Man U 3-0 Brum

Rooney (Ronaldo, hurrah!)

Think the 1st goal has been given as a Taylor OG, Giggs KC

Not in this game - Rooney still had too much to do IMO. :(

:?: Ronaldo flicked on from goal kick, not sure if KC will be awarded, as Ronney had a few touches before slotting it home

I think we need Bram's definitive answer on Ronaldo's KC. Please don't get my hopes up like that Dr. Pepper.

You posted it originally!

I'm quite confident of a KC for Ronaldo...but of course, dont take my word for it.

Read an earlier Bram post that said a player had 4 touches so it wouldn't be a KC, Rooney only had 3 touches so Rons got a chance

A Ronaldo KC is very, very unlikely I would say, but I too will wait for the oracle.

I think Ronaldos header had enough of an impact on the outcome of Rooneys goal to warrent a KC.

Fingers crossed on this one!

It was a Key Contribution to Rooneys goal whatever way you look at it and it did partially open up the defence. However the only doubt being that Rooney took a few touches before slotting it home. I dont think this would rule out a KC though.

I want to preface this comment by saying I am not a TFF player, this data is from the OFL Pro site and I don't know how different their criteria are for assists etc. but Pro have just updated their site for the first time since 430 yesterday and there are a few surprises it would seem.

They are crediting Crouch and Reina with assists for Luis Garcia's goal, and Ryan Nelsen for Steven Reid's.

Thought it worth flagging this info in case it affects anyone and they need to study the highlights further or whatever.

Hope it helps :)

OFL's rules are completely different. They merely credit the last person to touch the ball with the assist (2 if its headed in the same direction, ala Reina/Crouch), wheres TFF work much more on a well key contribution basis. You cant compare the two.

While this weekend wasn't as profitable as the midweek, it still can be. Ive been looking about and;

Carragher, Harewood, Bent and Rooney's names have all be tossed up for MOTMs. What does everyone think?

Carragher? Do they give MOTM for standing around bored?

Its Alonso's or I'll be looking for a new game on August.

I was in McDs today reading a paper as I waiting for my free apple pie, ana dthe paper in there said Carragher, and apparently its a Winter game, so you never know.

They also gave Alonso a 6, while Carragher got star man and an 8, while looking at the stats, Carragher is the only of the four not to get an assist of goal this week.

Assuming you were reading a Sunday Tele, I think (not sure) they use different journos to the Daily Tele.

If Ronaldo's on for a KC with his one touch header how about VDS for a KC for the big kick?

After watching MOTD2, half live half on tape as there was a pub quiz tonight, here are my thoughts on likely KCs from today's games:

*** Now confirmed via TTF ***

Man United 3-0 Birmingham
Maik Taylor og (Giggs)
Giggs (Rooney)
Rooney (Ronaldo)

Middlesbrough 4-3 Bolton
Giannakopoulos (-)
Hasselbaink (-)
Viduka (Rochembank, Hasselbaink)
Hasselbaink (Quedrue, Viduka)
Okocha (-) Nil points as original penalty was saved
Jaidi (Gardner)
Parnaby (Yakubu) Viduka possible not given

Charlton 3-1 Newcastle
D Bent (Thomas)
Parker (-)
Bowyer og (-)
Bothroyd (Rommedahl)
