If Howard hadn't of bothered diving for it you maybe wouldn't of ended up with the 3 points. 8-)

Why?

Ballack's shot was off target, it hit the post. It only went in because it hit the keeper afterwards. That's a damn site clearer than a lot of the own goals that are given.
Didn't Howard get a hand to it in the first pla,ce, and knoked it onto th epost :?:

Can Bram/anyone clear the following up please?

A few weeks ago there was a huge argument over why Rooney didn't get a KC for being fouled for a penalty, the answer was quite correctly that even though he seemed to be in control of the ball he never touched it.

So why did Pennant not get a KC this week? He was clearly not in control I agree but by the previous argument the key factor is whether he touched the ball, which he clearly did.

:?: :?: :?:

1) Ballack - Howard's hand touched the ball on the way back from the post.
2) Pennant - he'd headed the ball towards the goal before he was fouled so wasn't in posession at the time of the foul.

Latest FUL 2 MID 1

Helguson pen (Volz)
McBride (Radzinski) Shot was from inside the D on edge of box so will
be a KC in my opinion

Howard should get some credit

The slow motion showed he saved the free kick by tipping it onto the post.

The ball then came off the post and hit Howard on the back and went in
the net

Perhaps he should have twitched and the ball would have gone round the post

After watching SSN I agree that this will be the likely outcome.

I'm prepared to guess that you have blue blood and are rather bias!
I do and I am!

By this rationale if a game finishes 0-0 only a defender can be the best player on the pitch as the strikers and midfielders failed in their primary aim - to create and score goals.

If a game finishes 1-0 then either the goalscorer or his defence can be MOM.

Personally, I'll stick with going for the best performance.

Why didn't he give it to McBride then rather than scuppering my MOTW chances. Git

I guess you don't want to hear this, but it is as predicted.

Well done anyway.
