What changes would you like to see next year?

My thoughts are as follows:

1 - The playerlist should be slightly less demanding

I like a challenge, and feel that a testing playerlist allows the more skilful players to emerge, but the pricing on defenders this year was too tough

2 - The imbalance between the scoring of midfielders and all other positions needs to be addressed

Midfielders score more goals than they did 5 years ago, and their domination is detrimental to the game.

To combat this, I propose that a goal is worth 5 points regardless of a player's position - this would rein in Ronaldo and Lampard to some extent, while making the Rooneys and Drogbas a more attractive consideration.

3 - Greater reward for defensive players

I would also add an extra point for clean sheets for both goalkeepers and defenders - they do not score highly enough, and any extra reward should reflect defensive prowess rather than scoring the odd goal, I feel. The extra point for 'keepers over defenders should stay - they have less chance of KCs, and almost no chance of goals.

4 - Add value to KCs

At the moment, they are worth 2 points - the same as starting a match. I think they're slightly undervalued, and should be worth 3 points.

5 - Add 3 points for a penalty save

Again, 'keepers don't score nearly enough.

David James has had a belting season, and yet has scored less than Jermaine Jenas. This would go a small way to addressing that.

6 - Include the FA Cup

A controversial one, but I hate weekends where I have no interest in either my FPL team or my YTM team.

7 - Keep weekly deadlines

A nice balance between the high-maintenance TFF games and the deplorable transfer window system. This way, you can actively manage your team without relying on luck with injuries and form, but you don't have to log on on Sundays for team news in order to stand any chance.

8 - Ramp up the prizes for the YTM Cup

A great way of keeping interest alive once the title is out of reach; I'd like to see this at least match a manager of the month prize.

Any more for any more? Any thoughts on the above?

1. Disagree - the YTM player pricing is by far the best in the FF majors.

2. Possibly agree - maybe reduce the Midfielder goal points by 1.

3. Possibly agree - maybe an extra point for Clean Sheets for a full game.

4. Agree - particularly as YTM still has KCs rather than those brain-dead OPTA Assists.

5. Agree - penalty saves should be rewarded.

6. Disagree - absolutely no way should the FA Cup lottery be included, this has partially ruined TFFO with all the rotation and replays.

7. Agree - weekly deadlines are the ideal compromise between anytime transfers (with all those last minute team news checks) and transfer windows.

8. Agree - the YTM Cup was a great innovation.

...and the great thing is that the YTM people will actually read and consider these ideas. :)

FS Record: Would be alot better but for Andy L & E !
YTM has been a much improved competition this year with the changes in the amount of players per team and a weekly transfer window very good in my opinion!
The budget is fine - if infact id rather it went a little bit tighter!
Something does have to be done about the power scoring of midfielders though - the above ideas seem very reasonable!
Re the transfer window I personally would like it to close at 12 every sat so I can just anticipate the team news ( when there is no 1245 ko its a right pain especially for your MotM teams) and then get on with the rest of my saturday!
With regards including the FA Cup with only 15 transfers per season I dont think that should be included!

Nice ideas - here are my thoughts....

1 - Playerlist is great - but could o with more players at start of season to pick up potential bargains.

2 - Agree on standard goal points providing number 3 is implemented!

3 - Agree

4 - Agree

5 - Agree

6 - No FA cup - makes it a lottery. Maybe for interest purposes they could run an FA cup side game just for points in FA games?

7 - Definitely weekly deadlines.

8 - Agree

(9) I think the 3 players per side should stay too - this prevents too many block tactics.

(10) Weekly prizes are a bit pointless as i cant imagine anyone 'goes' for it! You cant make transfers during the week either so it is largely luck. I'd like the money invested into the monthly and have a top 5 for that.

(11) Slightly off subject! Test these changes out in a European Championship game this summer!!!
