I was slightly annoyed that I hadn't managed to find the time to put in an entry for this (don't like to enter without doing some research - thansk for the invite though Sam).

My shortlist of 'must haves' did include Clijsters who hadn't been beaten at the US Open for donkeys years and I'd scrapped Laura Robson because of her likelihood of facing Clijsters in Round 2. So my annoyance has abated!

In case you own them I would like to point out my thoughts may also have cursed Serena, Azarenka and Murray.

In the respective second rounds to date, half the women's singles matches but just one of the 32 men's singles ties have been played. Weather permitting, the women's second round and 15 of the remaining 31 men's matches will be completed on day four, Thurs.

Although Fiso standings have swung widely - and some have enjoyed their day in the sun on Mon and Tues - it looks likely, imo, that the mini-league winner will emerge from one of the current lead quartet.

Although it is nice to be top for a little while - looking at his team right now, I reckon I am just waiting to be knocked off first place by yorkshiredragon - great team by the way, picking wildcards was definitely the way to go this tournament.

Regarding the champions race, very surprised I am even close to the top of this considering the bad picks I had for Wimbledon. I must have been more than 100 points behind the leader at the start but it seems that he/she had the same crap players I had at Wimbledon . It is nice to get an unexpected lead.

However, it is very unlikely imo that I will stay top as the second place player has a much stronger team - I could have done without Isner going out last night, I really needed an extra 30-40 point lead to try to hold him off if I could - not to be.

At the moment, I have extra players Del Potro and Raonic compared to his Federer and Roddick. Federer should easily get more points from now on compared to my players imo - tried my best though.

I think I should be in the top 3 though in champions race by the end which means that, hopefully, I get a nice prize.
