I'd be amazed if your average born and bred Brit could score 75% on those questions. There's 20-23 for a start and I've never heard of Maiden Castle (4). Couple of others I'm not sure about as well.

Now it makes even less sense to me. I've never described anyone (let alone everyone) as "Britain" or "British Isles". And I'm pretty sure there isn't a country in the British Isles where you could describe everyone as "British".murf wrote:It says the answer is NI which I thought was wrong (not part of GB)tedbull wrote:Q16 has no answer.

Re: life in the uk test (just for fun )
Scotland, Wales and NI are former nations\countries owned by England, which is now (Great) Britain.
The CI and IoM etc are Crown Principalites(?); I don't think they have MP's; but have their own Parliaments; and I do not think their taxes are paid into the Westminster kitty... In effect they are similar to Gibraltar and the Falklands.
However CI, IOM and Ireland including Eire are part of the British Isles, as this is all the islands around Britain?
EDIT: This is the point about Scotland et al having their own football sides, and why the rest of Europe\World have wanted only one British side. Yes strangely they would be more open to the IoM having a side than Scotland (until the Referendum), Wales and NI.

Not official
@ unc.si. Thanks for providing link to the above quiz.
As feared, this isn't a good example of the Citizenship Test, possibly because it has been produced by an independent, unofficial body. Some of the questions seem to be poorly-phrased and/or not in the format used in the real exam, eg:
The official 'Life in the UK: Guide for New Residents' handbook is published by the Stationery Office, TSO, on behalf of the Home Office. In my experience, its accompanying practice questions are fairer and simpler (an applicant would never be asked to select four from seven options in the actual test).
