Wimpy are tight bustards! Went into the one at Lakeside Thurrock for a small cola, I swear it was close to two quid. Didn't want to cause a scene, though if I had I imagine it would have attracted more footfall.

Wimpy are expanding again. The branch in Shrewsbury is about to reopen.

 Are you suggesting there is causality between the two events Zim?
21.5 years later and I can remember it vividly.

Used to love Wimpy growing up.
The wimpy used to be across the road from McDonald’s in our town centre and i used to get something to eat their and all my mates preferred McDonald’s.

I’m thinking Wimpy didn’t bother with the gherkins? This was before I worked out you could simply pull them out before eating.

Wimpy Kingsize was better than the Big Mac at the time (less sauce and shit like that to scrap off).

Long after the demise (and the McDonalds convenience and saturation) I had the opportunity of a Wimpy; with fond memories and high hopes I was bitterly disappointed. It was tragically bad (like something from a crappy burger shack on blackpool prom.

Excellent news: we were thinking of going to one for a sort of "when we were kids memory" type of thing; and the closest one is 20 odd miles away
