It's back for 2008/09, so thought I would start a new thread.

20k 1st prize again :D

and a nice 5k for best mini-league :D

http://rocknrollfootball.fantasyleague.com

FISO Mini-League now set up by Admin:

League Name: FISO Forum
League PIN: 74

If the FISO Mini-League wins the £5,000 first prize then the prize money will be distributed (by bank transfer by Admin) betwen the managers of the top 5 teams as follows:

1st 30% (£1,500)
2nd 25% (£1,250)
3rd 20% (£1,000)
4th 15% (£750)
5th 10% (£500)

Prize Rules:

Win it with your mates
This season, we're putting up £5,000 cash for the winner of the Private League Championship. Invite your mates to play in your own private league and win it together. The Private League with the most points, made up from the total score of its top five teams, will be crowned champions.

'Managers

This season, as well as selecting your team of 11 players, you must also pick yourself a manager.

The manager you choose for your team scores points based upon the results of his team in Premier League matches. Managers score three points for a win and one point for a draw.'

I'm more concerned that they have almost doubled your transfer allowance in this game

Glad to see this is running again, although I prefer last year's transfer rules. Still, good that they've added a mini league prize this time. :)

I can't find anything, normal OFL rule is one league only though.

It is although it means we can't just have one big FISO league b/c the average will be crap by the end (as players get bored and stop playing). Once we find out about the ML cut-off point I think we'll need to sort into groups of 10 (assuming that's the qualifying league number) as we did on the Metro game last year.

The league scores are based on the total of the top 5 teams, not all of them, so no problem with just having one big league.

Now that's a good idea, why couldn't Metro do it this way . Thanks for the info.

As this is the case is it best if Admin creates the league so as to avoid any uncertainty with the prize (that we will no doubt win! ;))?

Perhaps blessedbrian could set up the ML,and include the joining code in his first post ? - unless it's necessary for ADMIN to do so,whenever cash prizes are offered ?

I don't mind setting one up if everyones ok with that?

As its top 5 average, shouldnt be no problem with posting the league code here.

Shall we agree a cut off date for teams being allowed to join the league though? I couldnt see any deadline date in the rules

Not bad prizes for free. Beats Silent Manager for starters!!!! (Not hard tho!!!)

God knows how bad my productivity at work is actually gonna be when the season starts! It's bad enough now with all chopping and changing. This is before the FISO Goals and I Know the Score too!!!!

Just about fit to burst for start of new season!!!!!!!

Nursey, fetch me my "special" pants........

I'm afraid I'm responsible for introducing my ginger friend Mday97 to FISO!!!! His team name (Borusia Beaker) is in reference to the fact he looks like Beaker of Bunsen and Beaker fame off the muppets.

He's only a bairn (22) so please be gentle with him!!!! We do a predictions thing on Codemasters forum that is similar to FISO goals. Prizes aint great, more for a bit of banter really between a few of us. I came 2nd and won a Codies Xbox game which promply went on Ebay!!! It will be in the LMA - General Football section eventually. The lad who does it hasnt posted up the list yet.

He is actually doing very well in the FISO Today's golfer mini league. Currently 2nd I think!!! We both discovered the joy that is FISO thru that compo. I then had a good run in the laddies Euro 2008 comp and won a free £60 bet in Conqueror Worm's mini league. After telling him that he's decided to not be as shy and try and get a bit more involved. He'll be doing the laddies one also.

Me and Beaker also have a joint gambling account on Betfair that we invest £25 each per month into. We been doing it 10 months now and have nearly £2k in it with another potential £1500 of possible unsettled winnings. Gonna use it for another trip to Vegas. Golf and football what we both bet on. It's all we know. Not into horses. We've had a couple of nice touches like Darren Clarke £5 ew at 80-1 to win the BMW Asian Open (which he did by holing a 30 footer on last. GREAT SUCCESS!!!! :D ). Also made about £600 on Euro 2008. Had David Villa pre tourney at 19-1 to win golden boot. Plus had lots of win singles come up in group stages

We pool all our winnings from stuff like this and it all goes into the Vegas fund!!! Winning the £20k 1st prize and/or mini leagues might help us a bit here!!!! (So pull yer finger out my ginger pal!!!!)

He's got a team in FPL, so I'll get him to join FISO virgins and the main league as well. Apart from seeing Middlesbrough through Rose-tinted spectacles, he's usually pretty sensible!!!!

Regards to all

Thanks for the welcome gents!

As you can see above my "Friend" has explained all! He is the brains behind our Geordiesmoggy gambling syndicate, although tipping Southgate to be first to get the sack is just madness (I think he was trying to get after me!!)

Oh and if anyone needs a Matt Lucas look-a-like for a party, the comedy beard is your man! :D
