Sounds great double bill - I;ve seen both of these and youre in for a good night!
Thought Cooper would still be headlining tho!

Anyone remember Brian Auger got ticket (no one will go with) at Gateshead Town Hall on 6th November.

Bloody brilliant! So glad I went to check them out. Band of the weekend for me without a doubt. Incredible show, the frontman is just fantastic. Really, really want to see this band again. I've ordered their album but not sure that show can possibly translate to CD.

Cheers for the heads up, Zimm. 8-)

Not s gig as such (but probably more appropriate in here than the TV threads).

Went to see Roger Waters' The Wall at the cinema last night.

It's an entire concert from his recent tour (not quite sure if all from a single show) and part documentary.

The documentary bits aren't quite believable to me but who knows.

The concert though (if you're a fan) is just amazing. I sat there watching thinking that surely even none fans couldn't fail to be blown away by it - but I know they (Floyd) are quite polarising.

But for me, I'm just in total awe of it. Pretentious? Self indulgent? Not for me. Work of genius.

Even after 30 years of listening to it, I still can't get my head round somebody being able to think that up.

And like my comment in the other thread; to actually sit there and listen to the whole album end to end is a great experience.

One of the best live acts I've ever seen at the Southampton Guildhall last night - Frank Turner. Class act, really got the crowd going with some cracking sing along out loud songs. For those that don't know him check out some of his classics like Photosynthesis, Recovery and I Still Believe. But live these songs just go up a whole new level.

Muse next in April.

Yeah, Frank is cool live. Seen him a few times. I used to be obsessed with his hardcore band, Million Dead. Very different from the stuff he does these days.

This is still one of my favourite songs...

Was also at that gig, what a show! Really glad I got to see Motley before they finish. 3rd time I've seen them over the space of 20+ years and they never failed to entertain. Fitting show to end there career unless they comeback of course.

Which one?

I heard scary stories of too much lardy, middle-aged flesh and not enough clothing at one recently.

Just got back from the 'Shiiine On Weekender' at Butlins in Minehead, Somerset.

Must admit, I went down there without very high expectations and saw it more as a weekend on the beer with the added bonus of a bit of live music.

It was fantastic and the atmosphere was brilliant.

The Wonder Stuff, The Wedding Present, The Frank & Walters, Eat and 808 State were all on top form.

Have to say, I also enjoyed the Happy Mondays (performed Pills, Thrills & Bellyaches in its entirety followed by Hallelujah & W.F.L.). & The Inspiral Carpets (I wasn't much of a fan 25 years ago).

There was a superb dj set by Graeme Park and even the various tribute acts (Clone Roses, Blurred, Oasis UK etc) were all of a very good standard.

Highlight of the weekend though was Peter Hook & the Light whose hour long set had the hair on the back of my neck standing up. Different class.

Top weekend and I'd highly recommend next years but it'll definitely take me until next weekend to get over it.

Went to see Younghusband last weekend at the Eagle Inn in Salford. New venue for me and what a cracking little place. Odd location, but a nice boozer with a small room at the back for bands. Perfect size for bands that are probably only going to half fill a room in your average gig space. Surprisingly good sound, too. A hidden gem.

Oh, Younghusband are and were superb. New album (Dissolver) will be on the end of year list for sure.

That looked a cracking lineup. Glad you enjoyed The Frank & Walters, a great band, always ace live.

Seeing New Order in a club in Manchester on 5th December. Found out this week they're not on stage until after midnight  might need a flask of Red Bull for the drive home.

BSR Friday week - really looking forward to this one as it's at a great venue only spoiled by being all seated. For this gig however, they are taking out the stalls seating, so I can adopt my usual place centre stage three back!
Seating OK for a film, opera or classical but for rocking....... NAH!

First wave of acts announced for Green Man '16 - fair to say a mixed response from GM regulars. I always find there's more interest for me in the lesser bands anyway, and this year will be no different.

Three of the headliners are Belle & Sebastian (No. Just NO!), James Blake (Not interested) and Wild Beasts (how the bloody hell have they pulled that off??).

From sublime to ridiculous - I am off to the Brits on Wednesday! I really enjoy our pre-show and after-show party but the bit in the middle sometimes makes me cringe. It is often a better TV show than being there live.

Off topic but as there are a fair few indie music fans on here, it would be nice to get Viola Beach into the top ten following last weeks tragic events.
