Well, not that low. About 30ish is my lowest, about 45 the best. But 30 is in my best team and it could so easily have been 100. Still kicking myself :(

Changed all my lineups Friday so Saturday players in the first 11 (RVP/Theo etc) with Suarez etc on the bench.
Expecting to see some decent scores my lineups are eff, RVP and Theo on the bench.

Are the Mail really that effing shit?

Looks like I'll be giving this up from tomorrow, shite game run by muppets.

No reply to my email last night, didn't touch any teams today, all top 1,000 but couldn't care less, I'm done with the Mail.

Just got this from the Mail....

The points for Saturday 29th December will be added to your team within the next week, please accept our apologies for the technical issue with your teams this weekend.

Kind regards

Daily Mail Football

Saturday players that I had put in but later appeared on my bench were...

Pele - Santon(-7) Cazorla(7) RVP(c)(18) = 18
Maradona - Santon(-7) Walcott(35) RVP(c)(18) = 46
Messi - Cazorla(7) RVP(9) = 16
Cruyff - Mertesacker(0) Cazorla(7) RVP(9) = 16
Platini - Vermalen(2) Cazorla(7) RVP(9) = 18

Good of them to reply, naughty of me to swear so much. Will keep my eyes open to when/if the points are added.

It's all gone quiet again.

Well, tonight went quite badly. I was really tempted to bring in, and captain, Walcott today but decided it wasn't worth using a transfer and captain change for what's really just one extra game. Plus the player I'd have replaced has been doing ok and has decent games coming up so I chose to stick with...............

Eden Hazard

A team in 670th has a provisional 63 points tonight! Wished I'd been braver. Shipped Pod out after his dose of manflu, will have to shift Hazard out too :x

How are people doing on their transfers, I'm burning through them with all thse 4 for 1's and 2 for 0's.

Yeah, there have been some good opportunties to make up ground with transfers. I've used more in January than I did in the first three months with the first lot of transfers.

I've got 11 left in my top team, but will have to use one to replace Hazard. Tempting to cut my loses and do the Walcott switch now, but I hate to bring in a player who leaves me 19 points worse off than if I'd brought him in yesterday. Think I'm going to have to go for someone else now :? It'd help me out if the new date for the Liverpool Swansea game (league cup final weekend) would be decided before the weekend....

I've got another side about 30 points back with 12 left and I think it's slightly better set up so that's probably my best side really. The rest are too far back.

The leader seems to have been getting unusually high scores every week since Christmas so he must have gone through a fair few....

Hazard suspended, Cech injured, Defoe injured, Luiz been out, Gibbs injured, Liverpool out of the cup, over extended on January's extra games has left me very short of transfers! Down to single figures in all teams.

Hopefully all the leaders are experiencing similar problems :?

The most annoying one for me is Defoe (in my 2nd best side). I started with Lambert but had a bit of extra money from another transfer so 'upgraded' to Defoe who I didn't have in my other teams and was scoring every week. I don't think he's scored a single goal since then, while Lambert has steadily raked up the points.

Any news on Luiz? There doesn't seem to be much info about him. It's looking like one of those 'short term' injuries that lingers on for weeks with no return date in sight....

Oh, I was expecting higher than that. 190 for the Hart and Mignolet pairing. It felt like I was scoring a lot less from the keepers than I should be but looks like it's fairly standard.

Quite a frustrating time for me in this. I planned out a few transfers that I didn't go through with that would have worked out perfectly. Went with an alternative plan to save a couple of transfers but it left me about 120 points worse off :(

In an effort to inject a bit of discussion to this board, who's been your worst/most annoying player? Early on in the season when Vidic got injured I was choosing between Zaboleta, Rafael, and Vermaelen for the replacement. You can guess who I went with

Art, for me Walker and Vermaelen have been poor VFM. Also Krul, Downing, Kompany, P Cisse to mention others. However I have observed, for the second year running, players I have identified pre-season but have been poor to average at start and then came good Nov onwards after I sold them e.g De Guzman who is excellent VFM now. Must 'hug the tortoise' for even longer next year....

I went for reds excellent tip of picking same city keepers and put Reina and Howard in 3 out of my 5.. My worst pick was Maveroux, saw him pre-season and he looked awsome. Starting to pick up points now but there no way he should have been anywhere near my teams.

Sentimental reasons saw me stick a Hartein too

Hey folks.

As win points are so important in this game who do you think is a better selection to have in your team between Milner and Toure?

Toure is a better player of course. Although he probably will play a lot deeper now with a lot more of City's creative players back from injury.

Milner is far cheaper but of course is a rotation risk, but should play in a more advanced role to Toure.

Any advice much appreciated.

Hi,

Unless you've got big plans for the saved money, I'd say definitely Toure. Even if Milner plays every game, which he won't, I'd still back Toure to outscore him.

hmmmm

Sods law I put in Toure. Still got an assist so not all bad. Thanks for the advise. I agree that Toure is the far safer pick between now and the rest of the season.

Unlucky fubu, I nearly advised Toure this morning too. I went Milner in another game as he was cheaper and all I could afford for Michu.

I have 4 captaincy changes left in one team and no transfers

To inject some life back into this forum are people willing to provide how many transfers and captain changes they have in there teams?

I have between 3-5 transfers left in my teams and 2-3 cc's

We know Wilbert has 0 transfers left and 4 cc's

Wow - can't believe how tight the top of the leaderboard is this year! Quite a few people clearly have a great chance of winning it and every point is going to count. I am clearly only a one season wonder (came 4th last year and am nowhere this year) however if there was one thing i learnt last year it was to not over-analyse/think too much about key decisions during these final few weeks. During this squeaky-bum time, it is easy for you to think about how to utilise your final changes a 'little' more than normal. I found that this, in hindsight, actually made me miss a really obvious 'optimum change' in the last 2 weeks  and this partly contributed to me plummeting from 2nd to 4th during this time.
Good luck to all of you, hats off to the contenders that are up there year after year and may the best manager win.

Looks likes this forums beyond help to be honest but I've got 4 transfers and 2 captain changes in my best two sides. More in my other squads but they're well off the pace.
