Apparently , he asked Martinez, as a special favour, if he could miss the first hour of the game so he could watch The Great Sport Relief Bakeoff. He is a very keen gateau enthusiast and he thought he might pick up some tips from Eddie The Eagle.

If you watch the game carefully you will see that he is sitting on the bench with a tablet in front of him.

I'm wondering who would have taken those 2 penalties if Baines started this game...

Baines. That's who. Hate this game sometimes

I'm pretty sure Lukaku is on pens now actually and, if last season is to go by, Barkley is ahead of Baines too. For example, FFS list the pen order as Lukaku, Barkley, Baines, Mirallas.

If he's not starting he might as well be on the ISS pulling his plonker, Jees.

Yeah Lukaku is ahead but he wasn't on the pitch at the time. Tbh I don't know if Barkley is ahead of Baines

Why would he be rested, he's just back in the team? It seems obvious that Martinez changed the back four with a view to tightening things up at the back (and probably resting Stones). The bad news for us Baines owners is that it worked.

I doubt playing Oviedo over Baines is something you would do to tighten things at the back.

I'm another who had a disastrous Baines punt. 11 points off last week after taking Ivan to bring him in, although must admit I'm happy he didn't get a 2 minute cameo, as Azpi did come off my bench with 9 points, so maybe I owe him

Either way he's gone. Angry transfer executed last night. He served me well in the past but his time is done

Sure, he's an attacking full back as well, but with youth and legs on his side.

Got LaSagna and Morono in a few weeks back - on paper sounded good, esp, with "DGW25" but have given awful returns.
Now Paines is taking the jesting to another level. Really? Nil poin x 3??

i give him the armband on gw 26 !!! and if he doesnt deliver i ll have to transfert out...

It can't be rest, not heard he is unfit either. My guess he has lost his place and the 2 games he has missed, they have won and kept CS so can't see him getting back in but with how fpl has been this season, you never know

Oh I don't know, I've had a few... Walcott at every available mis-timed opportunity... Hazard... Baines... A double up on Chelsea defence early in the season... Been some rank rotten 'punts' in there
