Left Drog in my teams but was aware of the news... have given Malouda the armband in one team (might be my best team) so hopefully he plays - I hadn't heard anything about him until now.

A few 25 point hits for me. Makes sense if you'll be shorthanded this week.

My top team has Drogba and Malouda on the bench. My aim is to have 11 players playing (Hopefully) which is why Elmander has replaced Drogba and Charlie Adam has replaced Malouda.

No 25 point hit required for myself. Malouda and Drogba may need to be shipped out in the coming weeks.

Yes I have Got Drogs/Lamp and Malouda in my top team.... Though for Manager of the Month, will make more sense to get 25pt Hit as 2 Players over one "should" get more point even with the Hit!! Then Again its never than Simple with Injuries and Redcards etc..

All things being equal anyone who will score more than an average of 50 points per game over the two games (25 point hit to bring in and 25 point to bring a player of your choice back) will give you a net profit figure even if you transfer them out straight away for further hits.

Mathematically you could also argue that the one free transfer this week and next week gives you an extra 50 points to play with so, for example, you make 5 changes this week and swap the same 5 next week they would only need to score 40 points per game per player to get you into profit.

It also allows the opportunity to get rid of some dead wood on the bench, change the balance of cost in your team to positions and plan strategy for the upcoming FA cup week.

I have not looked closely yet but looking forward to studying tonight over a nice cold Peronni (other quallity premium large bottled lagers, not necessarily in green bottles, are available) especially as the Metro consider using more than one transfer an abuse of their game.

Don't forget that you get an extra 5 transfers at the end of the January transfer window (I assume they will be effective from 05/02in the game), so you could bring some of the transferred out players back then, without being hit for a 25 point penalty, providing they are within your transfer allocation.

As I see things on the PL Calender, there are games as follows before the extra 5 transfer allocatin.

Weekend 22/23 Jan - Games for all PL teams

Midweek - 25/25 Jan - Additional games for 6 teams

Weekend 29/30 Jan - FA Cup 4th Round (Not Applicable to this game)

Midweek 1/2 Feb - Games for all PL teams

In my view if you bring a player in for for the extra games next week for a 25 point hit and assume you reverse the transfer without penalty for the 5/2 games (utilising the extra 5 transfers) the question is will that player brought in score 25 points more over 3 games than the player you took out over 2 games.

Bringing in a 40 average point per game player would score 95 points (40 x 3, less 25 point hit) compared to say 100 points for a 50 average point player taken out (50 x2) making some of the transfers marginal.

I am personally looking at some changes in the Midfield / Forward areas that might be beneficial but will leave the Defence alone. I also wish I knew Arsene Wengers rotation plans as I am expecting Nasri to be rested at some point over the next two weeks.

I've looked at my top team and know with a 50 point hit I will only have 4 players playing in this kind of double game week. Do people on here think 4 players is too light and perhaps i should look to take a 75 point hit?

Good point about the extra transfers WCV the T&C's say

Managers additional 5 transfers will be available from Tuesday 1st February 2011 and may be used and be eligible to score points from the Game Week starting Saturday 5th February at noon after which they will be forfeit.

so if you're prepared to carry the "double game players" for one game then your proposal is sound.

To clarify the FA cup point I was making - the gameweek starts before the FA kick offs so a lot of football to be played for some before the midweek games but we will have to make our selections before 12 on Saturday

Problem with DG weeks is, that if you decide to go ahead with a few of them, they really need to play both matches to benefit from them..

Will Rooney, Nani etc. Start both matches? I would say unlikely...

Top team - 2 Transfers made (25 point hit) -- 6 players for potential Double Gameweek. (Would have been 7 but for Rafael being suspended)

Second Team - 1 Transfer made (no hit) -- 6 players for potential Double Gameweek.

I could have made another transfer for a 25 point hit and taken Nasri out. However, I feel I just cannot justify this as Arsenal are playing Wigan at home and could easy get 80 points from one game. I Hope Nasri is not rested from a Fantasy Football point of view, but as a Wigan fan I hope he is (From a Supporters point of view)

PS - There is one team in the Top 100 that has 10 players playing in the Double Game week. I wonder what hit they have taken this week, plus they will have to carry these players with them into the midweek games on 1/2 Feb, before reversing the transfers (Or take another massive hit next week @ 25 points per Transfer.)

I took a 50 point hit to bring in Torres and Nani giving me an impressive 9 for midweek. If I'm not in the top 200 after that I'm giving up.....

I went crazy on hits. Nothing is long term with the extra transfers coming in soon.

I think only Howard, Baines, and Nasri survived the cull in any of my teams.

If the above from the Metro T&C is correct then it could have been better (should have gone with Berbatov but convinced myself he would be rested for one of the games) but could have been worse.

Blackpool - on paper a favourable fixture against West Ham at home so why not keep them? Will they keep them for the two home games w/c 12/2?
