Flange 1 - Wednesday 19:45
Fulham v Blackburn
Hull v Everton

Just star Dempsey and be done with it

Flange 2 - Saturday 15:00
Blackburn v Stoke
Fulham v Bolton
Man City v Hull
Portsmouth v Man United
West Ham v Burnley
Wigan v Sunderland

Most people looking to Rooney or a Man City player (Ade, Bellamy, SWP, Barry, Tevez?) to star in this flange I expect.

The many of us with Bent will be hoping he makes it off the treatment table in time, while anyone with Wigan defenders (!) will probably be hoping he doesn't! Any Carlton Cole holders could be looking for a good score against poor travellers Burnley, and in the other two games people with cheapie mids Dempsey or Dunn will hope for continuation of their recent form in their respective home games.

Flange 3 - Saturday 17:30
Aston Villa v Tottenham

Intriguing match here, do you go for Defoe or Lennon hoping for a repeat of last week, or will you be put off by Villa's relatively tight defence? Young, Milner or Agbonlahor the obvious home-team options.

Flange 4 - Sunday 12:00
Wolves v Birmingham
Everton v Liverpool (13:30)

Very tricky this one, as we'll most probably still be guessing whether Torres will make it when the midlands match kicks off. Most players I'd imagine will still look to star someone from one of the Merseyside clubs, but do you go for Gerrard, the Torres gamble, Cahill or Saha, or a defender in the hope of a low-scoring affair?

Flange 5 - Sunday 16:00
Arsenal v Chelsea

Personally I can see a high-scoring affair in the big match of the weekend, but it could easily be a drab 0-0 or 1-0/0-1 type of game. So take your pick of the defenders (pending Gallas availability after his black eye) - Terry or Vermaelen might be worth a shout given the chance they'll score too. Or choose from the regulars of Fab/Arsh or Drog/fit-again-Lamps.

Shouldn't be too many squad clashes this weekend I'd think, but one or two interesting star man decisions! Good luck people! :D

Cheers for the summary Reds

Spewing that Gallas is doubtful after just bringing him in for Tomkins after that tortoise had the crap hugged out of it  Sort of glad they are playing Chelsea who should find 1 goal at least to soften the blow hopefully :|

Dempsey looks sharp & I'm keen to find him a spot for the poorly performing Cahill looking at the fixtures leading up to Xmas. Have Saha in another squad so that may just suffice for my cover of a team that is struggling at the moment.

Shrek needs to get a wriggle on for a striker that has as many scoring shots as he does & I'm hoping for a strong showing accordingly :?

While even if Defoe scores half the points he slotted in last weekend, you are still looking at a juicy 30 points to keep the numbers ticking over leading into Sunday. That will be my main concern if I'm not already on 70+ for a few of my better performing teams come those tricky fixtures in those derby games :|

Best of luck fellas as some of us try to hit 1000 points real soon

Nice preview, Reds.

I'm trying to decide who to pick as the Saturday Afternoon Starman in my non-ISO squad. Given the fitness doubts about Berbatov and Bent, I'm leaning towards SWP who could rack up a few against Hull - possibly enough to cause another Brown half-time tirade on the Eastside pitch. Easier for you guys who are awake for the team news - or are sensible enough to have better options, such as Rooney & Adebayor.

Got a couple of squad clashes.

Not sure if Bent will be fit but as he is against Ade and Rooney then he is out (as I will be!). Which of teh other 2 to star? Go for the home boy I think.

Everything then falls out easily until decisions 2 and 3 - which keeper and which star in the final flange....

I might not have captained him but at least I picked him :) :?

Just double checked and Adebayor had to be the star pick on paper. Not only home to Hull but the best PPG of all the 3pm players, not just mine. Not much consolation with a probable 18 points 'thrown away'.

I can't find out where to check who I captained or left on the bench.
Is there a way to find out than just waiting for the update?

I don't think there is. Once the update is done the captains get highlighted and anyone left out of every flange gets a dash. Not great though is it....

Dont think you can find out what teams you selected until the update, Malrom. Which is probably why fewer people are publishing their scores this season. Last year we had those funky drop-down menus if you remember, which allowed you to review all previous flanges back to the first day of the season.

Thanks for the preview Reds. Good day generally for The Animals, with Iguana in with a good shout of the monthly :D

Of my 4 teams I only had Rooney captained in one of 3. Thankfully it was my leading team which was going head to head with my ISO squad in around 350th odd. Should get back in to the 200's hopefully with SWP & KPB also contributing in that one. Any MOM updates available? Couldn't see them on the TFF general chit chat thread.

No MOMs have been given yet on TFF's live score centre :?

Pre MOM points I scored 44, 38, 63 today. Massively happy with the 63 - although it's my bottom team it's been getting my best scores in recent weeks and catching up fast. The 44 had Rooney star but no-one else scoring more than 2 points!

A familiar name at the top of the pile now. My top two teams are up to 20th and 31st thanks to Rooney. :D

Outsatnding Oddsman. 8-) Where did you jump from position wise to reach the summit going into this weekends games. I didn't even realise you were in the top 50 assuming that must of been the case?

Cheers Worm.

Iguana position at start of weekend = 10th.
Iguana position at start of October = 1851st.

For a minute there I thought I was losing my touch

Have to say congratulations Oddsman & a "how do you do it?" I have had a couple of squads that were in a similar scenario to you but they have only made up 1000 places - Looks like you are on for a treble!

Had Rooney in 3 squads but only starred in 1 - A nobled Cartlon Cole & Dunn & No Torres again today have left me with another frustrating week across the board...

Bit early to be talking about the treble. Just pleased, once again, to be in the mix :D

Ah finally, my Liverpool semi block salutes in my leading team, & in a derby of all games  Nice momentum after Shrek's contribution even though my Sunday captain choices did nada in that squad. Just short of 90 for the weekend not including checking MOM so hopefully some more movement north with that lot :?:

ISO went a little better than Saturday too bar Vermaelen, while other 2 squads now officially making up the numbers in my attempt to mix things up. :|

A mixed week for me. Generally a much better day today, not in ISO though where I starred Ade over Roon then Fab over Drog.. ho hum. Still miles off the pace this season, just hope 1 or 2 of my sides can string a few decent weeks together now and get up there by January.

PS congrats Oddsman, absolutely nailed it this month!

Edit: Mine got 112, 110, 81, 64 (ISO) & 61 after MOM's

Gutted  Team stats claiming I did not select SWP in my starting 4 midfielders for the 15.00 kick off which I find very odd considering I didn't need Lamps or Gerrard selected until Sundays games :?:

School boy stuff or TFFOSM at fault? Has anybody else been able to check to see with the admin staff for the possibility of the system stuffing it up with any of your previous player points not being awarded due to non selection of a player that you were sure you selected (more so when you have no player clashes in any given weekend as I obviously did for this weekend)?

59 to 114 for me this weekend. A catalogue of errors with the team selection in my top side left me with 41 points less than I could have managed and I'm dropping down the leaderboard like a stone  .

Sounds like you just made a boob unfortunately Worm, I picked up my SWP points ok. Not heard of any instances of system messing up like that, maybe worth an email to them but wouldn't fancy chances of getting much of a response yet alone getting it reversed. Bummer.. nowt more annoying than schoolboy stuff like that :(

Cheers NM. Nice to pick up the monthly after narrowly missing out in October :D

Enjoyed my brief stay at the top  - hopefully it wont be the one and only time this season.

Congrats to MV for retaking the summit - was an interesting battle 2 seasons ago - expecting hopefully more of the same.

Interesting though with what ashers has said about his Eduardo selection :?: The plot thickens :!:

i had something odd with mine aswell.

just the leading team concerned.

made no difference to my score but odd anyways.

maybe it was human error and i got the wrong week somewhere along the ways, but when i went in to set my teams up for next week i found pompey vs burnley showed i had set it up, but with vermaelen as captain :?

very odd as i hadnt set anything else up and vermaelen hadnt been captain for ages :?
