But you can say that about every move. If any one move doesn't happen then everything after it changes. The ball upfield didn't immediately put Agbonlahor in a goalscoring position, he still had lots to do. True, if the ball hadn't been passed to him he couldn't have done it, but the goal was all his own work.
True, I suppose. I guess what I'm trying to say is that some moves, whilst not classed as KC's in our game, are so clearly key to the goal in the game from a non-fantasy perspective, whereas other passes aren't really that key whatever way you look at it.

It's late and I'm waffling, bedtime da.

I think thats why we go with the idea of defence splitting passes. Looking at that goal; who did the work to score the goal. It was Agbonlahor. While he wouldn't have been in that position if it hadn't have been for McCann, he did all the leg work to get himself into the position.

A man loses his driving license. His wife drives him to work. He mines a new world record. Did she help with that? No. She just put him in the position to work the magic! :D

Ah, it's all so clear now. Whenever I try to predict KC's in the future, I'll just remember that behind every man mining a world record having lost his driving licence, is a woman driving him to work.

:D

My English teacher used to call that a 'uselessgy' as it's an analogy that is worked out retrospectively and cannot be used in any helpful manner.

I think the moment Agbonlahor had to go back for the ball, the KC was gone.

First Goal for Man U

Rooney (Evra and Ronaldo) Toure's flick on did not divert the cross so they should both get a KC

Second Goal for Everton

Arteta (Neville and possibly whoever passed to him(Beattie?))

The Winning Goal

Henry (Eboue and Rosicky)

Van Persie's goal could have an Henry assist if he touched the cross
from Rosicky

Even f Henry did not touch the ball, IMO he deserves a KC - he fooled the defender and gave the goalscoring opportunities on a silver platter to RvP.

For the RVP goal, if Henry is judged to touch it the KC's would obviously go to Henry & Rosicky. If Henry is judged not to have touched it what are the opinions on Fab getting a KC for the pass to Rosicky?

I dont know if he'll get it or not, but the way some people on here speak to forum vets is shambolical.

Yer Old Da sounds like he's right, and even if he's not, Saboo should watch how he speaks to people.

"Pretty sure he will actually," is the line I'm talking about.

I've watched it about ten times on the Sky+ now and Henry doesn't touch it. The spin of the ball and it's direction are the two tell tale signs. The spin did not alter, which confirms it for me.

Even if Henry did touch it, he wont necessarily get a KC :?:
Points for key contributions will not necessarily be awarded for all goals scored and in some cases the judges may award points to two players for one goal if they consider both to have made a key contribution. A key contribution will not necessarily be awarded to the last player to touch the ball before the goal scorer and may be awarded for opposition own goals.
Toure's touch to the Man U goal is considered negligible as it didnt influence the path of the ball, allowing Evra and Ronaldo to get KCs. Therefore surely Henry's (non-)touch shouldnt be considered a KC even if it brushed against him. Which it didnt

Watch carefully on the replay in front of him , and look at the ball spinning before it reached van persie, rosicky cross was fairly flat.
