WORLD CUP STARTING TEAMS AND INJURIES

Post by leethomas »

Just thought we could do with its own thread for this, noticed ciman played at back for belgium last night, not in game. Fagner not in for brazil who could get the nod over danilo. Why cant it just be easy to know teams defences

Belgium - probably one of the most straightforward starting XI’s. Kompany went off injured in their previous friendly so whether he is fit or not, who knows, but would be a risky pick even if named in starting XI.

3-4-3
Courtois
Alderweireld-Kompany-Vertonghen
Meunier-De Bruyne-Witsel-Carrasco
Mertens-Lukaku-Hazard

Think they are saying he's fit.

De Gea
Carvajal - Pique - Ramos - Alba
Busquets - Thiago
Silva - Isco - Iniesta
Costa??

About time we started a new thread, can we ban the words “daisy” and “chain” from it
And I know what you mean about defence it’s why friendlies don’t help!!!

Brazil midfielder Fred, who is close to joining Manchester United, injured an ankle in training a week before the start of the World Cup.

United have agreed a £47m deal for the 25-year-old Shakhtar Donetsk player, with his move to Old Trafford expected to be completed soon.

Brazil team doctor Rodrigo Lasmar described the injury, which happened in London, as a "trauma in his ankle".

Brazil begin their World Cup campaign against Switzerland on 17 June.

The five-time winners play further Group E matches against Costa Rica and Serbia in Russia.

Lasmar added: "At the moment it is too early to say anything about him.

"On Friday, we watch to see what happens and then decide if we need to do any exams or not."

I think flashscores have got it wrong, they say 17mins but bet 365 says he went off for Sule at 46 mins.

He's playing right now mate:

Neuer
Kimmich, Boateng, Hummels, Hector
Khedira, Kroos
Muller, Reus, Draxler
Werner
He went off after 17 mins.
Did he? I'm not watching the game but my app says he was substituted off at half-time with Neuer. :-/
I think flashscores have got it wrong, they say 17mins but bet 365 says he went off for Sule at 46 mins.
Yeah, that's what my Sky Sports and Who Scored apps say as well. More than likely a precaution for both players.

Caceres should play one of the full back positions but the other one is up for grabs between Pereira and G Silva although Pereira played whole game tonight and G Silva didn’t leave the bench. This would suggest its their starting back 4. Pretty irrelevant at the moment though as DT haven’t got Caceres or Pereira listed

Thought Perreira was up against Varela at right back do the Silva up against Caceres at left back?

The full backs have had a lot of rotation all through the qualifiers and they have all been swapping flanks too so a little bit hard to work out. Caceres started the last 3 qualifying games though but missed a few games in the middle. Not sure if this was due to injury. But I’d predict Caceres will get left back although he can play right back too.
