Business on Facebook
I was wondering of anyone could help me out...
I have 2 businesses, one (a wedding guide) that's been going for 8 years and the other (a voucher code provider) which launched last year. One's been on Facebook for a couple of years, one a couple of months.
The thing is, I'm struggling to get either of them off the ground on FB. I've tried different post strategies, paying for advertising, quizzes, offers etc but with only a smattering of luck and a lot of expense! I guess my biggest problem is that I don't personally use FB as the whole thing just seems a complete waste if time to me, but appreciate that a business needs a presence on there.
Does anyone have any inspirational thoughts? Does anyone have experience at getting their own business off the ground on FB? Does anyone want to like either of the sites?
Any help/advice appreciated!

Try offering a free gift when one of the pages reaches a certain number of likes.

A common tactic is a "like and share to be in with a chance to win ...." thus giving you more exposure.

Put links to your page(s) on here too. May get a few extra likes and a little more exposure.

Re: Business on Facebook
Thanks for your thoughts so far.
The 2 Facebook pages in question are:
https://www.facebook.com/WeddingsdayLtd" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
https://www.facebook.com/VoucherCodeGuru" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The free gift/prize with a certain number of likes/shares is an interesting proposition - do you guys know of any pages (preferably small businesses) which have ran similar promotions so I can check out how they approached things?

Re: Business on Facebook
Yes I do know of such a page foreverengland.
My wife has her own small craft business making plaques. She had a free prize giveaway when she reached 250 likes and then another when she reached 500.
It seems very popular and will be doing another at another milestone.
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Personal ... 99?fref=ts" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
and then there is another - which doesn't seem as popular as it's really aimed at local people to where we live. We need 1 more like for 200.

Re: Business on Facebook
foreverengland, I have liked both of your pages. Feel free to return the compliment - even if its just to increase numbers as you don't use fb much yourself.

Re: Business on Facebook
We stuck £50 in the marketing budget for our works page and ended up with 300 likes over a couple of days.. worth doing especially as you can have the suggested post just appear in certain towns and can specify age ranges, male and female etc. Combo it with a like and share comp and you should do well out of it. If we could afford it we will do a much larger budget next time
