As a fantasy football player who has stuck by Bent for a while (though I must admit I relished the promise of him with three matches in a week against Middlesborough, Portsmouth and whoever) I feel let down at the stupid decision he made to do it.Bramernic wrote:Well he took his shirt off and waved it round above his head for quite a while, so yes, I'm sure he was booked.pottster wrote:are you sure he got a booking?

In case anyone else is still analysing the reporters ...
I'm surprised at Bent, although he did obviously change the result in the last 15 minutes, and I have him in my best team so I'm definitely not complaining.SamD wrote:The six man/match decisions can be viewed in online reports of Monday 17 April:

Rooney again?
I was supporting his MOTM awards early in the season but this one is madness. Non existent for much of the game, and must have got tackled about 20 times in the second half (and by SPURS defenders! ). Park gave Lee a torrid time, same for Ronaldo on the other side, very surprised one of those two didn't get it. Actually probably not that surprised.
Also thought it could easily have gone to Dawson or Lennon. He terrified the United defence first half especially.

Er, Rooney scored two goals, for which he will be awarded 10 TFF points, so that element of the match has already got it's reward. He did very little else to justify another 5 points on top. The whole point of MOTM was to pick up the best all round player from each game, be it tackling, defensive headers, great creativity, whatever. Giving him MOTM for yesterday is basically rewarding him twice for the same thing.Elvis77 wrote:I agree with the previous MOTM comments to a point about the Man U game though to be fair Rooney done most to win a very important game.

That's supposed to be the idea, and if that was the case Dawson was the man. But we're used to why people get the awards now and Rooney did exactly what TFF wanted him to. Apart from the goals, well taken btw, and being a slight nuisance he was pretty quiet.scarletjim wrote:The whole point of MOTM was to pick up the best all round player from each game, be it tackling, defensive headers, great creativity, whatever.
I am surprised at Drogba tho, even if I can't offer anyone else who nailed it - maybe Lampard if anyone but he was quietish too.
Can't comment on any others except Carra, he deserved it.

Precisely. Its now getting to the stage where your second goal = ten points.scarletjim wrote:Er, Rooney scored two goals, for which he will be awarded 10 TFF points, so that element of the match has already got it's reward. In fact I'd rather see that as a new scoring system rather than continuing with MOTM......
