FISO Rambling/hiking society

Post by Achiles74 »

Anyone interested in joining a hiking/rambling FISO society?
I would suggest one hike per month, either in Snowdonia, Peak District or the Lakes.
Ideally a mountain walk or such level.

So anyone up for joining?

No fee's/monies etc to be paid, completely free, just bring your walking boots, waterproofs and a packed lunch.

I will set up a thread listing 3 hikes which we can vote on if anyone is interested.

If I lived in the UK I would be up for this.

Possibly if I happen to be in the area at the time. Live in Inverness but still visit Lancashire regularly - so may be around but unlikely.
It's a good idea. Love Snowdonia Park but not been for yonks.

I'd be up for it but may have to wait for the Norfolk leg!

We do have hills you know!!

Seriously, if it happens and I can get there, I might give it a go - it's just all the really good walking is over 200 miles from me. Maybe if you get to Kinder - not exactly a mountain but good walking nonetheless.

Coming into the better weather in September/October, anyone fancy a meetup in Snowdonia one weekend?

Excellent, I imagine you will do Ben Nevis first, Scafel Pike and then down to Snowdon.

Are you trying to do it in the 24hrs?

Should be good :D a mate of mine did the 3 peaks, found it enjoyable but was knackered by the time he got to Snowdon.
The routes up Snowdon and Ben Nevis are fairly clear but Scafel Pike can be a ******* route finding at times.
