Wet towel and sweaty gym kit
OK so there's a gym at my new job (awesome!) and a coupla times this week I've gone in early and had a workout and a shower before work.
Trouble is, when I put the wet towel and the sweaty clothes in the car (even in the boot) for the rest of the day my car whiffs a bit by the time I go home, and the towel particularly is a bit too much on the nose and needs washing again right away.
Anyone have any tips for storing sweaty clothes and wet towels some way that doesnt lead to a stinky car and stinky towel?
(Nowhere inside the building I can hang them to dry, already checked out that option...)

In a couple of carrier bags, and tied very tightly to keep the air from circulating?

Can you lean front seat back and hang towel over that so its dries during the day?
Or use a microfibre towel

Re: Wet towel and sweaty gym kit
Never put your sweaties and a towel together.
Your kit is full of bugs and the moist towel in a warm car is a nice environment for them to grow on. Staphlococcus can double in number in less than an hour...so say you had a few hundred million on your kit....do the maths. They break down products in your sweat to make smellies.
So your kit is gonna stink after a day in your car......the towel, if wrapped separately, won't be as bad.

Re: Wet towel and sweaty gym kit
I have a boot bag which I put my boots in after a day walking.
Maybe you could utilize one for your gym gear.

Put them in someone else's car.
Or get a couple of sealable vacuum bags (minus the vacuum)

Re: Wet towel and sweaty gym kit
Some ideas:
1. Don't have a shower - keep a distance from colleagues at work.
2. Get a roof-rack on the car and carry the towel and gear there.
3. Bring some soap flakes and wash the towel at the gym.
4. Ask the gym if they will store your stuff during the day, and pick it up in the evening.
5. Bring the towel into work and hide it in the toilets till you go home.
6. Dry yourself with paper towels.

Or just wear a pair of swimming trunks while you are in the gym.

After reading Sted's post it is clear that the gym is a death trap: so I suggest that we all avoid them like an almost literal plague
