Fantastic game this! Pittsburgh could’ve been 28-0 down and now it’s somehow 21-21!

As for the prediction league, might as well just back whoever is playing Buffalo..

They seem to have done an impressive job of dismantling a borderline play-off squad there.

Watching the rather drab Eagles match - as above loads of Defence. A few long rangers and a missed FG leave the Eagles 13 down at h-t.

Sod anyone vs the Bills, the Jets are 20 down to Miami - the Lions must be really SHITE?

I'm tempted to switch to the Browns

12-3 up now (missed Extra Point). Is their non-winning run the longest ever?

I sense more craziness before this match is over

T'was why I watched the 1st half, and the Eagles running game can't carry Foles, who admittedly did hit a few passes, but not enough.....

12-10 to the Browns now, nfl.com hasn't updated.

Oh dear: Browns throw an Interception at 12-10 up with 5 mins to go from their own 30-ish.

Soon to be 17-12.

Bills almost on a comeback path?

As a Bengals fan, a 1 game division lead after two games is very sweet.

Missed FG

I guess that Clock Management is beyond them as they are just desperate for points - but seriously, I may as well kick for them.

Is this to be the Year of the Tie? They predicted it last year after the reduction of overtime to 10 minutes, and there weren’t any, but now we’ve had two in as many weeks. No season since the introduction of overtime has seen more...

Foles probably proving what people thought about him previously, a good backup capable of putting together a hot streak as a starter every few years. Had Wentz been ready earlier, Philly may well have cashed in and some team desperate for a QB would have got their fingers burned giving him a long term starter-level contract.

He does have as many Super Bowl rings as Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees, though...

Yep, although they were saying that Wentz's return\recovery is more about the next 10-15 years than the next however many matches. Two matches later and BOOM

A bit like the rookies who they say will start late in their first season, or early in the second... the veteran/stopgap has a crap game or two and they invariably throw him in. They fear a lost season pretty early on.

Strange how players can be cast aside so quickly (kickers more so than anyone!) but head coaches typically last a fair bit longer than Premier League football managers (9 current ones have been in place longer than the PL’s longest serving boss, Eddie Howe) and are very rarely sacked during the season, except maybe with a game or two to go.

And cast aside in pretty brutal fashion as well Image

Vikings pick up Dan Bailey, who turned down four other moves before joining Minnesota. Good signing but do feel for Carlson (and Gonzalez)

I did think that about the Browns kicker with something like 0/2 EP and 2/4 FG.....

My guess is that the "plays" are more all encompassing, detailed etc so replacing them is complicated and disruptive? Also a fair whack make the Play Off's, which represents success and hope for the following season...

Also there’s no relegation to fear, and while owners won’t admit to wanting to “tank” an already lost season to get a high draft pick, fans certainly will on occasions... even if one rookie signing is rarely a magic bullet for success, and can equally be an expensive bust, especially when thrown into a poor team.

Some failing teams do get into the habit of changing coach nearly every season, but it seems owners find it tough to move on from a long-serving coach even when results are patchy, particularly when they have an established franchise QB they’ve been working with for years (see Pittsburgh, Green Bay, New Orleans, Cincinnati...) Plus I suppose co-ordinators are easier fall guys, which there’s no direct equivalent to in “soccer”.

Tyrod in the medi-tent, Baker Mayfield comes on to inject some life into this Browns offence. Second half should be very interesting!

Not sure it was quite a Foles\Phillie, as he didn't touch the ball before the catch? But to my untrained eye, he looked a vast improvement on the injured bod.

Shame it was on at silly o'clock here as I'd have watched it, especially after the second half of the last one, which was akin to the Keystone Cops

I'm far from sure about the new kicker, as he faded one and drew another in golfing terminology, which more than hints at inconsistency. They also had another punt charged down

From the Link if you go to the Mayfield interview there is a brilliant post\comment
