That's a great route - I'm over that way a few weeks after that for the Snowdon Marathon (my sister's running so I'll probably take my bike and ride some of the hills round there) but not the weekend you're talking about.

Was up Crib Goch once in a temperature inversion - looked for all the world that you could just step out on a carpet of cloud

Saw a Brocken Spectre up there as well once - giant shadow of yourself on the cloud, surrounded by a circular rainbow.

You carrying on and doing the whole horseshoe?

Full horseshoe is a great walk, the Glyders horseshoe is imo better though...I'm likely to be taking the bike up Snowdon that weekend as the voluntary ban will have ended, Up Llanberris & down Rangers.

Once did all the Welsh 3,000 foot peaks in 24 hours - up Crib Goch / Crib yDysgll / Snowdon, then up Elidyr Fawr and the Glyders and then up Pen Yr ole Wen and over the Carneddau to Aber. Bookmarked by cycling from Loughborough to Pen Y Pass and then back again (about 160 miles each way - obviously with a days gap between the cycling and the walking!). I do like the Glyders and Tryfan.

Makes me tired even thinking about it these days

I was on it with the most brilliant clear blue sky one side and rotating cloud that gave zero visibility the other. Amazing sight with the cloud rising up the steep slope one side and then disappearing as it hit the warm air on the other. Is that a temperature inversion?

I have also climbed Snowden at night and watched the sun come up. Do it before you die! :D

BlahBlah

Snowdon is in Wales

The Lake District is up North, people speak with a Lancashire accent and you will find lot's of Lake's and Julia Bardbury.

In Wales you will find Griff Rhys Jones
