I'll be in but the site won't let me pick at team at the minute - all the drop down boxes are unresponsive. Will have to try again later.

Might have a look later (If I can remember my login - seems to have stopped logging in automatically for me and I can't remember my user name let alone password).

Goes within about 100m of my house this year. Last time they were in Nottingham a load of guys from the club went down to the hotel where the Death Star was. Wiggins and Cav were the nicest guys you could imagine. Bidons handed out, photo's taken with the kids. All genuine as well. If anything the Team Sky 'bots were trying to stop them and get them on the bus to get to the race rather than telling them they had to be nice to people. Quite refreshing

In.

I'm about half an hour from both the stage 4 finish and the stage 5 start but can't get to either due to work. Agree on Cav/Wiggo/most of the pro's. When the National RR championships was held up here in 2011 you could mingle with anyone of them round the buses and they were happy as larry about it posing for photos and generally chatting (the mechanics weren't though when anyone got within about 6 feet of a rack of bikes  ). Went down to the leazes crit the night before too, (Hammond pipped Dowsett). Cav was supposed to be riding it but got (rightly) pulled out when they saw the circuit  given it was right before the TdF - he still turned up though and spent about 2 hours signing kids gear.

The race book entry for tomorrows stage has this entry for Winnats: Warning - fast descent with Sheep! :D

Thought my time was up coming down Winnats about 20 years ago. Car pulled out of the car park at the bottom. Still no idea how I missed it.

So yesterday EBH out climbs Wout Poels, then Wout Poels out sprints EBH. Go figure.

Had big hopes for Tao Geoghegan Hart yesterday, then he got his handlebars hooked at the start of Hartside.

It's the Vuelta.

The home of the unexpected result (cough, Horner, cough)

Hit just over 55mph on a descent in Wales a couple of years back - held the Strava 'king of the mountain' on it for a while.

Did wonder afterwards what might have happened if I'd come off at that speed...

it certainly is, but the winner of Hartside in a vuelta stage would be unexpected

race is all over the place today

splits practically from the off - 6 out in front a minute ahead of the 24 strong yellow jersey group, then 24 minutes to the rest of the race

Did clock 50 once heading into Brighton just after struggling up Ditchling Beacon at the end of the London - Brighton charadee ride.

Also had a rear blow out going downhill off - road at 35 once. The woman at the bottom wasn't overly happy about my failure to slow down.....

It's been some time without a podium finish so glad to have topped the Tour of Britain after poor performances in the Grand Tours this year.

well done Neath Boy, some inspired picking there. I didn't even consider Owain Doull for a second - thought 'track rider' and just mentally skipped over him. Find out since he turned down a contract from Europcar last year (probably a good thing to do...)

Cheers Moist. I know his uncle and the fact he turned down Europocar contract and he was in great shape. He rode well in British RR champs too.

I haven't had a great season in the Grand Tours this year so nice to win something this season!

Spent ages formatting the Vuelta ones then intended to do the same for ToB but knew I was short of time and then just lost the inspiration for some reason upon opening the results page.....

yes, its a pain the format you get pulling the league from the site, I've got the other 2 GT's to do to keep the records up to date.
