Spinynorman (USA) 25 - 51 The Bear (France)
Mo Bot (Fiji) 19 - 0 Surprised (Wales)

tyaslevesley (Uguguay) 15 - 17 v theo29 (Australia)
France squeeze out a win...

Richt (Samoa) 100 - 96 DLIAH (Japan)

Boddington (N Zealand) 89 - 98 Kingcurtley (Namibia)

Mo Bot (Fiji) 86 - 56 Surprised (Wales)
tyaslevesley (Uguguay) 74 - 45 v theo29 (Australia)

At HT in these ties the two League A match-ups are neck and neck, Richt could still be in with a chance. Wide open.

In B, Kingcurtley's class is showing, a win will almost put him through but thebillfella is making it 2 from 3 by the looks of it.

In C Jimmy may be about to face defeat for the first time as The Bear looks like joining them in the chase.

Crazy League D has again surprised, but Mo Bot can virtually guarantee a QF place is things stay as they are.

Final Scores:

Richt (Samoa) 228 - 201 DLIAH (Japan)
jeffersdn (Russia) 182 - 224 SamD (Scotland)
Boddington (N Zealand) 181 - 193 Kingcurtley (Namibia)
thebillfella (Canada) 183 - 179 Average of above game (Ashers (South Africa))
Jimmy Ching (Argentina) 192 - 197 megadyl (England)
Spinynorman (USA) 142 - 218 The Bear (France)
Mo Bot (Fiji) 233 - 158 Surprised (Wales)
tyaslevesley (Uguguay) 171 - 169 v theo29 (Australia)

Richt (Samoa) 28 - 25 DLIAH (Japan)
jeffersdn (Russia) 22 - 28 SamD (Scotland)
Boddington (N Zealand) 22 - 24 Kingcurtley (Namibia)
thebillfella (Canada) 22 - 22 Average of above game (Ashers (South Africa))
Jimmy Ching (Argentina) 24 - 24 megadyl (England)
Spinynorman (USA) 17 - 27 The Bear (France)
Mo Bot (Fiji) 29 - 19 Surprised (Wales)
tyaslevesley (Uguguay) 28 -28 v theo29 (Australia)

So Jimmy Ching's Argies take their position as Group C winners. Also through are 2011 champions Namibia and kingcurtley, and Mo Bot's Fiji, though they could still be overtaken into second in their leagues.

It's getting tighter and tighter with four draws in this round.

Reminder of the final ties:

Richt (Samoa) v forestfan (Ireland)
SamD (Scotland) v DLIAH (Japan)
Maldini (Italy) v Boddington (N Zealand)
Kingcurtley (Namibia) v thebillfella (Canada)
The Bear (France) v megadyl (England)
bluenosey (Tonga) v Spinynorman (USA)
Surprised (Wales) v tyaslevesley (Uruguay)
Spencer4 (Georgia) v Mo Bot (Fiji)

Template:

Australia v Georgia
New Zealand v Italy
England v France
Ireland v Samoa
Canada v Namibia
USA v Tonga
Wales v Uruguay
Scotland v Japan

In group A it's any two from three as unbeaten DLIAH sees a nightmare unfolding with a defeat to sam allowing forestfan to pip him for a QF place.

In B, thebillfella needs to get the better of kingcurtley or it's all over for him.

In C, the Bear v megadyl will decide that second qualifying spot.

In D, Sp4 will join Mo Bot if he doesn't get murdered by him. In the other tie SUrprised needs to win big.

I’m not sure this is right Spencer....

I was 7 ahead after the France game,

SA I won by 7
Argentina I lost by 9
Scotland I lost by 2
Wakes I won by 2

So I think I should have won by 5 (total) but not sure how the averages would work out. May still be a draw I guess.

As always my maths may just be inadequate.

Thanks

It didn't make any difference at all to your tie and just a statistical change for a couple of the others, but it meant a draw in the final tie in group D, meaning Tyaslevesley now can't go through.

Apologies if my sums are wrong but I can't figure out how first group A match was drawn.
Think Richt finished 27 points ahead of DLIAH (228-201, not 197-192 as posted at 2:20 pm).
If so, group is wide, wide open ...

I have no idea where 197-192 comes from. I have the score as 228-201 as well. If I didn't know better I'd think Mrs Vardy had been at my posts

To quote the oft-used phrase of my maths teacher, "perhaps you should show your workings, young man...".

Think my match score was 224-186 = 28-23 (not 28-22) so goal difference is 71-67.
Thus jeffersdn's GD improves by 1.

Also believe Richt GD is now 76-79, not 75-79.
As any of four teams can still finish top in Group A, goal difference may be crucial.

So how is this final scoring thing working then Spencer? If the scores are just converted to an average / game then shouldn't the above be 23 - 22?

Everything's rounded down to the nearer whole number so 22 is the range between 176 and 183.

Final Scores:

thebillfella (Canada) 183 - 179 Average of above game (Ashers (South Africa))

thebillfella (Canada) 22 - 22 Average of above game (Ashers (South Africa))
So how is this final scoring thing working then Spencer? If the scores are just converted to an average / game then shouldn't the above be 23 - 22?
Everything's rounded down to the nearer whole number so 22 is the range between 176 and 183.
Bloody hell! 22.9 = 22! No offence but please don't teach maths to my lad!!!
:)

We'll void them. Looks like we're playing 6 of 8 this set.
