£10,000 TO BE WON THIS WEEK!Enter Weekend Dream Team from Tuesday morning and this week we have £10k to be won. The top three will win prizes so buy a team or play through your team page now

wonder what the 2nd & 3rd prizes are?

looking at the way the Sun structure their prizes my guess is

1 an amazing £9,999.88
2 an amazing 8p
3 an amazing 4p

By default, each WDT prize has to be more than £5.00.

being an FA Cup weekend thus cancelling out many current teams what are peoples thoughts on how many new teams will be entered solely targetting this weekend?

there are normally around 3000 new teams entered each week, maybe double that this week as it's a smaller playing field and bigger prizes

generally around 100k actual entries for each week WDT with multi teamers and Joe public entering their existing squads

Good question...

Noahs Ark definately didnt enter the whole Ark this week and numbers were down about 10,000 ( he has 18,000 animals aboard).

Now that the seasonal mini is looking more like a forlorn hope for Noah and the increased prize monies on offer for this weekend we can expect one of two things.

He will come into port and pick up another 5,000 animals or because he cannot get around the reduced player lists and the possibility of another damning mistake in entering players the rest of us cannot, he might not even bother..

It's safe to say more new teams will be entered this weekend but i wouldn't want to hazard a guess on total numbers.. Could be a bit of a lottery with only 7 teams playing and some teams restings players..

Seriously.....these are the fixtures this weekend?

Saturday, 12 March 2011
The FA Cup
Birmingham v Bolton, R6, 12:45
Man Utd v Arsenal, R6, 17:15

Sunday, 13 March 2011
The FA Cup
Stoke v West Ham, R6, 14:00
Man City v Reading, R6, 16:45

4 Matches!!! 7 Teams involved!!! Didn't Dream Team think this would be a stupid week to give a prize out? They have chosen not to give out prizes on a full weekend of Premier League fixtures before but they are increasing the prize money to £10,000 with only 4 fixtures!?!

At least it will involve a lot less clicking.

increased prize fund + less teams/players/currently entered teams in contention = more new entries = more money for the sun

marketing at its simpliest, why give away a double prize on a full fixture list weekend when all current teams have the potential to win it

This will prob be the hardest weekend of all 2 win the " big prize " good luck 2 all entrants seeing as United + Arsenal will be the only teams playing their big guns, reckon most people will enter with a complete city block, but no doubt tevez will be on the bench...

As there are such a small number of players to pick from do you think I could do every possible combination of players including star mans for under 5K?

On these types of weeks in the past I tend to go for the 'obvious' players, the best thing to do is go as random as hell with your picks.

why would City be full strength at home to Reading when they're playing away to Dynamo tonight 3 days prior? I reckon City will be a half team ie. def no Silva

just so you know, in order to pick every combination...

there are 7 GKs
42 DEFs
54 MIDs
25 STKs

you need to pick 1 GK
5 Defs
4 Mids
4 STKs

thats 7 x (42!/(5!x(42-5)!)) x (54!/(4!x(54-4)!)) x (25!/(4!(25-4)!))

(! = factorial)

= 850,668
x 316,251
x 12,650
x7
=
23,822,128,831,901,400
23 million billion quid

now who do we know with that kind of money

Cheers Maths Man.

Spend 23 million billion quid to win 5 grand, I don't think its worth the gamble. I think I'll give it a miss.

If I was going to do it though I'd probably leave Ngog out of all my teams.

How much would that save me?

Don't you have to repeat each team 13 times and then Star each of the 13 outfield players to cover all combinations. If thats what you have done then you can shoot me.

I reckon there will be 2 or 3 teams finishing on the same points this weekend so the prize money will actually be less.

Last time i looked there were about 400 new teams entered.

Upon checking now, there are another 3,000 gone in and looking at the bottom of the seasonal mini which is flooded with the name WRAIGHT i suspect these will be all Tam teams.

He really wants a clean sweep and i suspect his entry levels will be approaching 20,000 teams.

lets hope he wins it with some invalid players

Jp as well as going slow( just entered a few teams) i have just noticed this on total entrants.

looking at seasonal table and bottom 100 why does the lists go-

574914 sweetfawen1 william johnson 0
574914 a told thi martin southam 0
578444 Still Thinking 3 Lee Stow -1
578444 Rhinos Dogs Nigel Rowles -1

Where are those 3,500 teams. Is it because Tam is entering on the automated system?

As i said earlier, i know there were 575040 teams at some stge entered yesterday or today and then it shot up by 3,000 but why this descrepency at the bottom of the seasonal table?

can you shed some light?

But thats about 8 1/2 hours each if entering at the average of 1 min per person without a break, so they would have had to have started at 4pm at the latest

I entered about 150 teams today and took nearly 5 hours on and off, it is the most tedious thing ever. They must have some sort of machine doing it, or am I barking up the wrong tree here :?

What about the other 18,000 teams. Oh yeah 9,000 of them have been entered in the last 24 hours and no doubt by 12.15pm the other 9,000 will be in too.

I would think as new teams are entered the previously entered teams get pushed up the table, obviously moving the new Tam teams out of view

EDIT: Sorry didn't notice the discrepancy between the numbers, wondered what you were on about.

One glass of red too many

Good point though
