JUST JOINED VIRGIN ACTIVE

Post by Footy66 »

I was a member at an LA Fitness on a short term membership b4 xmas. I have recently changed jobs and there is bugga all to do at lunch so decided to join a local Virgin Active so I can pump some iron on my break.

Virgin Active is a million miles ahead of LA Fitness.

LA Fitness:
The one I was at was quite small, not sure if they are all like that.
Grubby, looks like a working mens club from the outside.
Kids in the pool. Waves in the pool.
Everything is pretty basic.
Changing rooms are snug and u have wangers in your face everywhere u look.

Virgin Active:
Clean, modern building inside and out.
Has a mini restaurant.
Has beauty therapy if I want my nails done.
Changing room has heated flooring, music.
Pool and jucuzzi echo the plushiness of the building, both decent sizes.
Gym is huge.
You get a 60min fitness exam and a personal trainer writes a program for you.

Anyone had a bad experience with Virgin Active gyms?

My first impressions are pretty good. I pay monthly as don't want to commit to a 12 month contract so it's a bit pricey but then again it's only £7 more than LA Fitness and u get a lot more for your buck.
