Motor Cycling news items
I thought I'd start a thread devoted to various items of news relevant perhaps to the MCN Road Race game, so any titbits please on team / rider changes or anything relevant really to MotoGP, World Superbikes and Britsh Superbikes.

Ilmor to pull out of Moto GP temporarily
The temporary withdrawl of racing teams tends not to usually be too temporary. Hope I'm wrong in this case.
World Superbike race 2 results amended
Don't get over excited JT-fans. The organisers have swapped 8th and 9th place around. If Mr Green is reading could you let us know if this affects the league (and does anyone have these two anyway!!)

Phew...Due to lack of knowledge, I put McWilliams (cheapest rider) into 1/2 my teams only to see sense at the last minute and bring in BarrosMystery wrote:Ilmor to pull out of Moto GP temporarily

Cheers John - you too.
I was slightly tempted by the Ilmor twins however too much of their pre-season reminded me of the rather lame WCM Bimota effort of a couple of years back. Seems like they're going the same way too which is a shame.
Especially since Ilmor can clearly design a bloody good bike engine. Below are the list of top speeds achieved per rider in Qatar.
Stoner (Ducati) 324.7kmh
Capirossi (D) 323.5
Hofmann (D) 322.6
Barros (D) 319.5
Pedrosa (Honda) 317.9
Hopkins (Suzuki) 313.1
McWilliams (Ilmor) 313.0
Hayden (H) 312.5
Nakano (H) 312.2
Elias (H) 312.2
Jacque (Kawasaki) 311.3
Checa (H) 310.3
Tamada (Yamaha) 310.1
Rossi (Y) 309.9
Guintoli (Y) 309.2
Vermeulen (S) 309.0
Melandri (H) 308.5
Roberts (KR "Honda") 308.5
de Puniet (K) 308.1
Edwards (Y) 307.9
Pitt (I) 307.3

Re: Motor Cycling news items
Early news on the 2009 season
Repsol Honda sign Dovizioso to be Dani's pet -- or will he be? Should be a better benchmark than Hayden, if only because the team soooo didn't get along with Nicky.
Can Ducati run 2 quick bikes? Hayden gets to play Stoner's team mate in 09
Yamaha and Suzuki unchanged and the stronger for it.
Alice Ducati is being brought more in-house by Ducati after the departure of Luis d'Antin and they sign Mika Kalio from 250s and Nicola Canepa from Ducati's testing programme. Seriously unproven line up all round.
Takahashi gets a crack on what used to be called JiR Honda. Could be a baptism of fire and crashes.
The return of Gibernau on a Ducati bringing new sponsorship and a new team with him. Might be fascinating or embarrasing. I don't think anyone really knows.
In lower categories, Danny Webb and Scott Redding re-sign for their 08 teams and Brad Smith tries to avoid crashing bikes for "Aspar" whose team he rejected last year in favour of the Polaris World machines. With Mike di Meglio moving up to 250s we could really see British challengers this season as they've all got works rides.

Re: Motor Cycling news items
Some early 2010 Moto GP news
Ducati unchanged next year with Hayden being re-signed
Suzuki will be Capirossi with Bautista moving up the categories
Lorenzo stays with Yamaha
Barbera moves up to MotoGP with new Aspar Ducati team
Everybody else
In short: Honda probably unchanged, Tech 3 Yam no news yet, Gresini is Simoncelli & Melandri, No news on LCR Honda, Hayate Kwakka most likely folding, Pramac Ducati are auditioning candidates now while Kalio is subbing for Stoner, Talmasci might stay with Scot but no real news.
