Richt's brain picking place.

Post by Richt »

Morning all. Just looking for a 2nd (3rd, 4th, 5th or even 6th opinion please).

My current squad is as follows. I want to bring Martial in as he really is a no brainer playing OOP. Please see below my rambings. Suggestions / opinions welcomed.

Ryan
Buttons

Otamendi
Soyuncu
TAA
Lundsrtram
Rico

Salah
Sterling
KDB
James
Guendozi

Vardy
Abraham
Ayew

To get Martial in, the best option I can see is to do Option 1 James to Martial and then Otamendi to either Kelly or a non playing 4m to just sit on the bench. This would be for a -4 point hit if done after the GW closes on Saturday morning

or

Optioin 2 I to James to Martial, I can get rid of Otamendi and Guendouzi and bring in a cheaper MID (stephens at Brighton and a guaranteed starting cheap defender too) for a minus 8

Oprtion 3 I just see Martial a much more "must have" than Otamendi or who ever wins the Pep selection lottery each weekend.

Optioin 3 But then I could also downgrade Salah to Mane.

On reflection having read this back, I think option 1 is my favourie.

Confustication.

Does Salah  Mane free up engough cash?

Could you could go Salah  Martial with next weeks tsfr, and then James  Mane the following week?

Would avoid the hit and Liv play City that week.

I would go for either of those tbh.

Moving cash out of defence may seem clever, but if\when the Lpool or Citeh defences fire then you'll want to be on them?

Guess it all comes down to the Salah v Mane debate.

Totally. And I guess that is a pure coin flip

I have neither right now but will probably go Sterling  one of them after the City game.

I'm leaning towards Mane, but that could change several times over the next 2 weeks :?

The price difference between the 2 now is so minimal, (.5m from memory), that I actually do think Salah is probably worth that little amount extra. When the price difference was 1m, it was more of a question.

Ayew to Greenwood would raise some funds. But my thinking is that Ayew at 5m is quite good value as a playing sub.

Depends how much you want to upgrade James to Martial.....

Having cake and eat it is becoming a popular saying again....
