Each round, you must pick one tennis player from each of the bands presented to you. We present a limited number of players grouped by ranking for Rounds 1-4, then each side of the draw for Quarter-finals onwards. Your challenge is to predict which of the players will do the best in each band.

So we are trying to guess who will thrash their opponent by the most??

Looks like there will be 4 bands, 2 men, 2 women, one containing the top 8 (ish) and one the next 8 (ish).

Sounds easy to enter if not, necessarily, do well!

EDIT - looking at the point system it doesn't seem to matter if they thrash the opponent (no negatives for games conceded etc and they will all win the same number of sets and virtually the same number of games (as it excludes games in sets lost they will all get 12-14 women or 18-21 men so thrashing is actually bad and you want to win 7-6 or 7-5  ) but you get bonus points for lots of aces and good stats. Hmmm.....

Jeez, Murf ... good analysis ... pasted from website:

The game is designed to reward players according to their real life performance on the court, and aims to be as simple and transparent as possible.

POINTS
Match won 1
Net sets won 1 per set
Net games won 1 per game in set won
5 aces 1 per 5 aces
First serve 60-69% 1
First serve 70-79% 2
First serve > 80% 3
Break point conversion 50-59% 1
Break point conversion 60-69% 2
Break point conversion > 70% 3

Have they changed this? The only points given I can see are:

Net sets won - e.g. if a player wins a game by 3 sets to 1, the player gets 6 points. 3 per set
Net games won - e.g. if a set finishes 6-4, the winner of the set gets 2 points. 1 per game in set won

It says you'll retain the previous round's picks if you don't make any (as long as they're still in).

I'm winning :D despite having Murray (not played yet) to the Djokovic (15pts) of the 3 closest to me

murf: 30
3 chasers: 28
rest: 10-17
trampie & McBear: 0

That is probably more a reflection of how many picks have got points, than my genius, all picks getting 13-17 so far (except one dodgy Pliskova 10 pointer for Sport Billy)

You pick for rounds 1&2 then 3&4. Anyone who had Bouchard is doomed

Ah, didn't realise that! All my picks were based on some serious, in-depth research into who was playing the biggest donkeys in round 1. Round 2 didn't come into it.....

I think I understood that rounds 1&2 and rounds 3&4 were paired from the start, and like Murf after serious analysis I looked to those with the easiest run into the QFs and the greatest donkeys of opponents ... so I cannot explain or find a reasonable excuse for my abysmal or at best mediocre performance

Ho hum ... c'est la vie
