Can't see a challenge on here for 2500m, but I managed it in 9:31.6 today. That's a full 41 seconds slower than my best of 8:50 set years ago, but still I'm heading in the right direction.

My world record breaking time is still taking its affect on me, and despite going gym quite a few days a week, the rower isn't looking tempting to say the least

I managed 2k for the first time this morning and kept a steady pace to clock 9:02 for 2k. Carried on for another 500m for good measure so I'm pretty happy at 2:15/500m for now.

I quite enjoyed it as I was rowing alongside a guy with horrible technique, going hell for leather and doing over 3min/500m. I gave him a 450m headstart and caught him in about 7 minutes

And now I've got a time on the board so to speak I've got something to beat next time.

First attempt at 2k on level 10 - Registered 8:47.

I do a fair amount of running on the treadmill and outdoors but the rower is a real killer

I have to admire anyone who has done sub 8 mins (assuming it really is on resistence 10)

Valuable lesson learned today.
PACE yourself
started a 5K row but went off way to quick. At the 2K stage I was on a projected finish of around 2:15 which would have been around a 45 second improvement.
But as heading into the 3K point man oh man did I pay for that. Really blew up in second half finishing with a disappointing 21:24. Not troubling the leaderboard today
White / Marco - any tips around this subject ? Or is just self discipline ?

Just self-discipline I think (though I'm far from an authority!)

I did 5k in 22:59 the other day, having not rowed for ages and solely focusing on distance. Hopefully I can work on getting that down as I went sub-41 mins for 10k a few years ago.

In general though, I find it's extremely difficult to recover from going too fast on the rower, certainly compared to running, so consistency is the order of the day (maybe leaving a bit in the tank/giving it your all for a quicker finish if possible).

I haven't used the rower in a few years but might have a go next week again.

Back on the Concept 2 for some cross training. Aiming to beat my 2km time with a bit of training. Managed 4x500 metre intervals today at 1.49 pace each. Why is rowing so hard!

Is there still a league table for the 2km?
