I think there are better and cheaper options for the rest of the season and so I shouldn't be afraid to cash in on him.

I'm thinking that no way will Swansea continue keeping as many clean sheets as they have so far this season and that Vorm has been flattered slightly so far (eg his 2 penalty saves have effectively added 18 points to his score). Better options - or at least as good - for the rest of the season are Lindegaard (4.4m) and Mignolet (4.3m) who both seem to be established as No 1's now.

However, I'm nervous about ditching Vorm as every man and their dog has him (including my ML rivals), but I do need the cash to get my 'perfect' team.

Am I doing the right thing?

On my WC at the moment and this is my line of thinking. You mention Mignolet, whom is strongly within my considerations as he will rotate superbly with Krul giving me only home fixtures for my keepers. I know home fixtures do not mean I will achieve more CS but when comparing fixtures Vorm has Che, Nor, Man City, Eve, New,Bla, Wol & Liv whilst Mignolet (if defo No1 keeper) has Swa, Nor, Ars, Liv, QPR, Tot, Wol, Bol & Man U. I just favour the latter with the said fixtures and whilst Rodgers has done superbly with Swansea, MON inspires me with confidence when considering thier defence.

Maybe I should leave alone something that ain't broke though!

Are you doing the 'right thing', erm well maybe, yes, not sure, most certainly, stop tinkering.

Had Vorm since day 1 but shipped him out with the WC last week for a Lindegaard/Sorensen combination. Caulker at 4.0 on my bench just to keep some Swansea coverage.

Sorry, should add that I'm wildcarding and if I sell Vorm, I can afford the 'big 3' up front (RVP, Rooney, Aguero) so not just tinkering for the sake of it!

Sorensen at 4.4 looks a good call too :D

I've also come to the point where I think Vorm could be getting the boot.

It seems crazy, but I'm not sure.

The thing is though, I don't have faith in Sorensen until the end of the season so a Vorm/Stoke Def combination might be worth the security over Sorensen/Caulker.

I'm keeping Vorm.

if i had a cheap Swansea defender on my bench instead of him, i know that i'd more than likely never play them in favour of some of my "big guns" and inevitably miss out on regular swansea CS points.

My other keeper is Ruddy ( ) but i will be adressing this with my WC this week. Currently i've got in Mingolet in for him.

My current thoughts on the GK slots are:

Krul is atteractive but he is now very expensive and i already have Newcastle coverage in the shape of Simpson (but am considering doubling up)
Sorensen is a great shout but will he keep his place with Begovic there also?
Same with Lindegaard....i just dont think De Gea will be sidelined for long.

I'm keeping him at least until GW37 unless Swansea accumulate enough points to be safe.

GW31 Spurs (A) is he only game I'm considering benching him for in the next 12-14 weeks. Swansea have shown to be safe at home apart from yesterday and he'll get save points on the road.

Unline a lot of players mentioned below, he's a nailed on starter.

I wildcarded last GW and Vorm never moved from hi spot, stuck Moreira as sub GK and will stick with that...

Tremmel's their 1st choice reserve keeper.

Played in the FA Cup the other week and been on the bench ahead of Moreira for every League match since Sunderland on August 27th.

Well here's hoping I never need him then.

Sorensen and Mignolet rotate pretty well for 4.3 each

After this thread and much deliberation i am considering binning Vorm in favour of a new GK combo.... Just affords me much more flexibility from a defensive standpoint and gives me a lot more options than my previous Vorm / Ruddy combo.

I'm contemplating Sorensen / Lindergaard as they rotate very well. fear factor is that they both get dropped and i end up with no goalie, but i don't think that will happen.....will it? :?

I've got every faith in Swansea, but their fixtures coming up are not easy and i don't want to be overly reliant on Vorm every week to deliver the CS points. I'll bring in Caulker for that - he's easier to bench - and i just remember that they are a good bet for a cleanie if called upon.

edit - just seen there are a few Sorensen / Lindegaard combos being mentioned above! Any of you have any potential fears over this, or are you satisfied that it is a solid move?

Not quite as visionary as that - bought Vorm @ 4 and Krul @ 4.7, both are staying put barring injury.

I bought Krul @ 4million also, but I am 0.2m short if I want to keep him and have Sturridge as my 3rd striker, so I think that will drive his exit from my side.

That was quite a bargain seeing that nobody else got him for less than £4.5 million.

Apologies - meant Vorm. :|

I've never had Krul in my side - been seeing goalkeepers in my sleep this week. Be glad when this WC is over!

Vorm is out now for me to.
I got Ruddy/Vorm at 4m each in GW2. Their combined price rise enabled me to swap them for Lindegaard/Mignolet today.

Ditched Vorm but have Caulker for Swansea cover. Gone for a Sorensen / Mingolet combo.

Unless you've only just got Vorm and need the extra cash I think selling him is madness. Swansea do not look capable of imploding in the same way Blackpool and hull did.

All the alternatives are decent but not as certain to start as Vorm. For me he's staying season long bar injury.

I think I'll sell Vorm. I've looked at the fixtures until the season end with Krul and Vorm and I'd realistically only play Vorm a maximum of 4 times (not all home games).

It is looking like a sell to me.

Selling Vorm at 4.6m (if you got him at 4m) is the equivalent of getting Sorensen for £3.8m because you opt to take the 0.6m you have gained on him. If you don't ever sell him that profit is never realised.

Yup. I said at the start I'd pick one performing cheapy to go all season with, and not pull my hair out trying to predict clean sheets by rotating. Vorm usually picks up 3pts when he does concede, and he's the best penalty stopper in the league. Fair share of clean sheets in his direction too. Sell? No thanks.

Vorm and Krul, from GW24:

ASTON VILLA/wba NORWICH WOLVES SUNDERLAND/wigan Arsenal/MAN CITY NORWICH EVERTON/wba LIVERPOOL/spurs NEWCASTLE BOLTON ROVERS STOKE WOLVES CITY/United Everton/LIVERPOOL

Apart from the Arsenal/CITY, LIVERPOOL/Spurs and CITY/United, it's a decent run.

I got Vorm for 4 and Krul for 4.5. Not sure you can a better pairing for 9.5, but I'm open to changing my mind, if there's reasons for.

I'll almost certainly be selling with my wildcard.

I'll keep Krul and pair him with one of Sorensen or Mingolet, probably the former.

Don't like those swansea fixtures and at the end of the day you can pick up a swansea defender for peanuts if cover is needed.
