HELLO THE TIMES FORUM!!!
evening all, TFF player normally but my mate just phoned and asked me to do his FF teams for in a work minileague, "no bother" says me safe in my TFF knowledge, only goes and drops the bombshell that it's actually the Times game -
so before I go read the rules (fully) couple of questions lads.
most urgently - when's the deadline? midnight or kick off tomorrow?
most importantly - what's the general hints and tips for playing this game, any "better" formations?
is it like other games in that cheaper playing defender from a big team is a good buy?
you know the kind of stuff I'm after - and idiotproof it please
will be back online later,
appreciate any comments, however obvious you think they may be!
cheers, Barry
p.s. - Love you guys

i'm only doing this for the 1st yr myself, being a tff and ofl veteran, but it seems that scoring, playing defenders are the way to go and theres plenty of value in mf gl

Re: HELLO THE TIMES FORUM!!!
Main points are that you're allowed players from some SPL teams, so Celtic and Rangers players should be good value but the other thing to remember is that Champions League and UEFA cup (not qualifying rounds) count so that sort of just leaves Celtic from the Scottish teams and Man C are not looking good value now either.

Re: HELLO THE TIMES FORUM!!!
Oh yeah, and you've got free transfers right up to the last minute! So expect some server problems with the game on Sat morning.

You can transfer a player in for a later kick-off
This is taken from an email from them....
You will be able to make transfers immediately after the first game is scheduled to kick off at 12:45pm on Saturday August 16th for the other games played that day at 3pm and/or 5.30pm if you wish to
All the best
Andy

I sent them an email asking about the issue last week and they replied with what I posted above

Re: HELLO THE TIMES FORUM!!!
its definately in the terms and conditions that a player starts scoring from the next premier league game.
i also sent them an email to confirm this and they sadi that you can transfer in a player to score in a later game on the same day.

I think its 4 games Barry.
This game could actually get quite involved.
I just hope that they dont make to many scoring errors with the complicated rules.
