Simple question.

Would you buy a wedding ring from Argos?

Somehow it just seems/feels wrong. But we may be being a tad snobbish. I am interested in your views......

I probably would, but not tell anyone where I got it from.

We had our weddings rings personally made for us.
A Celtic knot in the 3 different golds.
Total cost for both was 450 quid. It was 5 years ago but the price of gold has shot up since then.
It's a piece of art that will always remind me of the complication of marriage. It ties you in knots.
We never had engagement rings or posh receptions and wedding cakes. It was our biggest investment for the occasion, just a little bit more than our alcohol bill for everybody and I'm a shrewd buyer.
We still had booze left over  so the party went on 8-)

Bought ours at Ernest Jones, mine was only 60 quid and is now oval rather than round. So Argos sounds fine to me.
The only person who can really answer this question is your wife to be, because it is the BRIDE'S day don't forget.

I don't think it matters where it comes from. It is a symbol of love between two people and that should be more important than the materialistic side of things.

Why not go the whole hog and have the reception at KFC. Cheapskate

It depends what you want - we went for a pretty plain and simple pair - from a family jewellers and I don't remember them being particularly expensive - in the overall scheme of things. Go with what you are happy with no one will ever know, apart from you, which may be the issue.

If I'd have bought the wedding rings from Argos there wouldn't have been a wedding. My Mrs is of the opinion its on a par with getting the wedding flowers from an accident blackspot.

We didn't opt for the bargain bucket. Set menus only and extra coleslaw.

We will not be getting them from Argos, similar to we won't be having the wedding list at Argos either.....

Had a quote from an independent jewellers in Devizes and it comes in at around £600 for the pair.

Thats the most inexpensive we have found so far. They must be cheaper than that somewhere!

Specs are 9 carot for me, and 18 for the Mrs to be. Has to be yellow gold, and she is hoping to have a couple of small diamonds in hers.

Have found one I like on the Ernest Jones website *which is where the engagement ring is from*

No way Argos.....

Went to Hatton Garden for ours...Shopped around as you would there and picked up a nice pair of Platinum rings to go with her Platinum engagement ring for about £1500, prolly worth a lot more now.

Had hers cleaned a few years back here and they said that it was very rare for Platinum nowadays, people go for white gold instead.
