Kneed in the head by Keane.
J O'Shea going in goal.

So as far as TFF concerned I think VDS is still on the pitch?
Fair point... come on O'Shea keep that clean sheet for VDS :P

I'm 99% sure he will. Cech got 4 points when he went off and he was subbed, VDS wasn't so should get 6.

What happened to the Sheff Utd 'keeper when they played Arsenal? They had an outfield player go in so we can find out that way.

It's got nothing to do with who goes in goal, if a player, any player, is not actually replaced they are still deemed to be on the pitch for TFF point scoring purposes. It's happened plenty of times before, this is definitely right.

Just got back from work was there an assist for Scholes goal?

(Also as I have VDS in goal I think he should get a sympathy MOTM for services to EPL.)

But the wording states
+2 pts for not conceding a goal during a part-appearance
so surely it doesnt matter whether he was subbed or not

Officially he was still playing, so its a full appearance. For example, if he had made an amazing recovery 5 mins later and wanted to come back on, the ref would have let him. Definitely 6 points.

This happened last year when Chelsea played Newcastle in a cup competition. They'd used all their subs, and then, I think, Bridge got injured and went off. He wasn't scored as if he had been subbed, and remained with the 1 point.

Fair enough, there are many TFF players who owe SAF 2 points

So to summarise :

Spurs 0-4 Man Utd
Ronaldo (-)
Vidic (Carrick)
Scholes (Ronaldo)
Giggs (Saha)

Van der Sar will definitely get 6 points as he was not subbed off.
Vidic will get 9 points as he was booked, Evra, Neville and Rio will get 6 points.
Rooney and Larsson both also booked so 0 points for those 2.

Scholes got MOM on Sky and personally I agree with that decision. It was yet another midfield masterclass from him.

Midfield masterclass in how not to tackle
How he was not booked in that game beggars belief; at least 5 to 6 mis-timed tackles where the man was played and not the ball

Paul Scholes did receive a yellow card, as graphically illustrated here:

Another awful refereeing display. Missed penalties that should have been given, gave penalties that shouldn't have been given. Booked Vidic and Rooney for minor infringements (admittedly thats my opinion with the benefit of slow-motion replays) but didn't book Scholes for several badly timed and "over-enthusiastic" lunges. Bizarre  . OOps  . I didn't see him get booked  .

No other site has a Scholes booking :?

Questions

1 If O Shea had conceded that goal from pass back would Van der Sar have only got 1 Point then as he was technically on the field ???

2 If O Shea had saved a pen would he have got a plus 5 ??

Number one has happened before, number 2 was answered by the Telegraph after we raised it following the Reading incident when Terry ended up in goal.

Just because every website fed by the PA says he wasn't doesn't mean that he wasn't actually booked. Remember Toure and Carragher earlier this season, where TFF deducted the points a few days later. Also Terry and Drogba from last season were missed by the PA but not TFF. Comically in the case of Terry, MotD showed him getting the yellow during the game, but his name wasn't on the stats round-up strip while the post match interviews were being shown.

OK

Scholes definately not booked during the 90 minutes of play at WHL on the pitch.

(Could of had 4 yellows today)

I couldn't agree more! So many late tackles wihout a booking, Vidic gets booked for his first tackle......as did Larsson!

I completely agree that Scholes should have been booked whereas Vidic, Larsson and Rooney were all very unfortunate with their yellows, especially Larsson, but that should not detract from a fantastic midfield display from Scholes. He dictated all the play and bossed the match, plus weighed in with the killer 3rd goal. Like I say, a midfield masterclass, and a fantastic choice by Ray Wilkins and George Graham for Sky TV's man of the match. Just because a referee doesn't show him a yellow card when he deserved one does not mean it was not a fantastic performance from him. Everyone knows he can't tackle anyway, so it's nothing new! But the good part of his game far outweighed 3 poorly timed tackles. He is one of the 3 main contenders for Player of the Year I reckon along with Ronaldo and Drogba.

The only other true contenders for the man of the match were Vidic who had yet another excellent performance at the heart of the defence, and also Ronaldo who won the penalty for the 1st goal, scored it himself and then made the 2nd goal with great skill and pace to skin Lee and then a precision ball to pick out Scholesey.
