Velogames - Spring Classics 2019

Post by sibrown4 »

With the first monument looming on the horizon this Saturday with the Milan-San Remo the Velogames Spring Classics Competition is open for entries.

This is the only Velogames Competition where transfers are permitted and given ( for obvious reasons). This year you have unlimited transfers between the races.

I see they just brought this alternative game with limited squad transfers out today. Whilst I agree it is a better format than unlimited transfers with just a day's notice don't want to risk confusing matters with a separate competition ( its not part of the season comp)

Agree too short notice, but not a fan of unlimited transfers. Ruins the game imo!

Missed the start of this - flat out with work at the moment.
Will still be watching Holy Week though (although I'll miss de Ronde - sat on a 'plane - will watch it on catch up though).

So - De Ronde. Sagan looking a bit short of form, but its Flanders... GvA similarly, but you can't count him out. Naesen, van Aert, Stybar. All good options for the win.

Would love it if van der Poel won though. How many people have won at their first attempt?? Wout or Van der Poel would be awesome - new generation

Update after the Scheldeprijs and the latest DQS Team win from Jakobsen.

2175 points. Sexual Wheeling. Terry V. Bullen

2075 points. Cardiff Ajax CC. Ian Herbert

1735 points. Lee Van Cleat. Cardiffdaffs

1650 points. Okely Dokely. Patrick Horne

1540 points. Old Trafford Cycling. Canto

1500 points. Peloton Brief. Simon Brown

1390 points. St Albans CC. GeoffV

1140 points. POM Racing. The Pom

PS Not really enjoying the new format of unlimited transfers. Squad management is a key part of the game. I appreciate they did launch a limited transfers game but literally a day before the off.

Have joined the league. Didn't realise we were still doing new leagues every comp rather than one for the season. (Has it reverted back to the old way?)

Much prefer the classic game - even though I missed the first race due to not realising it was a different game. Was 4th overall at de Ronde and 10th overall in Scheljerpris.

Si

I think this will get messy with so many leagues and a maximum of five shown at the bottom meaning having to leave a league to see it on screen ( if you know what I mean). If we stick to one league for the rest of the season - each separate competition will generate an individual league.

Ok so wrap70time for this year’s Spring Classics after yesterday’s final monument of the Spring season the Liege Bastogne Liege. Won by Jakob Fuglsang. Winner was yours truly from MVL. Really close and went down to the final race.
