6 months after the start and almost three months since most gave up, how is everyone doing with their weight? Have you kept going quietly losing more, piled it all back on or somewhere inbetween?

I have kept going. I have reached my first ambition - to be overweight  but I still have a way to go to get down to somewhere near "normal". I'll probably stop when I've lost a (not so) round 5 stones.

Weight: 265lb  215lb
BMI: 35.9  29.2
Waist: strained 40 inches  comfortable 36 inches

50lbs is excellent. Glad you are still into it and aiming for more.

I've lost about 9 pounds without too much effort which was more than expected as I've been tracking my weight for years largely just to stop me putting weight on without realising. Easily least I've weighed in at least 7 years.

50lbs - that's fantastic.

Not far short of one of these:

Nearly a whole bag of cement that you're not carrying around any more

I have just lost 8lbs in 5 days  I was down for the Golf at Daventry, but came down with a severe flu bug and spent the next 3 days in my Hotel bed. The only thing I've had to eat in the last 5 days was a bacon roll at the Golf Club on Friday Lunchtime.

I drove home on Sunday and spent another two days in my sick bed and only started to rally yesterday. Because I have to go into Hospital tomorrow for a bowel examination I had to spend today fasting and only take in fluids (and I'm bloody starving now  )

I just came out of the shower and stepped on the scales and I've gone from 15st 8lb last Wednesday to 15st.00lbs tonight. Not bad considering I was 17st 10lbs in 2007 :D

I am getting married in 16 weeks time! Time to re-focus i think. Fortunately I haven't put that much weight on over Christmas, so it's not all bad.

Thanks, it was very stop/starty all year & went long periods ignoring dieting etc but managed not to put any on at least. Ive dropped from an XL to just about a M, and turfed a lot of clothes out into the garage. Have to see if I have any brand names to sell on eBay, not keeping them as I did last time I got down to this size - dont want to wear them again.

I think that's the key, to be able to at least maintain your weight so that when you're motivated to diet you actually move in the right direction rather than just removing the extra weight you've put on whilst pigging out.

I'm really pleased about that. Found it very inspiring last year. Shame I didn't keep it going though.

My current weight is 230lb. 18lb more than this time last year. Mind you I really have overdone it over the festive period. I was 15-10 (220lb) only 3 weeks ago. Hopefully there is a lot of retained fluid (mostly beer  ) and I can dump a few pounds very quickly.

I've been "12 stone something" for several years. Crept under 12 stone for the first time in donkeys' years at the tail end of last year but have put on a few pounds over christmas.

Short term target is to lose 3 or 4 pounds to get under 12 stone again.

I really should aim to get down to 11st but I'll be realistic and admit that won't happen at my age without total abstinence of the stuff I enjoy which is a compromise too far!

I was under that when I was young and fit without being at all scrawny - my ideal weight for my frame, without any muscles for sport, is probably 10 and a half.

Got down to at or under11 and a half. Again put on 2 or 3 pounds over Xmas.

Good year. Same again?

I'll have a go at this if a new one is setup.

Could also offer my services as a guide in Snowdonia - good way to get fit and lose weight hiking mountains.

Would build up slowly to Crib goch though

I feel like I've put some timber on.

A lot of my shirts are quite snug fitting so I need to lose some weight.

Trouble is I've got leftover goodies like Pringles, Cadburys Heroes which I can't bring myself to throw away :(

The jogging was killing my knees so don't want to go back to that. May have to give this Kinnect thingybob a try.

You could do a good deed and give them away to the homeless in Birmingham etc
You need to do something non impact if you have bad knee's - perhaps swimming or yoga.

I was very successful in the first half of last year going from 265lb to 213lb by the start of July. Completely lost impetus and have put half of that back on. My target will be to get to 200lb AND STAY THERE.

The FISO community is definitely inspiring and kept me going.

I can still get into them  I'm not that bloated, just a spare tyre :)

Some lucky Africans get most of my old clothes anyway 8-)

I used to swim a lot but it did nothing for my weight, just gave me bigger shoulders. The cycling will do for now until I get myself a Kinnect. My mate has one and after five games of boxing and playing all the other different games, I was in agony for days. Its the way forward.
