We've been pretty lax/pragmatic on RMT content for a while. MoSe often uses his RMT to store background data/stuff needed for his sidegames and other excellent graph-based posts (or extra info for the purists that would overly clutter those threads). And also his infamous graphs on his own personal minileagues, mixed in with a usual RMT. Certainly, that usage seems to serve a useful purpose for the forum, but, yeah, I noticed the new posts and opened the thread ready for the data-based joy, only to see blank posts for now. You tease MoSe.

My attempt to raise a point in what I thought was a light hearted way clearly fell flat - apologies  - and apologies for the unnecessary noise - dbl
(Darude - Before the Storm is an awesome album though)

As a fellow side-game nerd a message to MoSe...

It's OK, Romyn, Uncle MoSe gave me a little bag of "caramella fondente" a few days ago, you can have one of mine. AR can have one too. :)

By the way, this is what I meant by the kids coming around and making noise. He'll come in to do some grown up work on his sidegames or graphs and find a discussion of toffees. That kind of thing happens quite often. But we do also go "oooh" and "aaah" at the graphs (which most of us don't really understand).

FISO Elite and Forum League History

my, it's getting crowded at the back (page, where I store data...)
I'll have to bump the topic with a new post
still just parking data I'll maybe need later

spurred on by this

Did a dig through my old data - 2010/11 - and Erik Holm is FISOer Tusk

edit: Quick scan ... I can fill in a few more of your gaps as well - will send you a link to a list soonest.
and the list RPG PMd me,
I recalled I had already searched for old threads related to the Forum League,
in Divisionals History viewtopic.php?f=82&t=117547
but then forgot I had those links there and didn't cross-check there to see whether I could "resolve" some reference by Manager name and stick the proper username tag on this season forum League standings

most Fiso Official Mini-League topics were, and still are, posted by Spencer4
so here's a search for topics with Fiso in the name, Sp4 as author, in the sidegames subforum
search.php?keywords=fiso&terms=all&auth ... mit=Search
...14/15 appears to be missing... no wait, it's in the FPL main forum! viewtopic.php?f=18&t=111070&hilit=2014+15
and it only dates back to 09/10, so I relaxed the author query and browsed thru 6 pages of topic titles
found the 12/13 "duplicate" thread where DrB helped to organise things
viewtopic.php?f=82&t=96700&hilit=fiso
and the following
08/09 by viddelodge viewtopic.php?f=82&t=44092&hilit=fiso
07/08 none
06/07 by viddelodge viewtopic.php?f=82&t=10381&hilit=fiso
and this one which I actually got from the link I had in Divisionals history
05/06 by viddelodge viewtopic.php?f=18&t=145

it appears that after 12/13 when DrB helped compile the list,
in 13/14 some fisoers still "registered" in the topic but there was no more any username/team/manager list compiled (that I could find)
from 14/15 on it just announced the new join code but no registration took place anymore
I wonder how much the "kick you out if you don''t post who you are and your team" policy got actually enforced in the past, and when they stopped
in theory now (and since when?), you don't need to even be a Fiso MEMBER to join it,
you can be a stranger stumbling in the site and using the join code without even registering in FISO

I know that you can change the Manager Name in your account (I did it myself halfway this season to complete a joke with my new team name)
but it should be a rare occurrence, and crunching all those old data matching it by Manager Name with current unknown teams, we should get the ultimate who's who in Fiso fpl players

I'll of course start first with the 2010/11 list RPG already provided my in xls format :D
then we'll see

FPL 1718 Players season Data

Post by MoSe »

FPL doesn't report total appearances data (only individually checking in each player detail the Minutes Played, whether 0 or >0 in each game)
As I stated in the Sessegnon topic, as a quick fix, I had "reverse-engineered" them from Points and PGG fetched form FPL statistics.
The 1-digit FPL rounding tho left a 1 game margin of error with this method (say, 2.2 ppg cold have been 2.23 or 2.16, I went with the closer one)

Then I recalled that in FFS I had set and stored a Stats Personal Table (i.e. query) [only available to Members, btw membership expired & renewed today] for apps data
It required some work, because there were 90-ish name differences between FFS and FPL which had to be tracked down manually to match then the data from the different sources (FFS also reports 36 players you can't find now in FPL stats, as they had moved out of FPL in the winter transfer window)
But once smoothed that out, I found 30-ish errors in my "estimated" apps, which I could correct. :D
I won't update the above graphs for now tho, the differences in PGG were lower than 0.1 anyway.

Spurred on by blah, I went on gathering the single scoring items data from stats for all players (we're talking of course of season totals, not gw by gw)

My thread title does not say that.
(and btw, it was posted over 3 years ago)

"Parting the sea" does not mean "parting from the sea" or "parting with the sea" (i.e. leaving), it means "dividing" the sea.
As "parting your hair" does not mean you're leaving your hair.

It's explained in the dictionary entry I linked, did you bother to read it?
It's your own language after all
_________

I might as well change it anyway, as it's cause of so much upset in the many who misread it. ;)
Or maybe not. :P

I always read it as a play on words on the incident where God parts the Red Sea for Moses and his people (as per one of your links).

that was my intention indeed :)

And thanks for putting me back in my place:
over the years I became to shortcut it and consider as Moses did it on his own, but men don't have such powers, it's God who did it ;)

Maybe that's why I couldn't find a way to to ford FPL yet.
(top 6k was nice, but a lot of Fisoers did better, and it was 1 fluke in 4 seasons)
I haven't put enough faith in some FPL God ;)
