Re: My Running Challenge
Nothing this week, have had lots of kids duties to make up for being away last week.
Plus my lad had an under7's trial with Southampton last night - that's taken up any spare energy I had. Good lad - although at under 7'a seems ridiculous.
Currently have sunday pencilled in, hoping for a six miler.

Re: My Running Challenge
Just over 2 miles tonight. Topping and tailing it, I did 2 miles exactly in dead on 19 minutes, with a couple of short, restful uphill walks in there. No hangover, bit of wind, not so hellish but hilly enough.arsene doesn't know wrote:4.18 miles in 42:16 at 10:07 pace.

Last run of the year - only 18-20 miles ran in Dec so I'll never join the 1000 mile (high) club!
Hope it stays dry so I do my ParkRun on New Year's morning. A bad forecast and I'll toast the bells properly instead!!

Re: My Running Challenge
I don't/can't set a mileage target - it is not my focus.Takeshi Kovacs wrote:murf - just set your own realistic target and join us with that?
Even doing just 2 short (2 and a bit mile) training runs in a week I can really feel it in my legs on Parkrun day so don't push it and never do 2 consecutive days. My body is past that
I also only run with my dog and I'm sure she doesn't want to run 10 miles in one go (even if I could) - and I don't want to devote the necessary hours (unless winning the lottery and retiring ).
My targets are therefore:
a) to keep it up!
b) steadily improve my Parkrun PB
c) stay in one piece so we can do some good walks in the Lake District in the summer.
That'll do for me.....
I admire you all/anybody doing significant miles, especially at my age plus, and wish I could. One of the things I should have done in life is run a marthon but I'll not be able to say that.
Stay healthy everybody

Re: My Running Challenge
Kids have an in service day, so as I have day off for child care took them to grandparents and snuck out for a daylight run.
6.15 in 1:02:12 at 10:07 pace.
Furthest distance for a couple of months, and less than 8 weeks to Bath Half now. Plan is to increase long run by mile or two each week.
Have left it a little late so just want to make sure I get round in reasonable nick rather than look for a pb.

Re: My Running Challenge
Yesterday
4.73 in 46:08 at 9:45 pace
Today
4.74 in 47:17 at 9:59 pace
Weirdly felt I was going faster today so was slightly disappointed when saw time. Never mind. Day of rest and recovery for me tomorrow.
