So now that Tam has to enter his 20,000 teams without using his automator, will everyone be making an extra effort to get their teams in this weekend?

I suppose that also means we can now have a reasonable discussion about WDT too!

Saturday, 19 March 2011
Tottenham v West Ham, 12:45
Aston Villa v Wolverhampton, 15:00
Blackburn v Blackpool, 15:00
Man Utd v Bolton, 15:00
Stoke v Newcastle, 15:00
West Brom v Arsenal, 15:00
Wigan v Birmingham, 15:00
Everton v Fulham, 17:30

Sunday, 20 March 2011
Sunderland v Liverpool, 13:30
Chelsea v Man City, 16:00

Man U and Spurs look good for wins. The rest is hard to call.

Almost plunged for 545 today, for the first time....still might, not sure. I don't check the winning teams normally, is it safe to say that on the whole you need a block defense to win ?

thank god for that, yeah rob usually as if you have man city and they keep a clean sheet your in with a good shout, you can try a semi block defence but then your hoping for two teams to keep a clean sheet which is obviously harder than just the one.

Hi Mad, i started to choose a team with a Liverpool block....but clicked off....purely for physical reasons....suffer from M.E. it was a bit too much, after entering my original 33 teams. I 've got one Everton block amongst those teams, so just have that for now.
If you choose a 545 are they just in for that weekend....or for the remainder of the season ?

All teams entered at any stage are active for the season, you have to add new WDT players every week to score in that comp.

All season.

In previous weeks, a lot of people have entered one block defence for each team just to give them a chance that weekend and every weekend afterwards. Others chose to enter a load of variations of one team's defence so that if that defence keeps a clean sheet they have lots of variations of strikers to try and get that perfect combo.

It's better to enter for a specific weekend as you can guarantee that you will have players playing, no defenders vs strikers situations and most importantly you can pick the form players that look like they have an easy game.

That's a bit of a swizz, Vid ! Getting a fiver each week from all those entries...i might have a go, but i wouldn't spend a fiver every week....they should give you the option of just having one team for a pound....like having a go on the lottery. You can only win with one team, ( with the exception of last weekend ) so four of the teams are pointless really.

One payment, enter for the season, the only thing you have to do each week is log on and add your players.

hey pal, I pretty much target a week for the mini league and try to include the WDT in that. Not always possible with a monday night game.

You have the best chance if you enter 5 teams each week ( if you can spare the cash )

I'd do 5 teams a week so this week for exapmle I will do blocks of

Villa
Blackburn
Man Utd
Chelsea
Stoke

I'll then make the front 6 players that should do well, mix them up a bit so all your eggs aren't in one basket and then with 5 different blocks and hopefully 14 active players you have a good chance of one of the 5 blocks keeping a clean sheet and being in with a shot.

It is boring and takes ages, I normally write down who i plan to add as the 3 extra and who i will star so it takes less time on the PC.

I normally enter about 200 teams each week and with out a workforce of OAPS/child labour/automater its a long process

I was thinking of those teams, with the exception of Stoke, fancy Newcastle to score....fancy Wigan this week, even though it's a important relegation match.

Friday lunchtime and there's only 30,000 entries in so far. Usually it's around 50,000 at this point. Not prizes for guessing why

If they manage to get all 18 syndicate members to enter they probably could get 2000 teams in each during this week. Maybe a lot more if they don't work. I manage to get almost 500 teams in about 7 hours.

2000 x 18 = 36000 so they should be alright in entering most their teams they will just probably go mentally insane doing it.

that may be the problem... 36000 into 3/4 people, phew!

With 20,000 teams, here's how many hours it would take one person to enter all of those at different rates of entry:

Code:
secs/team     Hours
1             6
3             17
5             28
10            56
12            67
15            83
20            111
25            139
30            167
60            333

Given that there are about 100 hours between the WDT entry window opening and closing, one person would have to work at a rate of 15 seconds per team without any sleep for nearly 4 days straight. Even between 4 people, that would equate to 5 hours each per day for 4 days!

It's amazing to think that The Sun didn't notice this earlier, especially given that Tam usually didn't enter any teams until Thursday night...

All I can say is if they don't manage to get a vast number of teams in then maybe you guys are correct about the syndicate numbers. As you would have to assume that with 18 syndicate members they should at least be able to manage 1000 teams each at the very least.

To be honest, I'm not sure they'll enter any teams at all.

Why dont we all just crack on, grateful that either we have a reduced field to compete against, or Noah's Ark will at least endure the same pain/boredom as the rest of us.

61,500 teams in so far, thats 10,000 overnight and 20,000 in the latter part of yestterday evening.

I'm thinking Sanjay has been busy again.

Anyone come across any of Noah's Ark entries. I have a feeling they tried the automation and it worked again :? Just the cynic in me.

Perhaps jpk can enlighten us..

With 80,000 teams entered now is obvious Tam has been successful in using the Automated entry again and chucked in thousands of teams..

Why the Sun say on one hand they have shut the door so to speak , yet in reality have done absolutely nothing, leaves more than a bad taste in the mouth.

Will be uproar on Monday when the tables are published then :!:
The Sun may try to say that the top entries were manual entries :?:
Or just disqualify any Tam team full stop ?
Wait for Monday :?

You lot make me laugh.

Stop being inspector Clouseau and concentrate on your own game.

The Tam bullying is getting so boring now.

If it leaves a bad taste in the mouth then leave and play another game.

Everyone drones on about the sun this and that or him and this and that but you all keep playing year after year.

Btw had a dream last night that newcastle won 3_0 and Nolan scored a hatrick. Stick him in.
