It`s a shame this game doesn`t get more interest, it`s difficult to get to grips with initially but it`s worth the effort.

The starting prices often put people off but they are purely a roll over from last year, the initial prices change radically, it`s all about buying clever making money and building a Super Team, the increases are worked on a 3 week rolling average, it`s a challenging game that needs a lot of thought to do well in.

Treat it like FAPL, but be mindful that team results boost a player's score and read the scoring system very carefully ;)

Does anyone here have any idea how to join the SPORTAL forum?

Thought I might try and drum up interest for our league over there but their software is a bad eff joke -- everytime hit Regester and click "I agree to [their] terms and conditions" it takes me to a eff page that says "Invalid You've passed an invalid value to the forum. Continue..."

Their admin is about as useful as an ashtray on a motorcycle - emailing them does no good.

Any ideas?

I don`t think Fiso will get any backfill from Sportal, it should be possible to set up a Forum v Forum head to head, 10 v 10 deal, I`ll post the code on any Aussie forums I use if need be, but as previously stated this game is good enough to merit at least 20 Fiso players, the side game potential alone is limitless, those FPL money grabbers should be salivating over this.

Live scoring is usually swift.

The way to approach this is to look at players that are cheap that you feel will start strong, they will increase dramatically, the players that you want to have in your team at the buisiness end of the season will be overpriced, they more often than not be incapable of hitting their breakeven and they will get cheaper as the gameweeks progress.

Next lesson, Breakevens.

A players Breakeven is the points ceiling they have to reach to prevent a cash loss.

A hypothetical scenario would be, RVP worth 16 million scores 21 pts gameweek 3, 18 pts gameweek 4, and 42 points gameweek 5, chances are he makes his BE and only loses a little bit.

Another scenario is 21pts, 18 pts, 8pts, he misses his BE and looses 1.2million, and that 8 pts is in his rolling average for the next 2 weeks.

Next lesson Rolling averages.

The rolling average is the number the price change algorithm uses to determine price fluctuations, 21,12, 41 good, 21, 12, -1 bad, that -1 will affect the players score for 2 further weeks, it will not result in a drop if the player is injured or suspended, it will only be active if he plays, if he scores 60 points(not impossible) he will go a long way to cancelling out the -1, and equilibrium will be restored.

Prices are determined by performance over a 3 week period, not who buys or sells them.

How do you know what the Break Even score is?

Unfortunately we don`t, there are 4 or 5 sites that calculate them for players of AFL games run by Virtual Sports but sadly this game doesn`t have the poularity to justify the effort, Walesy at tooserious used to include the EPL game in his stats, but didn`t last year.

Just be mindful of expensive players with very low scores in their average, of course if you intend to keep them season long it`s irelevant, it`s more important early on when trading fringe players to build up cash whilst waiting for players like RVP, Bale, Hazard etc to drop although Chelsea players are less likely to drop too soon with a double score included in their bubble price, but its only there for a week so not such a worry.

Because players don`t rise until they have played their 3rd game these are referred to as players on the bubble.

If a cheap player starts playing 4 or 5 weeks in and kills it for 2 weeks this will usually mean he has a negative Breakeven and will rocket in price after his third game these can be used as gateway players to season long keepers.
