With the influx of new players we should demand bigger prizes...yeah, I can just see them agreeing to that

Kdub, the Tele essentially destroyed TFFO, the very complex and challenging squad game which many of us considered the caviar of FF. 4/5 years ago it regularly drew 30,000 entries, made a tidy profit and was loved by the players on FISO, especially the international players. For a number of years in a row they continued to change the rules, refused to spend a penny on advertising it, repeatedly screwed up the website, driving all but us fanatics away. They have now announced that it no longer viable after successfully screwing it up. A lot of us decided that OFL was our next best bet and here we are. I would love a FISO friends and enemies league.
Now it's time to remember how to play this game which I used to like a lot.

Watch out folks, Pouzar is at his most deadly when claiming novice status. :?:

WELCOME ALL!

I gave up the Telegraph years ago when they started introducing things like appearance points.

The beauty of OFL is it's simplicity. 3 for a goal, 2 for an assist, 3 for a clean sheet, minus points for goals let in (starting after the first). And that's basically it.

Please start posting lots on these boards as usually no one bothers.

My main tips:

1) NEVER forget to set your supersubs

2) See rule one

STILL WAITING FOR MY PRIZES FROM EURO2008...

by my count that's over 2 years of emailing them and calling them to no avail...

that's a major problem, but the majority of people never find this out BECAUSE they never actually win anything

i'm not buying any teams UNTIL this is addressed :|

Very surprised to hear that Kdub. What prizes are you owed?

OFL have always been quick to sort out prizes for me.

I've set up my own F+E league, and I can see everyone else's squads. Is there a setting so you can't see each other's squads?

Recently there was a post by Alden Smith from OFL and he stated that there is no option to hide your squad details.
He provided a work around like naming 16 players that you're not going to use and switch to your real team just before the 14th of August using the unlimited transfers that are available at that time. Otherwise there is not much you can do.

Danger with waiting until the last moment is, the site crashes then you're stuck with Emile Heskey up front because you were trying to fool your mates.

I usually put a team in early doors of all transfer hopefuls (Schwarzer, Figuerola, Torres etc) hoping they move to a better team.

Then on the Thursday/Friday change up to my real team.

If people see it then fine - it's not like they won't have thought of the same players.

To all ex TFFO'ers, if you're joining this game, all the very best to you all. I'm not, to me the thrill of TFFO was picking that starman, this is a squad game, I know....but it just aint the same!

Best of luck
Milan.

Is there a closer alternative to TFFO in your view, Elkmaster? I too loved the starman feature (not to mention the simplicity in terms of squad formation relative to other games).

I haven't found one, I guess it was unique and not to everyone's taste.

I'm another ex TFFO'er who - with some regrets - won't be migrating to OFL. Other commitments leave me little time to get to up to full speed with a new game, but I must admit that the decision was made easier because I don't like the scoring rules in OFL. So, it's just YTM and SDT for me this season. Let's hope that I have more time next August and that TFFO returns.

Good luck everyone. :)
