With 1 GW to go in Round 7:
In a low scoring week sibrown4 was the clear top scorer with an excellent 69, pulling back 10MPs to level Match40 against Oxford NZ 10-10.

Re: FISO SWISS CUP 2018/19 - Game Thread
Updated scores for GW28 and the final results and standings for Round 7, as well as the Roll of Honour, are posted on page 1 and repeated below.
In our top matches:
Match 1: It's a bad time for Neath boy to take his first loss of the season, but it's a 19-1 beating as ajcairns takes his 7th win.
Match 2: A late comeback from Taca, but it's not quite enough as Trickster1 takes it 12-8.
Match 3: Another attempted late comeback comes up just short as Tall Paul holds off Chinese Whisperer 11-9, despite the whisperer scoring 283 points over 4 GWs.
Match 4: bspittles was left with too much to do against thebillfella, who finished up the 14-6 winner.
In other matches:
There were eight 20-0 whitewashes: Talkie Toaster in Match 8, froog in Match 15, wahine in Match 37, RichH6109 in Match 51, Mystery in Match 52, blah in Match 53,ThingsCouldgetMessi in Match 59 and Zimbo in Match 65.
There were 2 tied matches (Match 45: llama v nevblake and Match 54: Multiple Scorgasms v velcro)
Top scorer for the week was Mystery, who scored 94 in his whitewash of kgbbg. This is Mystery's 2nd top score in Round 7 in which he scored a total of 304 points!
With Neath boy and Tacalabala both losing their unbeaten records there are now only 2 left - The 100% ajcairns and woody71, who is quietly notching up victories while keeping out of the fray in the top matches.
Taca finds himself back at the top table next round, despite his loss to Trickster1.
At the other end of the table, Sport Billy gets his first win, meaning everyone has at least 1 point in the Roll of Honour. In bridge terms: everyone leaves the tournament with at least a quarter of a green.

Results for GW29 are updated on page 1.
It's early doors in Round 8. Here's how we've started off:
Match 1: Tacalabala gets off to a good 8MP head start over ajcairns.
Match 2: Stemania takes a small lead 4MP over Trickster1.
Match 3: Talkie Toaster jumps out to a 10MP lead over Tall Paul. I think I'm going to need it!
Match 4: There's only the width of a playing card (1MP) between thebillfella and FingerPass at this early stage.
Top scorer this week was primitive man on a very good 67 for the week, just pipping Stena Bib on 66.

Match 3: Tall Paul pulls back 6MPs against Talkie Toaster.
Match 4: There's now the width of two playing cards between thebillfella and FingerPass as FingerPass gets another 1MP and leads 2-0.
baganboy may have been quiet lately, but his team isn't as he top-scores this week with 90 points.

Re: FISO SWISS CUP 2018/19 - Game Thread
Results for GW31 are updated on page 1.
With the round about to finish on a DGW there's still plenty to play for.
Match 1: ajcairns takes a commanding lead against Taca by pulling out another 12MP. The score is now 22-8.
Match 2: Trickster1 pulls a couple back from Stemania to make it 9-2 and keep things interesting.
Match 3: Talkie Toaster find another 7MPs to lead Tall Paul by 17-6.
Match 4: thebillfella halves his deficit against FingerPass, but as they appear to be playing in binary, that means the score is now 2-1 (or should that be 0010 - 0001?).
There are a few more guests in the Pipe and Slippers Lounge: Swagat 08, bspittles, Clueless24, Cheweybacca and 1albert. There are a few others who are as good as there too.
Top scorer this week was Chinese Whisperer with a 63 in Match 8. He still has work to do in his match against sdhough, but this performance has set him up with a chance.

The results from GW35 are posted on page 1.
Match 1: Stemania continues to extend his lead and now has a 14-0 MP advantage.
Match 2: FingerPass pulls back 6MP so it is now all to play for with Swagat 08 leading by 8-6.
Match 3: dino1980 levels the tie with an 8MP swing.
Match 4: Tacalabala takes 14MP and has the tie pretty much secure at 21-5.
The Pipe and Slippers Club lounge is looking rather empty at the moment. There are a few hanging around by the door, but there are doubts that their subscriptions have been up to date.
Top scorer of the week was hiragii with 133 giving him a good 22-12 lead over Geoffv.

Updated scores for GW36 and the final results and standings for Round 9, as well as the Roll of Honour, are posted on page 1 and repeated below.
The top 27 places in the standings received bonus points in the Roll of Honour for their finishing position.
In our top matches:
Match 1: It's heartbreak for ajcairns in the final round as not only has his 100% record gone, but the defeat was big enough to knock him out of the playoff places as well. Really bad luck at the end of a great season. stemania meanwhile tops the standings going into the playoffs.
Match 2: Two great scores in the final GW, but swagat 08 holds on over Fingerpass and makes the finals.
Match 3: Neath boy just sneaks it over dino1980, but neither of them make the finals as they both take points off each other.
Match 4: Talkie Toaster gets a little bit back, but Taca was always comfortable in this one and goes into the finals.
In other matches:
There were five 20-0 whitewashes: sdhough in Match 6, Archy in Match 14, TriXaM in Match 19, sibrown4 in Match 43 and TerryB1975 in Match 60.
There were 3 tied matches (Match 5: Tall Paul v bspittles, Match 54: DAREEL v the pom and Match 63: Droughton v Red, White & Black)
Top scorer for the week was Aldershot Rejects, who scored 133 in his 14-6 win over Isalla.

Re: FISO SWISS CUP 2018/19 - Game Thread
The lineup for the semi-finals is:
Semi-Final 1
Stemania vs Swagat 08
Semi-Final 2
sdhough vs Tacalabala
A quick reminder of the rules:
Good luck everyone
Semi-Final 1
Stemania vs Swagat 08
Semi-Final 2
sdhough vs Tacalabala
A quick reminder of the rules:
At the end of 9 Rounds (GWs 1 to 36) the top 4 Teams in the standings shall qualify for the Semi-Finals, to be played in GW37, with the top ranked team playing the 4th ranked, and the 2nd ranked playing the 3rd ranked. The winners of the Semi-Finals will play in the Final in GW38. Restrictions on not playing the same team more than once do not apply in the Finals.
Both the Semi-Finals and The Final are straight single GW contests. Most fpl points scored (after transfer cost is deducted) wins.
In the case of a tie there shall be a penalty shoot-out.
Penalty Shoot Out
In the Penalty Shoot Out the 3 Forwards in each team, regardless of whether or not they were on the bench, are ranked from highest GW score to lowest and compared with their counterparts in the opponent's team. The highest scores a penalty and is awarded a 'Score' and the lowest a 'Miss'. If they are tied then both score.
This is then repeated for the 5 Midfielders in each team.
Finally the active GW Goalkeeper for each team are compared and the higher of the two will be awarded a 'Save' which converts one of the opponent's 'Score's to 'Saved'. In addition each fpl save bonus point which the Goalkeepers earned in the GW will result in another 'Save'.
The number of 'Score's remaining are then totaled up to determine the winner.
If scores are still level then the process is repeated for the 5 Defenders, but no further GK 'Saves' are awarded.
If scores are still level after all of the Penalties then the higher ranked team during the season's 9 rounds is declared the winner.
Good luck everyone

Cheers TT - I thought it only right I stepped aside for the playoffs as I was way above where I should have been in reality, with my OR and pts I'd fluked it this far. Well played everyone.

Semi-Final Results
A -4 transfer hit is the difference in this tie, handing it to Stemania.
It's a similar story in the second Semi-Final, but this time the hit levels the tie up:
...and penalties are needed to resolve it:
Taca's guy's have been practicing their pens as they score with 6 out of 8, and their keeper Ryan contributes with 3 saves to win the shoot-out with a comfortable 6-1.

Taca's guy's have been practicing their pens as they score with 6 out of 8, and their keeper Ryan contributes with 3 saves to win the shoot-out with a comfortable 6-1.

The Final - Result
Many congratulations to Stemania for battling through 9 Rounds of the Regular Season, A Semi_Final and then a Final to come out on top as the inaugural Champion in the Swiss Cup.
Hard luck Taca, you fought well, in and around the top matches for most of the campaign.
Points earned from the Finals have been added to the Roll of Honour.

Re: FISO SWISS CUP 2018/19 - Game Thread - Stemania is the Champion!
Yay, many thanks for the organisation TT.
Can't believe I even made the final after my dismal showing across 36/37. Unlucky Taca.
