Top Tips on Playing Darts Dream Team

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Basics

Our brilliant £50,000 Darts Dream Team is quite simply the best Fantasy Darts Game around . . . and it couldn't be easier to play.

All you have to do is pick a team of 10 Professional Darts Players from our list that you think will perform best during the six month Game.

You'll see that we've broken the list down into five categories, A, B, C, D and E .

Each player in your selected team will score valuable points depending on how they perform in each tournament. The scoring rules are very simple - check them out here.

You will see that you can not select Phil "The Power" Taylor into your team, instead your selected players will gain points depending on how they compare with his play.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tournament Format

Eligible Players can only score points in the post qualifying stages of the following 19 tournaments (“Eligible Tournaments”):

1. UK Open, 2. Players Championship (Hayling Island* - Double Event), 4. Players Championship (Las Vegas), 4. Las Vegas Desert Classic, 5. Stan James World Matchplay , 6. Peachtree Open , 7. Ireland Open Classic, 8. Windy City Open, 9. Players Championship (Wales), 10. UK Open Welsh Regional Final, 11. Players Championship (Ireland), 12. UK Open Irish Regional Final, 13. Skybet World Grand Prix, 14. Players Championship (Scotland), 15. UK Open Scottish Regional Final, 16. Pro-Tour Killarney, 17. Players Championship (Holland* - Double Event), 18. Grand Slam of Darts, 19. Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship.

* Note that Eligible Tournaments 2. Players Championship (Hayling Island) and 17. Players Championship (Holland) are double events. For both of these Eligible Tournaments one event will take place on the Saturday and a second will be played on the Sunday. Each of these individual events will be an Eligible Tournament for the purposes of the Game and will be scored in accordance with the Terms and Conditions. Therefore, for Eligible Tournaments 2 and 17 there will be two scoring opportunities.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Choosing Your Team

Study the lists of players by clicking on the five player category links and the crucial How to Score rules. You can view the players by Group A - E.

Clicking on a name in the list of players will bring up all the details you need to know, including individual's performance breakdown from last season and the current season, career major titles and Order of Merit position.

The player list is split into five categories. You will find our easy-to-use register page makes it a doddle to follow the simple selection rule for the game.

You must pick two players from each of the 5 categories, giving your team 2 players from Group A, 2 players from Group B, 2 players from Group C, 2 players from Group D, and finally 2 players from Group E.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Transfer Window

NEW: You can make unlimited free transfers to your team prior to 11:00:01 on 7th June

The Two Transfer Windows allow you to ditch any duds and bring in fresh talent. This is a vital opportunity to make sure you have as many players as possible still scoring you points in the final stages of the game.

You can swap up to a maximum of THREE players. And you must keep to the original format of two players from each group..

Say for example you remove a player from Group A, then you must bring in a new player from Group A, so that your team of 10 always has two players from each group.

Transfers do NOT take effect until the Transfer Window has closed.

You do NOT get points scored by your transferred players prior to the end of the Transfer Window. And any players you transfer out will have their scores frozen at this point as well.

To make transfers, simply log in and click on the Make Transfers button above your team.

The first Transfer Window will open at 00.00.01 BST on Wednesday 12 September 2007 and close on 11.00.00 BST on Saturday 22 September 2007, the second transfer window will open at 00:00:01 on Friday 30 November 2007 and close on 11:00:00 on 17 December 2007.

Top Tips on playing Darts Dream Team by Phil "The Power" Taylor

Study the form
On our website, you can find profiles of all 50 players with their records in the major tournaments, how they have done so far this season, and their head-to-head record against Phil Taylor. We also tell you exactly how far each player got in the big tournaments last season and this information could prove vital as you make your choices.

Change your mind!
If you enter your picks but change your mind before 11:00:01 BST on Thursday 7 June 2007, don’t worry – you can make unlimited ‘pre-scoring’ transfers through the Website, absolutely FREE!

Use the Golden Gamble
The Golden Gamble applies to all entries made between 12:00:00 BST on Thursday 7 June 2007 and by 11:00:01 BST on Saturday 16 June 2007. You will miss out on scoring points from the UK Open but if you wait until the tournament has finished before entering your teams, not only will you get a good idea of which players are in form, you also have the advantage of seeing the new order of merit, thereby knowing which players will automatically qualify for the Las Vegas Desert Classic and World Matchplay.

The last-16 and beyond
Many entrants will be scratching their heads when they look at the scoring system. Why do you get fewer points for winning a game at the business end of the tournament? The answer is twofold. History suggests that your pick has a greater chance of meeting Phil Taylor in the latter stages of the tournament – and a chance to bag a potential 40 point bonus for playing and beating ‘The Power’ – and also that the same names will get to the last-16 time and time again. By handing out more points for a win in the earlier stages, we’re trying to ensure the playing field is as level as possible.

Take your chances to Transfer
There are two chances to transfer – one in September and one in November (Click here for full details) – and these two openings to throw out the old and bring in the new could be invaluable if you are to scoop the massive prizes on offer. Don’t put up with underperformance – bring in fresh talent and boost your Darts Dream Team.

HOW TO SCORE IN DETAIL: Eleven Easy Steps by Phil "The Power" Taylor

To maximise your scoring chances, have your entry in via the phone or the web before 11:00:01 BST on Thursday 7 June 2007

There are a lot of events and not every player will score points in every tournament so study the player profiles on our website and see how they’ve done in the past to get the best picks from each group

Each of your player picks will score 8 points for every game they win before the last-16 stage in all of the eligible tournaments

Each of your picks that win a game in the last-16 or beyond of any eligible tournament will score 5 points

If the tournaments are any of the following: UK Open, Las Vegas Desert Classic, Stan James World Matchplay, Skybet, World Grand Prix, Grand Slam of Darts or the Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship , the points scored in 3 and 4 are doubled, so, 16 points for a win before the last-16 and 10 points for a win from and beyond the last-16

If any of your picks plays Phil Taylor in any round of any eligible tournament, they score 10 points

If any of your picks beats Phil Taylor, they will score 30 points

If any of your picks wins a game in any given round of an eligible tournament by a bigger margin than Phil Taylor manages in the SAME round, they will score 7 points

If Phil Taylor does not take part in a round or the margin of difference is equal then no bonus points will be awarded. Where a player proceeds to the next round due to a bye or through the match being forfeited then that player will receive 8 points if the round contains more than eight scheduled matches and 5 points if it is a subsequent round. In the event both players are unable to play any round for any reason, including abandonement of the match, then no points will be awarded.

Don’t worry if you want to change your initial picks before 11:00:01 BST on Thursday 7 June 2007 because up until that point, you can make unlimited ‘pre-scoring’ changes – absolutely free!

Use your transfers! There are two transfer windows and these will give you the perfect opportunity to ditch your duds and bring in some fresh and proven talent. There are two transfer windows in September and November.
