Man vs Flu

Post by Digsby »

Man vs Flu started on Wednesday with a bit of a sore throat. Throughout the day it got worse and worse, flu like symptoms emerged, shivers etc, and couldn't face the thought of eating. Went to bed at 8pm (having not eaten all day) with a dose of night nurse but even though I was drowsy, the whole night felt like I had razor blades in my throat.

Thursday was rough. I know my body and I just felt like I wasn't going to be able to ride this one out with paracetamol and kip and knew this would last at least a week. Reluctantly, I phoned the quacks and got an appointment that morning!

Antibiotics in hand, I went home and double-dosed with them and paracetamols with a night nurse chaser.

Woke up feeling miles better. Repeated the dose all day yesterday and even managed a little bit of pasta in the evening (1st food for 3 days).

Up this morning and near enough 100% having thought I'd be out of action for at least a week.

So, in this battle of Man vs Flu: MAN WON

Looks to me like the ref stopped the fight on Thursday.

Flu wins by TKO!

No drugs, no contest. I'd have had to take that Thursday night TKO without them.

Even if it is a victory then that is surely nullified by whining about it on an interweb forum :P
