I'm putting it out there. I think the Man City - Fulham game will be called off due to snow.

Credentials, Masters degree in Meteorology and everyone's favourite source the BBC. 3-4 hours of snow before, during and after the game almost certain.

Looking at the fixtures/weather forecast I think everything else will be safe.

Is anyone else taking precautions?

Taking chances, not precautions, with 3 MCY, 1 FUL (and 3 NEW). I have a WC in hand for emergency...if FPL isn't broken by weather or heavy usage.

So a four point hit for Evans (who I would bench) for Vermaelen is a decent thing to do now, seeing as Richards might not be playing anymore?

hmmm, ok i just saw bbc video that its only supposed to be a relatively light fall, so hopefully the streets won't turn into an ice rink and the transport infrastructure won't fall apart, otherwise i'm down to an incredibly poor squad of 9 :(

you guys don't know how easy you have it - this photo was from last week and i still managed to get to work just fine*

Games on ESPN, Khaldoon Al Mubarak will move hell and high water to make sure it goes ahead. Global exposure opportunity and all that.

BBC report also says the temperature won't go below zero. It usually takes a full night of snowfall at a freezing temperature for the snow to stay on the ground and cause problems. What Manchester will get tomorrow sounds like it will have the same effect as a few hours of rain.

I admit I'm no meteorologist but I did just take this photo :D

According to here, it's not really due until towards 3pm.

With the Manchester City game kicking off at 5:30pm, that makes things interesting.

I'm thinking of holding off on my one remaining free transfer and seeing if the forecast changes before the deadline. If not, or if it worsens, I'm shelving my plan of bringing in a City defender. I might even double-up on the QPR defence!

It's not usually the snow that endangers games these days, it's the sub-zero temperatures making the roads and even stands dangerous.

It snowing late afternoon in Manchester or anywhere else shouldn't affect the likelihood of the game(s) happening, they should know well in advance by the state of the surrounding areas. IMO.

The point is that it will only start to snow just before kick off at City so hard to forecast how bad it will be.

The pitch can be warmed so maybe it won't settle initially but there could even be a postponement to avoid fun in the car park and on pavements after the game - which will be about 8pm.

Morning all from snowy Manchester. We're caked in the stuff. It's like a Dickensian Christmas. My front door won't open and I'm afraid to make too much noise in case of an avalanche. Children outside are playing ice hockey too. I've heard City will go ahead though.

Man City official twitter has posted twice this morning without a single mention of any chance of postponement. I would have thought if they thought there was any risk at all they would be getting the news out by any means possible. I'm sticking with my 3 City players.

But waht about visibility ?
If its snowing heavy and the ref cant see both ends he would call the game off.

Was just about to transfer Aguero in ...now nervous about this

I guess the bench might be tested this week - only 2x Man City players in the lineup but we still might see an appearance of Moses, Evans and Bardsley for Your Mum's Athletic.

Will Chelsea call the game off again because it may snow again like they did last year, especially as they have a few injuries

Did you know that if a game is abandoned during play that goals are discarded but yellow cards still stand? So if Silva scores 10 goals, picks up a yellow and then the game is abandoned then your only getting the points for the yellow card :P

RVP my vice captain just scored his second, wouldn't be the worst thing for City game to be called off now!
