BB 29 as previously planned, but with Saka instead of Perez. Due to various reasons (differential, injury, DGW), I've taken a cool -8 Image

Ings, Traore, Hayden-> Jota, Mahrez, Saka

Also gone with a SGW captain in Salah. Over and out amigos, good lucko!
Good luck SMB 🤞🏻

Im also on the BB this week and will use the FH for 34 and just try build a solid 11 for gameweek 37

Is that your plan also ?

I've decided not to plan anymore. It's not worked at all for me this season Image

FH will be my ace in the hole. I'm 70 points behind in my ML, and will look for a GW where a differential team could go big. Could be 34, 37 or my favorite idea: 38!

Open mind and a big heart.. that's my mantra from now on. Atleast until the BB fails Image

Good luck to you too Stevieste. 30 BB score should be okay right? Image

Would you have benched all those points? Are you lined up as you’d have gone without the BB?

If so, chapeau indeed. Although you need to work on who to play each week 🤣

I did plan to BB 27 or 29 when I WCed in 25. The planned bench was:
McCarthy Lundstram Lascelles Perez

However my first team started to have problems, which was making BB a secondary priority. Had it not been a late-announced DGW, I might have saved the 1FT and started Boly in 4-3-3.

In my defence though, it was the goalkeeper dilemma which which tipped the scales in favour of BB. That and the DGW transfers, which meant Boly was first sub.

Haha maybe that's the kind of jinx we should work more on: jokingly expecting unrealistic targets Image

That McCarthy pen save was a nice stroke of luck tbh. That and then Lascelles keeping the CS was the perfect result for me in my ML as well.

Many thanks F4C, you're having a great season yourself! Especially since that double hit to bring Aguero in.

Also saw that you TCed Kun GW 5, which really should have got you more points. I always have time for Sergio and his FPL heroics Image

Aided by a nice BB, I'm close to my first century score. 98(-8) with KdB, Mahrez and Saka left.

Looking ahead to GW 30 and BGW 31, having used my WC, I'm not yet sure about the best direction forward. FH is the only chip I have left.

Don't really fancy GW 31 to be high-scoring and I feel focusing too much on it might be harmful. Moreover, Liverpool and Man City assets might be expendable sooner than expected.

Right now, the general idea is to replace them with Chelsea and Man United, maybe Aubameyang.. Man City have complicated things with their disinterested performances, allowing Liverpool to be champions much sooner than I thought. Imagine a second-string Pool side for 31 because they'd already won the league..

For now, I'm hoping Man City beat Arsenal at home.

Id certainly drive and navigate through GW31 and save the FH for 34 and try get 11 players with a Double game.

Ive got most of the main bases covered for the GW31 and happy with the 7-9 players i have lined up to play and still think i can get a green arrow if select the right captain

So, with FPL (and world safety) in limbo, I've decided to nit pay more attention to my work, rather dissect the season so far. Think this is a good opportunity to reflect on decision-making..

I'll start with a series of "Hindsights": looking back on views I had at the start of the season. Starting with the very first post.
SirMattBugsby wrote: Hey everyone! New season, and about time. I've realised this summer that I'm deeply addicted to FPL right now. It's that stage of addiction when you're not thinking, you just want the drug over and over. It just feels so right..

So any kind of discussion, I'm in. Summer transfers have struck my team already with Trippier leaving. Who saw that coming btw?

My early thoughts this season:

1) The heavy backline is overrated. Balance, people!
2) Got to have atleast 3 premium players for captaincy. Might mean compromises elsewhere but rather compromise on an 8 mil player than an 11 mil.
3) Identify the 9-10 mil player that will be a premium. Last season, that was Mane. KdB this time maybe?
4) Considering BB in GW1, but it might compromise my eleven and necessitate WC. So probably not.
5) Lacazette. Hmmm..

On a more general note, I'll try to limit my sources of info- and exposure to it- for better judgment. Let's see how blaming others works
1) It was, indeed, overrated.. or atleast not the essential thing it was being made out to be. Every season has its eccentricities and this season, a back 3 of TAA Soyuncu Lundstram was a winning one.

Not that I listened to myself: the cheapest def in my back 4 was 5.5 Image

2), 3) Yes, 3 premiums were optimum for cap, and yes, KdB was the 9-10 premium. I just wasn't open to the possibility of another 9-10 premium! That was, of course, Vardy.. I misjudged him and Leicester, which will be addressed in a later post.

4) Glad I didn't do that, glad when I did it. Get to keep staring at 98 points in isolation Image

5) Right price range, wrong player (Vardy!) Didn't go with Lacazette tbf, downgraded him to Wilson ultimately. Again, I chose a good price-range (Tammy, Jimenez), but thanks to a bigger mistake later on, lost it.

This is going to be loaded ImageImage In the words of a great man: Bstrd..

Glad to be back here! I've been playing some fBundesliga in quarantine time and seem to have developed a taste for points value.. No Lewandowski for me sir!

Team looks like this

Foster (McCarthy)
TAA VvD Baldock (Boly)
Salah KdB Mahrez Barnes
Vardy Jimenez Jota

The unlimited transfers and DGW are annoying to say the least. FH seems the sensible choice but I don't trust Arsenal and would rather have Barnes or Mount over Grealish. Plus my ML leader, 39 points ahead, is almost certain to FH.

So I'm thinking:

1) Transfers: Vardy->Aguero by downgrading Jota or VvD. I do think I'll get rid of them at some point, but this move does screw up their (important) price points, not to mention my team for the next week.

2) Risk going without Aguero: Very scary. Has great record against Arsenal, Burnley and Chelsea. Start 2 of them and I'm looking at least one likely haul.

3) FH, and live to fight another day: However, I'll still have atleast 5 from my original team, probably 6, maybe even 7!

4) (My favourite) Miss the deadline.. or maybe get one minute and do Jota->Pukki

PS: Anyone think Krul could be great for the run-in? I'm really backing Norwich to pull one off here..

Yep, me! I am considering Pukki for that reason and can also see Krul doing well. Also have him in my mind as back-up goalkeeper.

Haha yes, me three! I'm hoping to wildcard in GW33+ and Krul and Fabiański rotate sensationally well* for the last 6 GWs. Even playing in a team getting bad results most weeks, Krul has managed to return three double-digit scores, including a 16-pointer! The man is a penalty-saving maniac so here's hoping he gets to face a few of them in the run-in!

*Of course, it may turn out that focusing on a home/away rotation turns out to be a massive waste of time if home advantage is negated as it seems to have been in Germany.
