"Hi Dean,
Thanks for your email and interest in Ultimate Fantasy Premier League (UFPL).
We can confirm that the Ultimate game will not be running during the 2016/17 season. As part of a major overhaul of the Premier League’s digital properties, we’re focused on rebuilding and improving the free to play Fantasy Premier League game in advance of the new season. So while UFPL may return in the future, it will not be available this August.
Kind regards,
Ultimate Fantasy Premier League Support"

They need to have more custom options on FPL, pay leagues is better way to go.

Re: No UFPL next season?
This improving and rebuilding comment is very interesting. In the absence of any "facts" I wonder what they are planning. Some people seem to be speculating that the rise in popularity of Daily Fantasy Sports like DraftKings may encourage the FPL people to include an element of that in this years game. Interesting times ahead.

Re: No UFPL next season?
Would be good if they adopted the Sun's approach and gave British managers the option, (they'd be too wary of anti-gambling legislation to include overseas managers), of playing the game for free or paying a fiver. Everyone, paid and free entrants, would all be in the same competition for the kudos of being best in the world and for the winner's football shirt or whatever. Simultaneously all paying managers would also be in a separate competition in which the major part of the prize money (after a small deduction for admin) should be awarded as prizes for the top managers in that competition.
If of the large number of British entrants as few as 10% coughed up a fiver the total prize money even after a 20% deduction for admin would be in excess of £500,000. That might enable them to provide five figure prizes for anyone in the top ten. That would surely increase the enthusiasm of some managers for the game.

Maybe , just maybe..they are planning on incorporating subs and captain changes into the fpl game. I think so long as it's only one captain change per gw I would welcome this a lot more than those wretched chips

I only really got to grips with this in the 2nd half of last season (my first effort at it) and was really looking forward to it this year - shame.

This game is crying out for a decent prize structure; It's my favourite game to play yet It receives the least amount of my time due to the awful prizes on offer.
