Brought long haired bloke in last week for two 'easy' games as a place holder while we saw what happened at MANC. Not sure I'd be brave enough to captain him tho, especially after last week's blank.Striker wrote:Definitely not Wayne!
But that long haired bloke could easily get a brace this weekend.

Keep the faith. Captain this week, possibly transfer out next week. Leicester may have held City to a single goal, but they didn't have a decent striker.jacksosi wrote:Brought long haired bloke in last week for two 'easy' games as a place holder while we saw what happened at MANC. There always seems to be a player or two for whom fiso have a collective blind spot. In fact there are several managers on here who adhere closely to the description of The Kinks 1966 hit. A good year that for both pop and football!

Surely not? In the form of his career and Mourinho doesn't take the league lightly, played his strongest team possible every game so far.The Username wrote:I can see Hazard getting rested this weekend after playing last night.

Just guessing really, but hes been rotating throughout the team of late, we're into the 4 games in a weekish period now, i think hes more likely to give him a breather Vs Stoke away then WHU, Southampton and Spurs. I thought he would sit out last night. The Toon Man wrote:Surely not? Then again on Fri and Sun (I believe) it may happen in one of these games.jacksosi wrote:The Username wrote:I can see Hazard getting rested this weekend after playing last night.

chelsea lost at stoke last year so can't see hazard being rested.
big andy (c) for me. however other than aguero away to sunderland my captaincy picks over the last 7+ weeks have been horrific

Yes, the flip side is that City could be joint top by the time Chelsea play so you would think he will play his strongest 11 and maybe rest a few against West Ham.

Yes this is how I read it, the games starting 26th and 28th Dec and 1st Jan are much more likely to see rotation than this coming Saturday, Sunday or Monday one. I see the games starting on Sunday 28th as particularly vulnerable and wouldn't be surprised to see wholesale rotation and 'League Cup' teams.gunnersaurus wrote:Then again on Fri and Sun (I believe) it may happen in one of these games.jacksosi wrote:The Username wrote:I can see Hazard getting rested this weekend after playing last night.

Yep I agree with that.
Missed the fact Chelsea play Monday, which allows plenty of rest.
Either Hazard or Toure for me, not sure yet

Can't decide between Yaya and Eriksen.
Both have plum home fixtures with the potential to score big, and both still have relatively low ownership...
Who do we think is most likely to 'park the bus' and show a bit of defensive resilience? Palace or Burnley?

There is of course the argument that any player that's owned by close to or less than 10% is a differential in itself, simply by owning them.liquidfootball2 wrote:Probably Charlie Austin atm as he looks the standout choice and should be well rested
Austin: 10.0%
Yaya: 11.4%
If either of these go crazy, you'd expect to benefit more than most simply by having them in your team.
Although I'm not sure what the ownership of these players are, in the top 10k.

Anyone else concerned Eriksen will be benched for Burnley? Played full 90 on the weekend as well as midweek.

Eriksen.
a) Spurs on the up
b) When they score chances are he's scoring or assisting
c) And vs Burnley I reckon it's going to be a nice open game

Do people really think Eriksen will be rested? He's been MOTM in 2 of the last 5 games, and started every league game this season, even after appearing in the Europa League. Obviously I'm a little worried but it seems unlikely to me.

Re: GW 17 Captain
A few weeks ago the vast majority of the top 10k had three out of Kun, Austin, Bony and Costa. Now Aguero has gone, RvP and Rooney are probably in some teams but Austin is likely to be in most.KingCabbage wrote:There is of course the argument that any player that's owned by close to or less than 10% is a differential in itself, simply by owning them.liquidfootball2 wrote:Probably Charlie Austin atm as he looks the standout choice and should be well rested

41% of the top 10k benched Austin last week so while not in most anymore, he is in a sizeable number and not a differential at all amongst the top players.

I find it staggering that Toure is leading the captaincy poll right now. Are we that hopeful that City will get a penalty?

Re: GW 17 Captain
This does suggest you think Yaya's only chance of points is if City are awarded a penalty. He's scored 4 goals in the league this season - only 1 was a penalty, vs Everton.gooberman wrote:I find it staggering that Toure is leading the captaincy poll right now. He can always get an assist too, so whilst a penalty would be nice, it's certainly not the only thing I'm hopeful of.
