I think they would be crazy to go ahead with the Man City game, would be a total health and safety risk. No of course this has nothing to do with Van Persie being my vice captain and scoring 40+ points!   :?

Just seen some pix of tractors clearing a very light covering of snow off the pitch. Shouldn't be a problem at present.

What about todays games ?

Weatehr hasnt been good in London .
And Chelsea will be desperate to get the game called off , with their bad form and Terry and Cole out.

Remember last year they 'persuaded' the police and council to call the Chelsea-Utd game off as they bad form and injuries ?

I predict they will do the same today

Chelsea pitch was perfect last time they managed to get it called off.

They said the surrounding area would be icey and a risk to fans
(like they are bothered any other time what happens to fans).

Oh and I forgot to add Drogba to Terry , Cole and maybe Lampard being out.

Ridiculous fog at Anfield tonight. I drove past it on my way home and it's closing in like a horror film.

Just seen Bale and Walker at Anfield on SSN, I'll be amazed if it goes ahead.

Now then, lets resurrect this thread.

Any fixtures that could be under threat this weekend? With snow hanging around and already on top of potential ice and snow from last weekend some clubs may pull the safety of fans card and call off their matches.

As far as I know the middle of the country has been worst hit, so could Wolves/WBA or Villa/Man City be under threat (although both on Sunday)? What about Swansea's match against Norwich?

Anyone local to any of these game care to offer their input?

Despite the weather warnings and promise of at least 10cm of snow overnight, we didn't have a drop in Birmingham. Villa game will be fine.

Perhaps all eyes should be on London. Crystal Palace's home game in the Championship has been postponed. Could Fulham or Spurs now be at risk?

Selhurst Park pitch is not 'heated'. This may explain early postponement of Crystal Palace's match (above).

Premier League clubs hosting games in London this weekend have underground heating: Fulham & Spurs.

Yep, it will be frozen pitches that get them - barely been above freezing in over a week (except maybe in That London where the softies have to live)

Not enough recent snow and any from last weekend on surrounding areas could easily have been cleared by now.

I think it's a requirement of premier league teams to have a heated pitch following last year's debacle..?

Don't they have upto a season to have it installed? Or has that rule been changed after Blackpool had every single home fixture cancelled for around 2 months due to the frozen pitch?

I think last year the problem wasn't heating of the soil, but problems with supporters coming walking on ice, possible evacuation issues, stuff like that.

It was - but it is a full week since the main snowfall so that should have been sorted by now.

Blacpool's run of away games was at the start of the season due to their stands not being completed if I remember rightly

No. they moved the Wigan game because of that, but in winter had a lot of cancellations due to weather.
