FISO NFL SEASON 8 - match reports

Post by Rick Spangle »

WEEK 1 - SCORES IN PROGRESS

Barry Crockers 76 @ 89 Crystal Tipps - YTP C.Johnson, Lions DST (both Tipps)
Tipps have this one, and a good chance of breaking the 100 points barrier in week 1 with the top WR in the game still left to play, as well as the Detroit D. Dolphins 2nd string RB Knowshon Moreno (according to the Miami depth chart; can't see that staying that way for much longer) totalled 19 points, and good scoring too from QB Andrew Luck (25) and TE Vernon Davis (16). Crockers had their eye on the ball, benching Cam Newton and were unsurprisingly (!) able to pick up backup QB Derek Anderson who had a nice game with 18 points. Low double digit scores from RB CJ Spiller, TE Rob Gronkowski and the Panthers DST - but not enough this week.

X-Men 65 @ 88 Portsmouth Pirates - YTP R.Bush, Cardinals DST, N.Novak (all X-Men)
A bit of ground for X-men to make up, but plenty of ammo left with three players playing on Monday night. For the Pirates, no real standout performer (QB Jay Cutler best with 18), but a good all-round total - will it hold up? That's up to Reggie Bush, the Cardinals D and SD kicker Nick Novak who need to total 24 between them. RB Marshawn Lynch (thought by some to be going over the hill and a draft bust - could never see it myself) collected 24 points with a 100+ yard performance and 2 TDs, and QB Nick Foles and TE Martellus Bennett added 14 and 13 respectively.

Get It Right Next Time 75 @ 99 Cornish Tinners - YTP L.Fitzgerald (GIRNT), C.Palmer, A.Ellington (both Tinners)
Looks like a comfortable win for the Tinners even if the questionable Andre Ellington doesn't suit up - Fitzgerald would have to outscore his QB by 25 points even if Ellington didn't register a single point. Tinners had the star of the week - Denver TE Julius Thomas who went over the 100 yard reception mark and scored 3 TDs for 28 points. Add RB Mark Ingram's 18, WR Antonio Brown's 17 and flex TE Greg Olsen's 14 and you're in for a chunky weekly total. Everyone chipped in a bit for GIRNT, but no star individual stats - QB Drew Brees and WR Jeremy Maclin both got 15.

Fulchester Fish 71 @ 71 Forest Tigers - YTP A.Gates (Fish)
Level going into Monday night - and Antonio Gates to make the difference, if he plays. (He's marked questionable). If he doesn't, this will come down to bench scores, so Tigers will be hoping that RB Andre Williams outscores the Fish's WR Golden Tate by enough to get the best bench score. (Of course, Gates might play and end up with a negative score, but as the game starts at about 3.30 am, I'm not expecting the Fish owner to wait up to see the state of play. I can safely say that cos it's me!). The Green Bay-heavy fish (Rodgers and Lacy) both struggled as expected against the Seattle D - they were bailed out somewhat by RB DeMarco Murray (17), WR Roddy White and the Philly D (both 13). Allround WR Cordarelle Patterson topscored for the Tigers with 18, though most of that was from rushing - a useful weapon! RB LeSean McCoy and WR Julian Edelman both added 11 points.

Chingford Gingers 90 @ 57 Caracas Firecrackers - YTP L.Green, M.Floyd (both Gingers), R.Mathews (Firecrackers)
Looking good for last year's champs to get off to a winning start. 4 good scorers for Gingers - WR AJ Green (19), K Matt Bryant (18), QB Colin Kaepernick (17) and RB Matt Forte (16). Firecrackers unfortunately selecting the wrong options at QB and DST - although Russell Wilson managed a perfectly serviceable 17, Matt Ryan's 30 were left on the bench, while the heavily touted Rams DST got mashed by the Vikings and only scored 1 as the downward trending 49ers DST looked far from cooked as they scored 17 against the very offensive-minded Cowboys. RB Gio Bernard and K Steve Gostkowski both scored 10 but they were the only players in double figures.

Bruschi 54's 55 @ 76 Putney Gooners - YTP[/b] R.Jennings, K.Allen (both 54's), V.Cruz, J.Feely (both Gooners)
A little bit of work needed for the 54's to overhaul the Gooners lead, but certainly possible. Not a great starting week so far for Bruschi with only QB Andy Dalton (18, and well selected over his higher draft pick Tony Romo) making much of an impression. The bulk of the Gooners total is down to two players - QB Peyton Manning with 22 and RB LeVeon Bell (24).

A bit gutted, put in a very Jacksonville Jaguars performance roaring out to 51 points at half time in the early kickoffs. Imagine my disappointment when we were still on 51 at the end of Sunday 9pm kickoffs and a 30 point lead had become a 30 point deficit

WEEK 1 - FINAL SCORES

Barry Crockers 76 @ 127 Crystal Tipps
Not just breaking the 100 barrier, positively crashing through it, as Calvin Johnson went wild with 28 points - Lions D also managing double figures.

X-Men 79 @ 88 Portsmouth Pirates
Three feeble scores from the X-Men's monday night crew, totalling only 14 between them.

GIRNT 77 @ 124 Cornish Tinners
It turned out to be a very comfortable win for the Tinners as Carson Palmer passed his way to 20 points, and Andre Ellington also turned up for duty and added a few points.

Fulchester Fish 79 @ 71 Forest Tigers
Fish didn't have to rely on the tie-breaking bench scores as Gates not only played, but ended up as the Chargers leading receiver with 6 catches for 81 yards and 8 points.

Chingford Gingers 103 @ 69 Caracas Firecrackers
Matthews scored a TD but the yardage wasn't great - 12 points to add to the Firecrackers. Floyd had the yardage (over 100) but no TD, and Ladarius Green wasn't really a factor as Gates showed he's still the number one TE in San Diego.

Bruschi 54's 73 @ 78 Putney Gooners
The Gooners 2 Monday night players didn't advance the cause much - Cruz with only 2, but that was more than kicker Jay Feely's big fat zero. (Of course, this was to be expected - might want to re-examine your kicker's roster situation Gooners!). Rashad Jennings did his bit for the 54's with 15, but Keenan Allen disappointed with just 3.

WEEK 2 FIXTURES

Portsmouth Pirates (1-0) @ Barry Crockers (0-1)
Crystal Tipps (1-0) @ X-Men (0-1)
Forest Tigers (0-1) @ GIRNT (0-1)
Cornish Tinners (1-0) @ Fulchester Fish (1-0)
Putney Gooners (1-0) @ Chingford Gingers (1-0)
Caracas Firecrackers (0-1) @ Bruschi 54's (0-1)

WEEK 2 - SCORES IN PROGRESS

Portsmouth Pirates 102 @ 85 Barry Crockers - completed game
Pirates move to 2-0 with this win over the so-far winless Crockers. Their total was mainly down to three excellent performances - from the Patriots D (26), QB Jay Cutler (25) and RB Arian Foster (20). Understandably, bearing in mind Brandon Marshall's injury status, Pirates left him and his eventual 22 points on the bench, but no harm done. Reasonable all-round scoring from Barry Crockers, QB Cam Newton, restored to health, leading with 18, and 12 each from RB Darren McFadden, WR Demaryius Thomas and the Panthers DST.

Crystal Tipps 40 @ 63 X-Men - YTP A.Luck, A.Viniateri (both Tipps); N.Foles (X-Men)
Both QBs still to play in this one (plus Indy kicker Viniateri for Tipps), but the odds are on an X-Men win. A dispiriting day for Tipps - with only the 2 WRs Eric Decker and Mike Wallace hitting double figures, and quite a few points left on the bench courtesy of the Bills D and QB Phil Rivers (though of course Luck could still better Rivers). Worse still, a bad day for injuries going forward with RM Knowshon Moreno, TE Vernon Davis and Decker all having to leave their games. Not a great day for X-Men either with only the Cardinals D (16) and kicker Nick Novak (15) playing up to or beyond their potential - but it looks like being good enough this week.

Forest Tigers 86 @ 65 Get It Right Next Time - YTP L.McCoy (Tigers), D.Sproles, J.Maclin (both GIRNT)
With top draft pick McCoy still to play, and a 21 point lead, the Tigers are in a strong position to win this game. Fellow RB Alfred Morris collected 20 points and WR Julian Edelman, seemingly now at the top of the pack of WRs in New England, got 14. K Justin Tucker also weighed in with 14 points. TE Jimmy Graham showed once again why he's a round 1 draft pick TE with 2 touchdowns on his way to 23 points, but it seems that GIRNT are going to have to rely on a magic game from Philly WR Jeremy Maclin tonight.

Cornish Tinners 78 @ 70 Fulchester Fish - completed game
Tinners take a tight one in this completed matchup. RB Mark Ingram and WR Dez Bryant equal topscoring on 16 with bits and pieces from most of the others just getting them over the line, though going forward their QB situation looks worrying with both starter and backups ailing at present. Fish total almost entirely down to two players - QB Aaron Rodgers (27) and RB DeMarco Murray (20) - with possibly the worst lineup decision of the week, benching Antonio Gates's 27 points, a major factor in the loss.

Putney Gooners 61 @ 67 Chingford Gingers - YTP D.Allen (Gingers)
Gingers will take this one by 6 points plus whatever Indy TE Dwayne Allen can add tonight. QB Peyton Manning was up to his normal scoring performance throwing three TDs for 21 points, but RB Chris Ivory (10) was the only other player to hit double digits. WRs were the stars of the show for Gingers, with Jordy Nelson's 26 and fellow Packer Randall Cobb's 18, but the third of their star WR trio (AJ Green) had to leave early with an injury before registering any points at all. Fortunately for Gingers, it wasn't an issue this week, but obviously might be a problem in the weeks to come.

Caracas Firecrackers 85 @ 71 Bruschi 54s - YTP TY Hilton (Firecrackers), R.Wayne (54s)
Battle of the Indy WRs this evening, with the old boy Wayne needing to outscore the young gun Hilton by 15 points to deprive the Firecrackers of the win. RB Gio Bernard with 22 and QB Russell Wilson with 17 for the Firecrackers, who had the disadvantage of an inactive player at the TE slot. One of those rare games where the kicker led the scoring for 54s - Dan Bailey with 4 long field goals providing 19 points - with 15 from rookie RB Jeremy Hill and 14 each from QB Andy Dalton and WR Julio Jones. Two more teams who might be in a bit more strife in the upcoming weeks though - both teams losing starting RBs (Jamaal Charles for Firecrackers, Ryan Matthews for 54s) to injuries.

WEEK 2 - FINAL SCORES

Portsmouth Pirates 102 @ 85 Barry Crockers

Crystal Tipps 68 @ 80 X-Men
The 2 QBs matched each other almost point for point, so it was up to Indy kicker Vinatieri - 10 points was OK but not enough.

Forest Tigers 101 @ 98 GIRNT
Thanks to Darren Sproles (23) outscoring his RB teammate LeSean McCoy (15) with a huge receiving performance, plus a double-digit score from Jeremy Maclin, Get It Right Next Time got very close to the Tigers score but just fell short.

Cornish Tinners 78 @ 70 Fulchester Fish

Putney Gooners 61 @ 67 Chingford Gingers
Dwayne Allen didn't trouble the scorers last night, but he didn't need to. In future weeks though, he might be called upon to do a bit more than this!

Caracas Firecrackers 91 @ 73 Bruschi 54s
Despite the Colts putting up 27 points, the TD receptions went elsewhere with neither Hilton or Wayne doing a great deal.

WEEK 3 FIXTURES

Barry Crockers (0-2) @ X-Men (1-1)
Portsmouth Pirates (2-0) @ Crystal Tipps (1-1)
GIRNT (0-2) @ Fulchester Fish (1-1)
Forest Tigers (1-1) @ Cornish Tinners (2-0)
Chingford Gingers (2-0) @ Bruschi 54s (0-2)
Putney Gooners (1-1) @ Caracas Firecrackers (1-1)

WEEK 3 - SCORES IN PROGRESS

Barry Crockers 46 @ 73 X-Men - YTP M.Bennett (X-Men)
In a lowish-scoring week all round, Crockers barely got out of the starting stalls - it's just a question of victory margin for X-men weith Martellus Bennett due to go this evening. QB Cam Newton (12) and TE Rob Gronkowski (10) the only decent scorers, with the Panthers D proving worse than useless finishing on -3. Not may of the X-Men squad fared any better though - they were bailed out by the running back duo of Marshawn Lynch (24) and Reggie Bush (15).

Portsmouth Pirates 36 @ 110 Crystal Tipps - YTP J.Cutler, B.Marshall, N.Folk (all Pirates), C.Johnson (Tipps)
Thumping leading margin for the Tipps (the only team looking likely to break the 100 point mark this week), although if Cutler and Marshall go mad tonight, there's just a slim possibility of an overhaul from the Pirates. RB Knile Davis, still in relief of Jamaal Charles, accounted for nearly half of the Pirates points so far with 17. Crystal Tipps got excellent scoring from some usual suspects (QB Andrew Luck with 31) and some slightly more surprising ones (Lions D, against the Packers, and K Adam Vinatieri both with 16). With no-one scoring less than 7, definitely a week where the Tipps bucked the overall low scoring trend.

GIRNT 79 @ 62 Fulchester Fish - completed game
Get It Right Next Time are off the mark for the season with a comfortable win over the Fish. WR Jeremy Maclin with 21 was the star of the show for them, with good support from QB Drew Brees (19) and K Shaun Suisham (15). Too many failures on the Fish side, with RB DeMarco Murray (17) an honourable exception.

Forest Tigers 67 @ 98 Cornish Tinners - completed game
Cornish Tinners off to a 3-0 start and already a two-game lead in the division. Despite a very sickly-looking bench, they nearly ran up the 100-point mark with fine scoring from QB Kirk Cousins (27) and WR Antonio Brown (21) plus useful contributions from most of the rest of the roster. The Tigers QB Tom Brady is off to a really slow start this year with just 3 TD passes thrown so far - his 13 points, plus 11 from K Justin Tucker, the only scores of note for the Tigers.

Chingford Gingers 61 @ 75 Bruschi 54s - YTP M.Forte, Bears DST (both Gingers)
The ESPN projection has this finishing in a tie after the Monday night game - if I was the Gingers, I would be expecting more than 14 points from Matt Forte and the Bears D, but we'll see. 18 points for the Gingers QB Colin Kaepernick plus 11 each from WR Michael Floyd and RB Pierre Thomas. For the 54s, leaving Jamaal Charles in the lineup was a gamble that didn't pay off - he was inactive, while top RB of the week Rashad Jennings and his 23 points lay languishing on the bench. Another bit of bad luck was losing TE Dennis Pitta to a possibly long-term injury - fortunately WR Julio Jones came through with a fantastic 28 points from the Thursday game.

Putney Gooners 71 @ 75 Caracas Firecrackers - YTP C.Ivory (Gooners)
Gooners hopes resting on the considerable shoulders of Chris Ivory this evening - just 4 points would do it as they have a much stronger bench this week. It didn't look like being a great week from Peyton Manning, but he got his act together late and managed to total 20 points for the evening. WR Pierre Garcon (19) and RB LeVeon Bell (15) added useful points - not a great deal from anyone else while kicker Ryan Succop managed a negative score due to his 2 missed FGs. QB Russell Wilson top scored for the Firecrackers with 21 with useful contributions from RB Gio Bernard (16) and Michael Crabtree (14). Firecrackers lost Chargers RB Danny Woodhead to a potentially season-ending injury - with fellow charger Ryan Matthews also on their bench, Firecrackers are stockpiling broken San Diego RBs. Next up Donald Brown!

WEEK 3 - FINAL SCORES

Barry Crockers 46 @ 90 X-Men
Martellus Bennett hauled in 2 TDs (and dropped another) for an excellent 17 points for the victorious X-Men

Portsmouth Pirates 67 @ 113 Crystal Tipps
Cutler got 16, and Nick Folk a fine 15 from the kicker slot, but Brandon Marshall added nothing to the overall score of the Pirates.

GIRNT 79 @ 62 Fulchester Fish

Forest Tigers 67 @ 98 Cornish Tinners

Chingford Gingers 83 @ 75 Bruschi 54s
A combined 22 from Forte and the Bears D with the lions share coming from the latter. Gingers unbeaten, Bruschi off to a slow start this year.

Putney Gooners 80 @ 75 Caracas Firecrackers
Ivory, although not great, did enough with 40 yards on the ground and 50 through the air for 9 points - meaning a come-from-behind win for the Gooners.

WEEK 4 FIXTURES

Barry Crockers (0-3) @ Caracas Firecrackers (1-2)
Forest Tigers (1-2) @ Portsmouth Pirates (2-1)
Crystal Tipps (2-1) @ Putney Gooners (2-1)
X-Men (2-1) @ Fulchester Fish (1-2)
Bruschi 54s (0-3) @ GIRNT (1-2)
Chingford Gingers (3-0) @ Cornish Tinners (3-0)

Apologies - a little slack this week

WEEK 4 - FINAL SCORES

Barry Crockers 62 @ 58 Caracas Firecrackers
Crockers pick up their first win of the year, but it was a bit of a struggle against the Firecrackers. WR Terrance Williams with 19 was the only player to put up a decent score for Crockers, a total matched by Firecrackers QB Matt Ryan. Panthers D didn't help the cause, registering a season low points score of -4, but in the end Crockers just scrape home.

Forest Tigers 73 @ 66 Portsmouth Pirates
Another close one, with the Tigers just prevailing, even with Vikings RB Matt Asiata stuck on the bench with his 27 points. TE Travis Kelce, RB Alfred Morris and WR Kelvin Benjamin all registered reasonable scores for Tigers. For Pirates, 16 points each from QB Jay Cutler and RB Lamar Miller, but not too much else.

Crystal Tipps 86 @ 85 Putney Gooners
And the closest of them all, with Tipps taking the win by virtue of a better bench score (45-34). (Though I'll keep an eye out for any stat corrections later in the week which may affect the result.) QBs leading the way for both teams here - 27 from Tipps Matt Ryan, and an outstanding 32 from Eli Manning for the Gooners. Even Tipps reserve QB Andrew Luck managed 29 - it looks like some difficult choices in the offing for the QB slot for Tipps with two of the top QBs around at the moment. 9's, 10's and 11's from lots of players on both sides - a good contest.
Edit: NFL found an extra sack for the Bills DST, so an extra point for Tipps, removing the need for the tiebreaker.

X-Men 101 @ 124 Fulchester Fish
Powerhouse week for the Fish as QB Aaron Rodgers finally turned up with 28 - add RB DeMarco Murray's 26 and WR Steve Smith's 25 to that and you've got yourself a high scoring week. Fish could even afford a zero from WR DeSean Jackson. QB Matt Stafford scored 25, with good support from RB Trent Richardson (15), and the TE pairing of Delanie Walker (14) and Martellus Bennett (13), but the X-Men were unlucky this week - 10 points would have been good enough for the win against most other teams.

Bruschi 54s 117 @ 93 GIRNT
You could argue that the 54s had an even better week than the Fulchester Fish, as their 117 points were achieved with only 7 starters, RB Jeremy Hill being on a bye, and TE Dennis Pitta lost for the year to an injury. RB Jamaal Charles returned to fantasy relevance with 28, QB Tony Romo added 24, and with 17 each from WR Reggie Wayne and the Chiefs DST, 54s put up an excellent total. 93 for GIRNT not a bad score in itself, with RB Frank Gore (22) and QB Drew Brees (19) leading the way, but in the end a comfortable first win of the year for the 54s.

Chingford Gingers 100 @ 58 Cornish Tinners
Last year's champs the Chingford Gingers continue on in thus season from where they finished last season - the only unbeaten team after 4 games. With the GB pairing of wide receivers Randall Cobb and Jordy Nelson, it could be one of those boom-or-bust years - this week, definitely a boom with both scoring over 20 points. Add 19 from QB Colin Kaepernick and 16 from RB Matt Forte and you've got a triple-digit total. Tinners handicapped themselves somewhat by starting two players on bye weeks, but the margin of defeat was such that it probably wouldn't have mattered who they would have subbed in. 25 from WR Antonio Brown the only score worth noting.

WEEK 5 FIXTURES

GIRNT (1-3) @ Barry Crockers (1-3)
Caracas Firecrackers (1-3) @ Portsmouth Pirates (2-2)
Forest Tigers (2-2) @ Bruschi 54s (1-3)
Cornish Tinners (3-1) @ Crystal Tipps (3-1)
X-Men (2-2) @ Putney Gooners (2-2)
Fulchester Fish (2-2) @ Chingford Gingers (4-0)

Some high scores this week!

WEEK 5 - SCORES IN PROGRESS

GIRNT 73 @ 134 Barry Crockers - completed game
Beginning with the highest score of the week, and indeed for the season so far, it's the Barry Crockers show. Obviously good scoring from just about everywhere, but stars of the week were a fit-again TE Rob Gronkowski (16), Panthers D (18), a fine 20 from the kicker slot and Phil Dawson. and best of the lot, WR DeMaryius Thomas 200+ yard and 2 TD game netting 34 points. QB Drew Brees scored 16 for Get It Right Next Time, but there was no answer to the Crockers Juggernaut.

Caracas Firecrackers 38 @ 87 Portsmouth Pirates - YTP R.Wilson, P.Harvin (both Firecrackers)
In contrast, Firecrackers have a had a poor week so far, although there is a slight chance if Russell Wilson finds Percy Harvin for lots of success this evening. WR T.Y.Hilton the top score at the moment with a lowly 9. Quite a few poor scorers on the Pirates team as well, but two big scores at the top of the lineup from QB Jay Cutler (21) and RB Arian Foster (28) should be enough.

Forest Tigers 64 @ 66 Bruschi 54s - YTP A.Morris (Tigers)
Close at the moment but Tigers only need 3 points from Alfred Morris this evening for the win. Low-scoring game here - WR Alshon Jeffery (15) and QB Ben Roethlisberger (12) for the Tigers, and QB Tony Romo (18) and WR Julio Jones (10) for the 54s the only players in double figures in the whole matchup.

Cornish Tinners 121 @ 56 Crystal Tipps - completed game
The second of three big scores this week, and a huge win for the Tinners. The Rams combo of QB Austin Davis and WR Brian Quick, no-one's idea of a success story at the start of the year scored a total of 46 points, with 26 coming from RB Andre Ellington and another 18 from TE Julius Thomas. If only the Bengals D had played up to their potential - they actually finished with -3. Factor in a 20-point wide receiver and a 19-point tight end on the bench, and this was a pretty good week for the Tinners. In contrast, apart from 21 points from QB Philip Rivers, nothing much else for the Tipps. Bad week to be called C.Johnson - WR Calvin and RB Chris both failed to score a single point.

X-Men 59 @ 85 Putney Gooners - YTP M.Lynch (X-Men), P.Garcon (Gooners)
X-Men relying on a big game from Marshawn Lynch tonight, and a poor one from the Gooners' Pierre Garcon. 27 point swing will do it - 26 might, but the tiebreaker bench score is awfully close as well. The Philly D by some way the best scorer so far for X-Men with 22 - QB Matthew Stafford the only other player to scrape into double figures. Putney Gooners got an excellent 31 out of QB Peyton Manning with good assistance from the Chargers shutout victory over the Jets leading to 16 points for the DST.

Fulchester Fish 127 @ 102 Chingford Gingers - completed game
The last unbeaten record falls to the third big score of the week. Only the WR slot let the Fish down this week with a combined 3 points from 2 players. The rest of the squad all scored big, RB Eddie Lacy (24), Packers D (22), QB Aaron Rodgers (18), and TE Antonio Gates (18) on top of the pile. A good score from the Gingers too, unfortunate in their draw of opponents this week. RB Matt Forte scored 20, and lots around the 12-15 point mark for a fairly balanced scorecard.

WEEK 5 - FINAL SCORES

Get It Right Next Time 73 @ 134 Barry Crockers

Caracas Firecrackers 74 @ 87 Portsmouth Pirates
Russell Wilson did his best with a league-leading 34 points, but Percy Harvin (and thus the Firecrackers) had a really annoying night with not one, not two, but three TD receptions nullified by penalties. So the Pirates hang on.

Forest Tigers 66 @ 66 Bruschi 54s
Only three points needed from Alfred Morris - easy, right? Wrong! Just 29 yards on the ground, and Forest Tigers come up 1 point, indeed 1 yard, short of the win - 66 each, and the 54s take the victory by virtue of the better bench (43-34). As in one of the games last week, I'll revisit this when any stat corrections are in to see if this alters the result.

Cornish Tinners 121 @ 56 Crystal Tipps

X-Men 77 @ 87 Putney Gooners
Lynch outscored a very disappointing Pierre Garcon 17-2, but not by the required 27 points, so the Gooners take this one.
Edit: extra point to the X-Men after stat correction.

Fulchester Fish 127 @ 102 Chingford Gingers

WEEK 6 FIXTURES

Barry Crockers (2-3) @ Fulchester Fish (3-2)
Cornish Tinners (4-1) @ Caracas Firecrackers (1-4)
Crystal Tipps (3-2) @ Forest Tigers (2-3)
Putney Gooners (3-2) @ Get It Right Next Time (1-4)
Portsmouth Pirates (3-2) @ Chingford Gingers (4-1)
Bruschi 54s (2-3) @ X-Men (2-3)

I'm having no luck at this game, still can't get over those 3 called back TD's - I don't think that has ever happened to 1 player before (what makes it worse was having Wilson as my QB so it took points off him too.)

So I find myself with a 1-4 record that could/should have been 3-2 or even 4-1

Perhaps I should change the team name to Jacksonville Jaguars

WEEK 6 - SCORES IN PROGRESS

Barry Crockers 78 @ 109 Fulchester Fish - YTP P.Dawson (Crockers)
Just the kicker left for the Crockers, so unless Phil Dawson goes on a frenzy, this will be a win for the Fish. A patchy performance from Barry Crockers, three good scorers (RB Ben Tate with 19, WR DeMaryius Thomas with 18, and QB Kirk Cousind with 16), but too many low, or in the case of RB CJ Spiller, negative point scores. Four big scorers for the Fish - QB Aaron Rodgers (25), RB DeMarco Murray (20), and Wrs DeSean Jackson and Steve Smith (both 17). In a week with quite a few good quarterback performances, both teams left 30+ point players on the bench - Cam Newton's 33 and Joe Flacco's 32 going unused.

Cornish Tinners 70 @ 80 Caracas Firecrackers - YTP A.Davis (Tinners), M.Crabtree, 49ers DST (both Firecrackers)
Good finish in prospect here with the Tinners needing 10 more points from the Rams QB Davis than the Firecrackers pairing of Michael Crabtree and the slightly underperforming San Fran D. TE Julius Thomas was the best scorer for the Tinners with 17, assisted by 15 from RB Joique Bell. Three stars for the Firecrackers - 28 from WR TY Hilton, 21 from RB Gio Bernard, and for the second week running, lots of points from kicker Steve Gostkowski (16).

Crystal Tipps 104 @ 68 Forest Tigers - YTP J.Cook, Z.Stacy (both Tipps)
Huge win for the Tipps with everyone chipping in - kicker Adam Vinatieri the only player not in double figures, and he only just missed. QB Andrew Luck scored 23, the Detroit Lions D had some fun at the Vikings expense (20), and stand-in Chargers RB Branden Oliver got 18. 14 each from RB LeSean McCoy and K Justin Tucker for the Tigers, but not a great week for them - and another example of a 30+ QB left on the bench (Tom Brady).

Putney Gooners 65 @ 40 Get It Right Next Time - YTP F.Gore (GIRNT)
Not a great week for either team to be honest, especially for GIRNT, although Frank Gore may be able to salvage a win with a good showing tonight. QB Peyton Manning scored 21, but too many very low scores from some of the others for the Gooners liking. Of the 8 who've already gone for Get It Right Next Time, no-one's even hit double figures - three scores of 9 from QB Charlie Whitehurst, RB Darren Sproles and the Indy DST. Let's see how the 49ers RB gets on tonight.

Portsmouth Pirates 118 @ 101 Chingford Gingers - YTP C.Kaepernick (Gingers)
In complete contrast, here's a heavyweight battle still to be decided with the Gingers needing 17 or 18 points from Colin Kaepernick tonight. Fine scoring from just about everyone on the Pirates team with RB Arian Foster (25), QB Jay Cutler (20) and Cincy WR Mohammed Sanu, benefitting from AJ Green's absence, collecting 18 points. 27 from RB Matt Forte for the Gingers, backed up by WR Jordy Nelson and the Broncos DST's 16 points each. The loser here is going to be cursing their draw of opponents this week.

Bruschi 54s 70 @ 68 X-Men - completed game
X-Men went into the Sunday night game needing 8 points from WR Jordan Matthews, but he could only manage 5, so the 54s hang on to a narrow win. Apart from 18 from QB Andy Dalton and 15 from K Dan Bailey, not too much from the 54s, but the X-Men's only real success story was the Arizona D who scored 16 points so the 54s did just enough.

WEEK 6 - FINAL SCORES

Barry Crockers 87 @ 109 Fulchester Fish
Only 9 points from Phil Dawson, always pretty much of a forlorn hope for the Crockers anyway.

Cornish Tinners 81 @ 103 Caracas Firecrackers
The 49ers DST racked up a few sacks and an INT for a touchdown on their way to 13 points, and Crabtree's TD paved the way for what in the end was a comfortable win for the Firecrackers.

Crystal Tipps 113 @ 68 Forest Tigers
The two remaining Rams, Cook and Stacy, didn't do a lot, but they didn't have to for the Tipps' purposes on their way to an easy win.

Putney Gooners 65 @ 43 Get It Right Next Time
Frank Gore caught the general vibe of GIRNT's disastrous week, collecting only 3 points.

Portsmouth Pirates 117 @ 129 Chingford Gingers
Kaepernick got all the Gingers needed plus quite a bit more for a total of 28 points. One of those weeks where the second best scorer of the round comes away with a loss to the top scorer - and the second worst scorer of the week scrapes a win against the week's lowest scorer. Luck of the draw!
Edit: stat correction removing 1 from Pirates total.

Bruschi 54s 70 @ 68 X-Men

WEEK 7 FIXTURES

Chingford Gingers (5-1) @ Barry Crockers (2-4)
Caracas Firecrackers (2-4) @ Fulchester Fish (4-2)
Forest Tigers (2-4) @ Putney Gooners (4-2)
Crystal Tipps (4-2) @ Bruschi 54s (3-3)
Portsmouth Pirates (3-3) @ Cornish Tinners (4-2)
Get It Right Next Time (1-5) @ X-Men (2-4)

WEEK 7 - FINAL SCORES

Chingford Gingers 107 @ 79 Barry Crockers
Chingford Gingers go marching on with a league-best 6-1 record. 22 points from RB Matt Forte and 18 from WR Randall Cobb led the way, but lots of other double-figure scores leading the Gingers to a good total score for the week. WR DeMaryius Thomas top-scored for the Crockers with a fine 29, but other than QB Cam Newton's 14, not too much else.

Caracas Firecrackers 58 @ 109 Fulchester Fish
But just topping the Gingers by 2 for the high score of the week were the Fish on their way to a big win over the Firecrackers. QB Aaron Rodgers scored 24 and WR Golden Tate 21 with good contributions also from RB DeMarco Murray, RB Eddie Lacy and TE Antonio Gates. Firecrackers would have been in a much sorrier state if not for QB Russell Wilson's magnificent 36 - four of the nine on the roster failed to score a single point.

Forest Tigers 89 @ 91 Putney Gooners
This looked to be a tight one going into the Monday night game, and so it turned out with RB Leveon Bell just getting enough to give the Gooners a narrow win. The winners score was down almost entirely to Bell, QB Peyton Manning (28) and WR Sammy Watkins (24). For the Tigers, QB Tom Brady got 22, and RB Ronnie Hillman 21, but just not quite enough from the rest of the team.

Crystal Tipps 75 @ 62 Bruschi 54s
Not the highest scoring game of the week, but Tipps do enough to take the points. Top scorer for the Tipps was RB Ahmad Bradshaw with 18 - the 54s had the highest scorer of the game in QB Tony Romo (21), but aside from RB Jamaal Charles 16, very little from the other 7 54s.

Portsmouth Pirates 83 @ 84 Cornish Tinners
The closest game of the week, and it was close entering the Monday night game as well. Pirates needed RB Arian Foster to outscore WR Antonio Brown by 3 points, but Foster fell 1 short. RB was the point-scoring position for the Pirates, with Shane Vereen (23), Foster (15) and Lamar Miller (14) doing the bulk of the scoring. Quite a balanced look to the Tinners scorecard with 15 each from RB Andre Ellington and WR Dez Bryant, 14 from QB Austin Davis and 13 from Brown.

Get It Right Next Time 58 @ 79 X-Men
GIRNT fall to their 4th loss on the bounce. Only QB Drew Brees (20) and K Shaun Suisham (14) got into double figures in a low-scoring week for them. No great standouts on the X-Mens team, 16 from WR Odell Beckham and 15 from QB Matt Stafford, but enough points from elsewhere to give them the victory.

WEEK 8 FIXTURES

Bruschi 54s (3-4) @ Barry Crockers (2-5)
Caracas Firecrackers (2-5) @ Forest Tigers (2-5)
Chingford Gingers (6-1) @ Crystal Tipps (5-2)
Putney Gooners (5-2) @ Fulchester Fish (5-2)
Portsmouth Pirates (3-4) @ Get It Right Next Time (1-6)
Cornish Tinners (5-2) @ X-Men (3-4)

Another tough loss for you this week I'm afraid - must have been counting the win with just 1 point needed and three players still having 10 minutes to play in the Saints game, but a combo of Green Bay players and Saints reserves stopped that from happening.

Back to the reports - another update missed on Monday morning, sorry, but circumstances have meant that the last four weeks have been a bit difficult internet-wise - should be back to full capacity from now on. So here goes.

WEEK 8 - FINAL SCORES

Bruschi 54s 87 @ 85 Barry Crockers
EDIT: Bruschi 54s 84 @ 85 Barry Crockers
In the first of three very close games this week, the 54s got just enough points out of Tony Romo and Dan Bailey on Monday night to pinch this one. RB Jamaal Charles topscored with 23, with a useful 17 coming from TE Heath Miller. Apart from a massive 32 from TE Rob Gronkowski, the rest of the Crockers didn't really show up - K Randy Bullock's 13 the only above-par contribution.
EDIT: A major stat correction has removed 3 points from Jamaal Charles (fewer rushing yards, and a lost fumble), turning this result on it's head - the narrowest of wins now goes to Barry Crockers.

Caracas Firecrackers 71 @ 111 Forest Tigers
A big win for the Tigers with scores from most of their squad, led by an excellent 34 from QB Tom Brady. Leading the way for the Firecrackers was WR T.Y.Hilton with 21 - kicker Steve Gostkowski also had a good game with 15, but slightly (or very) disappointing performances from the rest. Tigers mangaed to win this one despite leaving what surely is a record 104 points on the bench, including season-best score from QB Ben Roethlisberger (44), (though as they had Brady, this wasn't the disaster it could have been), and WR Emmanuel Sanders' 30.

Chingford Gingers 82 @ 80 Crystal Tipps
Gingers continue their fine season with the second 2-point win of the week. 24 points from RB Matt Forte and 18 from WR Randall Cobb helped the Gingers on their way to just enough points for the win. The Colts pair of QB Andrew Luck and RB Ahmad Bradshaw combined for 40 for the Tipps, but poor scores from the WRs and TE doomed them this week. Good tactical move by the Gingers - defending a 2-pt lead going into Monday night with their opponent done for the week, they sat the Cowboys D in case of a negative score. (I've been away for a couple of days, wasn't keeping a close eye on this but I'm guessing this is what happened. I've often thought of this, but I've never been in that position, and I don't think I've seen it happen in this league before. In any case, as commissioner - I approve!)

Putney Gooners 99 @ 155 Fulchester Fish
A blowout here, with the Fish romping to a 56-point win, the highest score of the year, and tying the alltime record for points in a week since the start of this league according to historian Mark of the Bruschi 54s. WR Steve Smith was the only player not in double figures (and he had an 80 yard TD catch called back for offensive pass interference). Dolphins D top-scored with 26, QB Aaron Rodgers got 24, but there were really no weak links on the Fish team this week as the second lowest score was still a fine 13 points. Not a bad week for the Gooners, just failing to crack 3 figures, with the help of 23 from QB Peyton Manning and 21 from WR Sammy Watkins, but they ran into an offensive hurricane this week.

Portsmouth Pirates 110 @ 109 Get It Right Next Time
In contrast, the tightest game of the week with just a single point margin - and as I said at the top of the post, looking good for GIRNT with 10 minutes to go of the final game of the week that counted in this match-up (neither team had any players from the Monday night game). RB Arian Foster's excellent 35 was the standout for the Pirates with good backup from QB Jay Cutler. For GIRNT, WR Jeremy Maclin had a fine game collecting 30 points, QB Drew Brees (24) and WR Larry Fitzgerald (22) also put in fine shifts, but GIRNT come up just short.

Cornish Tinners 97 @ 70 X-Men
Tinners move to 6-2 and a share of the lead of their division with a comfortable win over the X-Men. Two big scorers for the Tinners - 25 from WR Antonio Brown and 23 from RB Mark Ingram. Two main scorers also for the X-Men, but at a lower level - QB Matt Stafford (19) and TE Marcellus Bennett (15).

WEEK 9 FIXTURES

Cornish Tinners (6-2) @ Barry Crockers (3-5)
X-Men (3-5) @ Caracas Firecrackers (2-6)
Chingford Gingers (7-1) @ Forest Tigers (3-5)
Get It Right Next Time (1-7) @ Crystal Tipps (5-3)
Putney Gooners (5-3) @ Portsmouth Pirates (4-4)
Fulchester Fish (6-2) @ Bruschi 54s (3-5)

WEEK 9 - SCORES IN PROGRESS

Cornish Tinners 109 @ 60 Barry Crockers - completed game
A comfortable win for the Tinners - RB Mark Ingram leading the way with 23 and good contributions from WR Antonio Brown (20) and RB Andre Ellington (18). Not a great day for the Crockers with TE Rob Gronkowski's 18 the only score of note.

X-Men 57 @ 59 Caracas Firecrackers - YTP O.Beckham (X-Men), TY Hilton (Firecrackers)
This one's up in the air with each team having one wide receiver left to go in tonight's game. A large proportion of the X-Men's score so far is down to RB Marshawn Lynch (25) - not much from anywhere else. Firecrackers handicapped themselves somewhat going in with an inactive player, but a combination of bit-part performances from, among others, K Stephen Gostkowski (15) and WR Percy Harvin (12) might just see them home with Hilton fancied to outscore Beckham tonight.

Chingford Gingers 60 @ 114 Forest Tigers - YTP R.Randle, D.Allen (both Gingers)
Unless something weird happens tonight, this will be a rare loss for leaders Chingford Gingers. Various 12's, 11's and 10's from the likes of K Steven Hauschka, RB Bobby Rainey, QB Colin Kaepernick and WR AJ Green. Tigers storm past three figures again behind a fine showing from QB Tom Brady (27) with support from RB Ronnie Hillman (17), RB Denard Robinson (16) and WR Emmanuel Sanders (15). If last week's 104 points left on the bench was a record, it didn't last long - for the second week in a row, the Tigers bench managed a three-figure score, 120 this time - no doubt as to the strongest roster in the league.

Get It Right Next Time 104 @ 30 Crystal Tipps - YTP A.Williams (GIRNT), A.Luck, A.Bradshaw, A.Vinatieri (all Tipps)
Looks like a bit of a thrashing at the moment but a big Colts performance could just do it for the Tipps - however it looks like Get It Right Next Time's losing streak stops at 5. WR Jeremy Maclin top-scored with 27 and QB Drew Brees added 17. Nothing as yet from the Tipps bar WR Eric Decker's 12.

Putney Gooners 71 @ 97 Portsmouth Pirates - completed game
This one's in the books, with the Pirates coming out winners. QB Carson Palmer scored 19, and RB Arian Foster 17 - though there may be problems ahead for the Pirates with Foster and fellow RB Lamar Miller both leaving their games early with injuries. Other than QB Peyton Manning's 21, too many just-below-par scores from the other Gooners.

Fulcherster Fish 37 @ 103 Bruschi 54s - YTP E.Manning (Fish)
Oh dear! - a week after a record equalling performance, the Fish and their 5 game winning streak come crashing down to earth. Bruschi 54 win huge here behind RB Jeremy Hill's 27 plus other good scores from the Texans D (16) and QB Andy Dalton and RB Jamaal Charles 14 points each. Other than WR DeSean Jackson's 18, an embarrassing showing from the Fish including two players who failed to register a single point.

WEEK 9 - FINAL SCORES

Cornish Tinners 109 @ 60 Barry Crockers

X-Men 72 @ 72 Caracas Firecrackers
Back and forward all night, with Harvin getting the points in the bag early and then Firecrackers having to watch in anguish as Odell Beckham owned the 4th quarter - but at the end of the night, the two teams ended up level, meaning that the Firecrackers take the win by virtue of a better bench score. As this is yet another really tight result, I'll keep an eye on any stat corrections - for instance, I've just found one from week 8 which has changed one of that week's results - more in a separate post.

Chingford Gingers 74 @ 114 Forest Tigers
Lots of points scored in the Indy/Giants game, but not too many of them by Randle or Allan, so the Tigers end up with an easy win.

Get It Right Next Time 114 @ 86 Crystal Tipps
Luck put in one of the QB shows of the week with 30, similarly Vinatieri's 16 was one of the best scores from a kicker, but Tipps needed stellar performances from all 3 Colts, and Bradshaw could only manage 5 points.

Putney Gooners 71 @ 97 Portsmouth Pirates

Fulchester Fish 58 @ 103 Bruschi 54
Eli Manning ended up with the top score of the Fish's week (21), but it was only damage limitation.

WEEK 10 FIXTURES

Barry Crockers (3-6) @ Forest Tigers (4-5)
Caracas Firecrackers (3-6) @ Get It Right Next Time (2-7)
Fulchester Fish (6-3) @ Crystal Tipps (5-4)
Putney Gooners (5-4) @ Cornish Tinners (7-2)
Portsmouth Pirates (5-4) @ Bruschi 54s (4-5)
X-Men (3-6) @ Chingford Gingers (7-2)

NOTE: CORRECTION TO WEEK 8 RESULTS

I've just been trawling through past week's results and noticed that a stat correction was made by NFL in week 8. Jamaal Charles was credited (?) with a fumble, and 6 yards were removed from his rushing total, resulting in 3 fewer points than originally awarded. What this means is that the 54s 2-point win over Barry Crockers that week has changed to a 1-point loss. I've amended the week 8 recap as necessary. Tough luck 54s!

WEEK 10 - SCORES IN PROGRESS

Barry Crockers 42 @ 72 Forest Tigers - YTP C.Newton, D.Williams (both Crockers), L.McCoy (Tigers)
Looking good for the Tigers with a comfortable 30 point lead and LeSean McCoy yet to go - Crockers relying on a heavy Panthers win. Not great scoring from either team - WR Emmanuel Sanders (18) and RB Denard Robinson (17) best for the Tigers, while on the Crockers squad, top scorer so far is RB Ben Tate with just 11.

Caracas Firecrackers 55 @ 91 Get It Right Next Time - YTP J.Maclin (GIRNT)
An easy win for Get It Right Next Time with a 36 point lead and Jeremy Maclin still left to play. The Saints pairing of QB Drew Brees and TE Jimmy Graham provided 17 and 19 points respectively, and another pairing, this time the 49ers RB Frank Gore and WR Anquan Boldin, also scored OK with 14 and 15. Outside of QB Russell Wilson's 18 and K Mason Crosby's 15, not much from the Firecrackers this week.

Fulchester Fish 107 @ 62 Crystal Tipps - YTP M.Sanchez (Tipps)
Not too many close games this week - unless Sanchez goes all Aaron Rodgers-y this evening for the Tipps. Rodgers himself had a fantastic game with 36 points, practically all of those in the first half alone as the Packers were all over the Bears in the Sunday night game. RB Eddie Lacy joined in the fun with 17 points of his own. A big welcome back to star WR Calvin Johnson who scored 17 - TE Jared Cook managed 14, but it's not looking good for a Tipps comeback.

Putney Gooners 81 @ 91 Cornish Tinners - YTP J.Matthews (Gooners), G.Olsen (Tinners)
What's looking like the tightest game of the week with the Gooners needing Jordan Matthews to outscore Greg Olsen by 11 points this evening. WR Dez Bryant's excellent 27 and TE Julius Thomas's 18 leading for the Tinners, while the Gooners are this close mainly thanks to QB Peyton Manning's outstanding 29 points.

Portsmouth Pirates 64 @ 57 Bruschi 54s - YTP Z.Ertz, C.Parker (both Pirates)
A slender lead for the Pirates, but they should be able to consolidate the win with two players still left to go. WR Brandon Marshall salvaged 17 points from the Bears trainwreck at Lambeau, and RB Terrance West added 15 from the Thursday game between the Browns and the Bengals. The 54s week started off disastrously as the unlucky owners of QB Andy Dalton (-3) - RB Jamaal Charles' 17 and Steven Jackson's 15 were reasonable scores but the rest of the team didn't really show up.

X-Men 151 @ 89 Chingford Gingers - completed game
X-Men have been a little down on their usual form this season, but everything came together this week with a crushing win over the Gingers - just 4 points short of the alltime record weekly score. Obviously some huge scorers, led by RB Marshawn Lynch (40), Cardinals DST (26), RB Justin Forsett (23) and WR Martavus Bryant (20). WR Jordy Nelson had a fine 27 for the Gingers, but although 89 was a reasonable score for the week, nowhere near enough.

WEEK 10 - FINAL SCORES

Barry Crockers 56 @ 79 Forest Tigers
Not a great showing from any of the three players going in the Monday night game, especially considering how many points were scored in the actual game.

Caracas Firecrackers 55 @ 94 Get It Right Next Time
Again, despite the Eagles putting up 45 points, Maclin wasn't one of the beneficiaries collecting just 3 points.

Fulchester Fish 107 @ 83 Crystal Tipps
Sanchez did have a good game however, with 21 points - but the Tipps needed a fantastic, not just good, performance from the Eagles QB.

Putney Gooners 106 @ 102 Cornish Tinners
It was indeed the closest game of the week, and something of a surprise comeback win for the Gooners as Jordan Matthews had a career game with 25 points, more than enough to counter Greg Olsen's perfectly reasonable 11 points.

Portsmouth Pirates 74 @ 57 Bruschi 54s
Just 10 points added by the two remaining Eagles, as Zach Ertz was another skill player who missed out on all the high-scoring fun.

X-Men 151 @ 89 Chingford Gingers

WEEK 11 FIXTURES

Barry Crockers (3-7) @ Putney Gooners (6-4)
Crystal Tipps (5-5) @ Caracas Firecrackers (3-7)
Forest Tigers (5-5) @ X-Men (4-6)
Fulchester Fish (7-3) @ Portsmouth Pirates (6-4)
Bruschi 54s (4-6) @ Cornish Tinners (7-3)

WEEK 11 - SCORES IN PROGRESS

Barry Crockers 87 @ 64 Putney Gooners - YTP L.Bell (Gooners)
First game of the week, and to be honest the only one in this gameweek that has any interest going into Monday night - Gooners need a strong performance from LeVeon Bell to get the win. QB Cam Newton (18) and WR Andrew Hawkins (15) for the Crockers, WR Jordan Matthews (16), QB Peyton Manning (15) and TE Coby Fleener (14) for the Gooners the respective top scorers, in a week with not too many star performers...

Crystal Tipps 57 @ 75 Caracas Firecrackers - completed game
...apart from Patriot RB Jonas Gray whose 199 yards and 4 TDs led him to an astonishing 43 points - mortifyingly for the Tipps, he did it from the bench . QBs top scorers for both teams here - Andrew Luck had 19, ably backed up by RB Alfred Blue, subbing for Arian Foster (15), but 22 points from Russell Wilson, and 14 each from 49ers WR Michael Crabtree and the 49ers DST gave the Firecrackers the win.

Forest Tigers 105 @ 39 X-Men - YTP M.Bryant, Steelers DST (both X-Men)
Like the Fish a couple of weeks ago, the X-Men follow up a storming week last time around with a disaster this time. The game's not officially over as there are two still to go tonight, but it's a forlorn hope. Everybody bar TE Travis Kelce chipping in for the Tigers total, WR Alshon Jeffery coming out top of the charts with 19. RB Marshawn Lynch the only player in double figures so far for the X-Men, with just 12. The top WR of the week, Buccaneers Mike Evans, managed 32 points, but as in the case of the Tipps Jonas Gray, he was languishing on the Tigers bench.

Fulchester Fish 90 @ 71 Portsmouth Pirates - completed game
Fish get the victory here on the back of the Packers big victory over the Eagles. QB Aaron Rodgers (28) and RB Eddie Lacy (22) combined for over half of the Fish total points. A strikingly similar scenario on the Pirates side as their Bears combo of QB Jay Cutler (23) and WR Brandon Marshall (21) also outscored the rest of the team.

Bruschi 54s 98 @ 42 Cornish Tinners - YTP H.Miller (54s), A.Brown (Tinners)
A poor day at the office for the 7-3 Tinners, which is not going to be saved by tonights result. RB Jamaal Charles (26) and QB Andy Dalton (21) were the stars for the 54s, with good scoring also from WR Kenny Britt (18) and RB Jeremy Hill (16). Only QB Philip Rivers scraped into double figures for the X-Men with 11.

Get It Right Next Time 57 @ 90 Chingford Gingers - YTP S.Suisham (GIRNT)
33 points needed from the kicker - not gonna happen! WR Jeremy Maclin scored 15 and QB Drew Brees 14, but hardly anything from anyone else for Get It Right Next Time. The Gingers, back to winning ways after a slight road-bump the last two weeks, got good scoring from WR AJ Green (18), WR Jordy Nelson (16) and RB Matt Forte (16).

WEEK 11 - FINAL SCORES

Barry Crockers 87 @ 91 Putney Gooners
A great night for LeVeon Bell with over 200 yards and 1 TD for 27 points - Gooners nick the win.

Crystal Tipps 57 @ 75 Caracas Firecrackers

Forest Tigers 105 @ 48 X-Men
Bryant and the Steelers D joined in the general malaise of the X-Men's week collecting just 9 points between them,

Fulchester Fish 90 @ 71 Portsmouth Pirates

Bruschi 54s 105 @ 57 Cornish Tinners
Antonio Brown outscored Heath Miller, but there was never any chance of a comeback win here.

Get It Right Next Time 67 @ 90 Chingford Gingers
Shaun Suisham made it into double figures in a futile effort to get GIRNT over the finishing line.

WEEK 12 - SCORES IN PROGRESS

Crystal Tipps 51 @ 73 Barry Crockers - YTP Bills DST (Tipps), J.Flacco (Crockers)
Not too much hope here for the Tipps, who need a crazy outing from the Bills D coupled with a Joe Flacco implosion. Only the Colts pairing of QB Andrew Luck (14) and K Adam Vinatieri (12) made it into double figures while last week's hero RB Jonas Gray never even saw the field this week. Two big scorers for the Crockers have probably seen them home - WR Demaryius Thomas scored 26, and RB Isaiah Crowell 20.

Portsmouth Pirates 66 @ 82 X-Men - YTP T.Smith (Pirates), J.Forsett, D.Carpenter (X-Men)
Again, still a bit to play for but looking good for the X-Men. Best of the scoring for the Pirates came from the DST and K positions, with Eagles kicker Cody Parkey collecting an excellent 20 points, and the Bears DST managing 15. For the X-Men, rookie WR star Odell Beckham had another great day with 26 points, including an unbelievable TD reception which is well worth a look if you haven't seen it already. Chargers DST also chipped in with 15 points.

Cornish Tinners 48 @ 58 Get It Right Next Time - YTP M.Ingram (Tinners), D.Brees, J.Graham (GIRNT)
Two Monday night games this week mean that there's play left in all league matchups, but like the first two games, this looks like it's only going to go one way with RB Mark Ingram having to outscore the hotshot duo of Drew Brees and Jimmy Graham by 11 points for the Tinners to overtake Get It Right Next Time. Outside of WR Dez Bryant's 20 and QB Phil Rivers' 13, hardly anything else from the Tinners - not great scoring either so far from GIRNT apart from WR Anquan Boldin who scored 19 points.

Forest Tigers 84 @ 93 Fulchester Fish - YTP J.Tucker (Tigers), S.Smith, S.Graham (Fish)
Battle of the kickers tonight, but with a 9 point lead and WR Steve Smith also left to go, this should be a win for the Fish. 19 each from QB Tom Brady and RB LeSean McCoy, and 14 from WR Emmanuel Sanders provided the impetus for a reasonable total score for the Tigers, but they came up against two very strong RB shows this week, Eddie Lacy getting 25 and CJ Anderson 24, while QB Aaron Rodgers added 19 points.

Caracas Firecrackers 86 @ 91 Chingford Gingers - YTP O.Daniels (Firecrackers)
This is one of the two interesting matchup this week, with Firecrackers needing just 5 points out of TE Owen Daniels this evening (they would win if scores were level due to a better bench score). 5 points is obviously not a lot, but outside of 2 or 3 elite tight ends this year, it's such a streaky position that I don't think any chickens can be counted as yet! 19 points each from QB Russell Wilson and new daddy WR TY Hilton, plus 16 from RB Ryan Matthews for the Firecrackers - RB Matt Forte top-scoring for the Gingers with 22, with the Colts D getting 16 and Seattle kicker Steve Hauschka 15.

Putney Gooners 57 @ 85 Bruschi 54s - YTP F.Jackson, C.Ivory, S.Watkins (all Gooners)
And this is the other tight game, with the Bruschis all done and waiting to see if the three remaining Gooners can total 29 points between them this evening. QB Peyton Manning accounted for almost exactly half of the Gooners total so far with 28 points - for the 54s, RB Jamaal Charles led the way with 18, with lower double digit scores from 4 other players.

WEEK 12 - FINAL SCORES

Crystal Tipps 74 @ 86 Barry Crockers
The Bills D put up a fine showing with 21 points, but an OK 13 from Joe Flacco was enough for Barry Crockers.

Portsmouth Pirates 75 @ 122 X-Men
In the end, a blowout win for the X-Men as Justin Forsett ran wild with 30 points.

Cornish Tinners 51 @ 101 Get It Right Next Time
Most of the Saints points came through the air rather than the ground last night, so it was a good day for Brees (27) and Graham (16) and a poor one for Ingram (3), leading to a big win for Get It Right Next Time.

Forest Tigers 96 @ 116 Fulchester Fish
Both kickers more or less kept pace with each other, so the eventual difference was Steve Smith's 14 points for the Fish.

Caracas Firecrackers 86 @ 91 Chingford Gingers
Owen Daniels barely got 5 yards, let alone 5 points. A big fat zero from the Ravens TE and Chingford Gingers hang on.

Putney Gooners 73 @ 85 Bruschi 54s
Considering the huge Buffalo win last night, a combined 13 points from Fred Jackson and Sammy Watkins was really disappointing, and Jets RB Ivory wasn't put in a position to get much work, only getting 3 points. Bruschi 54s take the win.

WEEK 13 FIXTURES

Barry Crockers (4-8) @ Portsmouth Pirates (6-6)
X-Men (5-7) @ Crystal Tipps (5-7)
Get It Right Next Time (4-8) @ Forest Tigers (6-6)
Fulchester Fish (9-3) @ Cornish Tinners (7-5)
Chingford Gingers (9-3) @ Putney Gooners (7-5)
Bruschi 54s (6-6) @ Caracas Firecrackers (4-8)

WEEK 13 - SCORES IN PROGRESS

Barry Crockers 62 @ 90 Portsmouth Pirates - YTP L.Miller (Pirates)
The Pirates will take the win here, and stay top of the Western division, by 28 plus whatever Lamar Miller can add tonight - and every point could be vital as the division is very tight and points scored is the second tiebreaker (after the head-to-head results). WR Torrey Smith was the top scorer with 18, while there were a trio of 15s from QB Jay Cutler, RB Arian Foster and K Cody Parkey. Nothing much from the Crockers, who are now out of the playoff picture (Eagles D leading with 14 points), but as for all non-playoff teams, keep playing hard - a reminder that the better your finish, the higher your draft position for next year.

X-Men 63 @ 94 Crystal Tipps - YTP R.Tannehill (X-Men), M.Wallace, E.Decker (Tipps)
Looking good for the Tipps here - a win will still leave them in with a chance of taking the Western division. Two huge scorers for Crystal Tipps - QB Andrew Luck, after a ropey start, collected 32 points and WR Calvin Johnson 26. The Bills D added another 16. Kicker Matt Prater was the main man for the X-Men with 12, but not a great week for them - and a loss would mean they're also done for the year.

Get It Right Next Time 105 @ 100 Forest Tigers - completed game
A narrow win for Get It Right Next Time in a fairly high scoring battle. Two huge scorers here as well - Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins had a fantastic game, ending up with 35 points, and a great game too from QB Drew Brees, although his main receiving weapon TE Jimmy Graham, also on the GIRNT roster, bizarrely went without a single catch. Some good scores too from the Tigers, QB Ben Roethlisberger with 25, and 19 each from WR Alshon Jeffery and RB LeSean McCoy, but the Tigers come up just short. Get It Right Next Time were already in the position of accurately predicting their season's outcome with the choice of team name, but with this win, they also take out Forest Tigers from the playoff picture.

Fulchester Fish 118 @ 124 Cornish Tinners - completed game
A real heavyweight contest here resulting in a narrow win for the Tinners. Lots of good scoring on both sides - for the Tinners, Rams RB Tre Mason helped himself to 33 points in the annihilation of the Raiders, while QB Philip Rivers rediscovered his early form with 26, and WR Antonio Brown also had a fine day with 23. Fish stars were QB Aaron Rodgers with 24 and RB CJ Anderson with 23. This result leaves the division open - Tinners one game behind the Fish, but holding the tiebreak advantage courtesy of a clean sweep in the head-to-head games.

Chingford Gingers 71 @ 88 Putney Gooners - YTP C.Sturgis (Gooners)
This will be a win for the Gooners, who thus keep their playoff hopes alive. RB Leveon Bell, in a week of excellent individual performances, was another player who hit the 30 point barrier, while WR Brandon LaFell managed 15. Bits and pieces from the Gingers this week, with the kicker Steven Hauschka getting the highest score of 14. It's still looking good for the Gingers to win the division - if they and the Gooners finish level on W-L records, the series is split 1-1 and then total points would come into it with the Gingers miles ahead on this tiebreaker. Gooners still in with a good chance of the wildcard though.

Bruschi 54s 90 @ 85 Caracas Firecrackers - YTP P.Harvin (Firecrackers)
In a repeat of last week, Firecrackers go into the Monday night game needing just a handful of points from their last remaining player - this time, it's Percy Harvin of the moribund New York Jets. Better luck this time Firecrackers! Bruschi 54s score was mainly down to two players - WR Julio Jones got 24 and RB Rashad Jennings 21. Top scorer for the Firecrackers by a distance was the Rams D who trampled all over the hapless Raiders on their way to 30 points. This may be the only contest with any interest going into Monday night, but it's all in vain for both of these teams - neither will qualify for the post-season.

WEEK 13 - FINAL SCORES

Barry Crockers 62 @ 102 Portsmouth Pirates
Miller scored 12 to round off the Pirates week.

X-Men 71 @ 101 Crystal Tipps
Not a great night for any of the three Monday night players, as the game itself was a pretty low-scoring affair. Tipps can only add 7 to their total points score.

Get It Right Next Time 105 @ 100 Forest Tigers

Fulchester Fish 118 @ 124 Cornish Tinners

Chingford Gingers 71 @ 99 Putney Gooners
A pleasing double figure score from kicker Sturgis last night to pad out the Gooners win.

Bruschi 54s 90 @ 87 Caracas Firecrackers
For the second successive week, the Firecrackers last man standing (in this case, Percy Harvin) failed to get the handful of points needed - just 2 scored.

WEEK 14 FIXTURES

Western Division.
X-Men (5-8) @ Barry Crockers (4-9)
Crystal Tipps (6-7) @ Portsmouth Pirates (7-6)
The simplest of the three divisions - it comes down to a straight shootout between Tipps and Pirates, with the winner taking the division title and the loser missing out on the playoffs. (If the Tipps beat the Pirates and finish level on 7-7, they would win as they will have swept the Pirates 2-0 head-to-head.)

Central Division
Fulchester Fish (9-4) @ Get It Right Next Time(5-8)
Cornish Tinners (8-5) @ Forest Tigers (6-7)
A win for the Fish, and they would take the title - but a loss and a Tinners win would hand it to the Tinners on tiebreaks. Fish I reckon have already qualified, whether by winning the title or as the wildcard - at 9-5, they hold the tiebreak advantage over whoever is going to finish 2nd, and at best also 9-5, in the East, having beaten both Gingers and Gooners along the way. Tinners need to win - a loss, and they would finish behind Putney Gooners, whatever the Gooners result, having lost their matchup earlier this year if it comes down to a tiebreak.

Eastern Division
Bruschi 54s (7-6) @ Chingford Gingers (9-4)
Caracas Firecrackers (4-9) @ Putney Gooners (8-5)
Gingers are division winners in all but name - even a loss for them and a Gooners win would mean the two teams level on record and head-to-head, so it would then go to total points, at which the Gingers are way ahead. Even a win for the Gooners might not be enough for the wildcard - that will depend on the Fish/Tinners battle. If the Tinners win, Fish would be the wildcard. Conversely, a Gooners loss might still be OK in the event of a Tinners loss. Bruschi 54s aren't out of it either - a win for them and losses for the Gooners and Tinners would see all three on 8-6. Bruschi hold the advantage over the Tinners by virtue of their win in week 11, and with the head-to-head with division rivals Gooners standing at 1-1, the 54s could nick the wildcard with a 28 point swing over the Gooners.

(If anyone spots a flaw in my analysis, please feel free to point it out :) )

WEEK 14 - SCORES IN PROGRESS

X-Men 100 @ 91 Barry Crockers - completed game
X-Men take out a narrow win to close their regular season. QBs the big scorers for both teams here - for the Crockers, Cam Newton came good at the last accounting for 35 points, with 15 from WR Doug Baldwin and 14 from TE Rob Gronkowski, but there were too many other really low scores for comfort. X-Men got 24 out of Matt Stafford, with WR Odell Beckham continuing his great form with 19.

Crystal Tipps 81 @ 78 Portsmouth Pirates - completed game
In the winner-take-all battle, the Tipps just nick it, and take the division title on the tiebreaker. Not a great score from the Tipps, but just enough - QB Andrew Luck (22) and WR Calvin Johnson (21) had good days, but they were the only two into double figures. The Pirates had QB Jay Cutler (25), RB Arian Foster (20) plus the Lions D chipping in with 14, but they came up just short. One unfortunate event for the Pirates - WR Torrey Smith never got on the field, injuring himself between being declared active for the game, and the actual start of the game - annoying!

Fulchester Fish 71 @ 50 Get It Right Next Time - YTP A.Rodgers, E.Lacy, R.White (all Fish)
Big win for the Fish to give them the Central title, with already a 21 point lead and three big hitters yet to play. RB was the key to the Fish score, netting 27 from DeMarco Murray and 23 from CJ Anderson. Get It Right Next Time end with a bit of a whimper with only QB Drew Brees and the Seattle D scraping into double figures, both collecting 11 points.

Cornish Tinners 85 @ 72 Forest Tigers - YTP M.Bryant (Tinners), Packers D (Tigers)
Still hope for the Tinners to grab the wildcard spot (now that the Fish are champions, this is the only way into the playoffs), as this match still has all to play for. Tinners need the Packers D to score no more than 13 points more than the Atlanta kicker Bryant. RB Joique Bell had the best score of the day for the Tinners with 25, and TE Greg Olsen followed him home with 13. 18 from QB Tom Brady, plus 16 and 15 from WRs Mike Evans and Alshon Jeffery for the Tigers.

Bruschi 54s 73 @ 77 Chingford Gingers - YTP S.Jackson, J.Jones (both 54s), R.Cobb, J.Nelson (both Gingers)
Far too early to call this one, as there are potentially big scorers on both sides yet to play this week. RB Jamaal Charles scored 23, and QB Tony Romo 20 for the 54s, while the major player so far on the Gingers squad is WR AJ Green who managed a career high yardage total on his way to 28 points. What has been rubberstamped however is the Gingers division title, which was all but decided anyway - Gooners unsurprisingly failing to get 100 or so points for the week more than the Gingers. I think the Bruschi 54s are still technically alive - by my calculations they will sneak into the wildcard spot with a Gooners loss, plus an unlikely 63 points from Julio Jones and Steven Jackson tonight. You never know!

Caracas Firecrackers 89 @ 107 Putney Gooners - YTP M.Crosby (Firecrackers)
For the third week running, Firecrackers are relying on one last player to overtake their opponents, but this time they need rather more work from Mason Crosby than on the two previous occasions. QB Russell Wilson had a fine 28, and also good scoring from WR TY Hilton for the Firecrackers team - the Gooners hitting triple figures mainly down to three players, the Browns D (23), RB Jonathan Stewart (21), and star of the week RB LeVeon Bell with a fantastic 41. The Fish win was good news for the Gooners - they are now in pole position to take the wildcard due to advantages in tiebreakers.

So at the moment, it looks like all three divisions are sewn up (Crystal Tipps, Fulchester Fish, Chingford Gingers) while the wildcard is still up for grabs between Putney Gooners, Cornish Tinners and (technically!) Bruschi 54s.

WEEK 14 - FINAL SCORES

X-Men 100 @ 91 Barry Crockers

Crystal Tipps 81 @ 78 Portsmouth Pirates

Fulchester Fish 130 @ 56 Get It Right Next Time
Good scoring from all three MNF players (Rodgers 27, Lacy 22, White 10) meant an eventual huge win for the Fish.

Cornish Tinners 94 @ 73 Forest Tigers
The Packers D had a bad day for the Tigers, so in the end they got nowhere close to the Tinners. Tinners take the win and end at 9-5 - sadly for them, not quite enough to take the wildcard due to the Gooners just holding on for a win in their matchup.

Bruschi 54s 117 @ 108 Chingford Gingers
A magnificent effort from Steven Jackson and Julio Jones to try and achieve the first part of the sequence of results that the 54s needed for the wildcard - aiming for a combined 63 points, Jones got 31 and Jackson 13 - but not quite enough. As it happened though, even the 63 points wouldn't have been of any use, due to the Gooners win.

Caracas Firecrackers 104 @ 107 Putney Gooners
Unbelievable Jeff! - for the third week running, Firecrackers fall just short with their MNF player just failing to get the required total. Mason Crosby made a great stab at it with 15, but that's not quite enough. Gooners just hang on to the win, ending at 9-5 tied with the Cornish Tinners, and advance to the playoffs as the wildcard due to their narrow win in their head-to-head in week 10.

So, well done to the 4 semifinalists - Crystal Tipps, Fulchester Fish, Chingford Gingers and Putney Gooners. The "bad luck award" to the Cornish Tinners who finish 2 games ahead of the Western Division (aka the NFC South!) winners but miss out.
To all the 8 teams not involved in the playoffs, a reminder that there is still something to play for - climbing up the overall standings ladder with good results these last two weeks will improve your draft slot for next year.

WEEK 15 FIXTURES

Putney Gooners (9-5) @ Fulchester Fish (10-4)
Crystal Tipps (7-7) @ Chingford Gingers (9-5)

Bruschi 54s (8-6) @ Cornish Tinners (9-5)
Forest Tigers (6-8) @ Portsmouth Pirates (7-7)
Get It Right Next Time (5-9) @ X-Men (6-8)
Caracas Firecrackers (4-10) @ Barry Crockers (4-10)
