Re: Fantasy Olympics 2016
Having said that this was all over, there are now 3 people tied at the top of the table. Sadly no FISO representatives though.

Re: Fantasy Olympics 2016
1 big final push, and I might manage to creep on to page 1 of the league table. Sadly, I fear I will probably head the other way.

Re: Fantasy Olympics 2016
Sure enough, I didn't win.
I do get a bit of a lie-in tomorrow morning, and a chance to hit the sack before 4:00 am.
No FISO over-all winner (for a change). The winning 2 entries (yes, they both had the same entry out of the 2.1 billion possible entries) only won because Azerbaijan won 2 gold & 1 silver in the last 2 hours of competition.
See you for the Winter Olympics in 2018.

Thought backing China and avoiding GB/NI was a good plan....

Yeah, also went for China as my Thierry Henry pick, and the host effect for Brazil (who at least improved a bit as it went on...)murf wrote:Thought backing China and avoiding GB/NI was a good plan....
No FISO entrant picked GB though, and only one the USA... I assumed everyone would go with one of the top three, another top ten and then try to strike lucky with a few well chosen minnows. Clearly not the winning formula.

Re: Fantasy Olympics 2016
Err... Great Britain were 4 and were actually picked by a few FISOers. You had me worried then as I celebrated all of Team GB's medals for two reasons - patriotism and Shaggy's comp.
Thanks for running - counting down to 2018 already!

Re: Fantasy Olympics 2016
I can start getting 2018 ready, but it all really depends what happens to Russia. If anyone has some inside knowledge as to whether they will be competing, please let me know.morganb wrote:Thanks for running - counting down to 2018 already!

Oh I assumed (without looking back at the list) that GB were 3 based on London ranking...morganb wrote:Err... Great Britain were 4 and were actually picked by a few FISOers. You had me worried then as I celebrated all of Team GB's medals for two reasons - patriotism and Shaggy's comp.

How about a Paralympic version? I know, not long to set it up...Shaggy365 wrote:I can start getting 2018 ready, but it all really depends what happens to Russia. Re: Fantasy Olympics 2016
I could do a Paralympic version, but I need the sleep. Also, I know the Paralympics will be happening, but thanks to the forward planning and lack of money/crowds, it's all being scaled down. Maybe I could do a scaled down version of my competition.forestfan wrote:How about a Paralympic version? I know, not long to set it up...

Yes, cheers Shaggy. Always a benefit being able to cheer on a Bahranian guy you've never heard of!

Every time I scientifically work it all out and every time I end up in a non vertiginous position. Back to pin sticking and silly names for me.

Re: Fantasy Olympics 2016
I guess the most gratifying thing for me about this is that the values & points were fine. Maybe there could have been a bit more budget to spend, and maybe I should have included some countries that have never won a medal before (Fiji, Kosovo etc). Quite pleased.
(apart from not winning, of course)

I'll get this in before anyone asks me about this. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/boxing/58762699
As I'm typing this, there has been no adjustments made to the medals, so the results still stand.

Re: Fantasy Olympics 2016
I’ve never known a fantasy competition revised several years after the event, anyway…
Shall we have another look at that Fantasy Tour de France 1999?
