IMO Drogba had a great match. Scored a wonder goal and held the front line well even when they went down to ten men. Alonso (a superb passer of the ball, bollox) was hardly in the game.

They should have ditched motm completly.

Very subjective I know but Makelele and Essien both stood out above him imo.
I agree Alonso gets a  but... when I was thinking about it I thought Liverpool were the 'team of the match' but couldn't think of an individual red to give it to. I assumed Drogba could get it because he had a reasonable game and that one bit of quality or maybe Terry for marshalling that brilliant defensive unit that enabled the CS.

Alonso did little to merit motm. I would have given it to Drogba. Not for the goal, but for a great lesson in leading the line.

Watching it yesterday I said after about 65 mins to a Liverpool fan take off Alonso he has done nothing today!!!!!

I did get the Sol Campbell one correct however, thought he was a tower of strength at the back and made numerous blocks when Charlton had a glimmer of an opening.

Does anyone know the final outcome of Lampard's assist for Drogba's goal? A pin point pass to edge of area - how can Tele not acknowledge that vision with a KC??

Joke surely? Can't recall anything of note from Alonso during the entire 95mins & I'm an LFC fan. Drogba should have got it - Fantastic goal & worked his socks off all game - I can't stand him personally but credit where it's due.

And no I don't have either Alonso or Drogba in my team ;)

Very strange one, although I rarely agree with Clive Tyldesley about anything football wise, the man's a muppet.

Maybe it's just me but I thought Liverpool were the better team, mainly because they controlled the midfield with Sissoko and Alonso, and no, I haven't got them in my team!

I do agree, although I think Alonso had a poor game, his passing was off the mark. Stevie was good, Agger was composed at the back and Kuyt was decent in attack, but still thought Drogba would get the MOTM for the goal and energetic performance.

I would of given it to Essien, I thought he held Chelsea's midfield together, Lampard and Ballack looked below par.

The sooner Benitez plays his BEST player in his BEST position the sooner Liverpool will come out of the slump they are in, Within minutes of Zenden being brought on and Gerrard going in the centre from the left wing, the next attack Gerrard got the chance which he really should of buried.

Still dont see how a 25yd ball direct onto Drogbas chest could NOT constitute a KC. Obviously he still had a lot to do to score, but the simple fact is that if Lamps had not played that ball in to him, he would not have got the scoring chance.

Could understand you view if the ball had deflected onto his chest or it had just been a hopeful punt upfield from the back.

Wednesday's paper....

OR for league games you can rely on someone (like AJC1964 or Bramernic) who plays TFFO and can check their earlier player score updates.

Confirmed KCs from TFFO:

Charlton 0-1 Portsmouth
Lua Lua (-)

Everton 2-2 Wigan
Johnson (Osman, Cahill)
Scharner (Kilbane)
Beattie (Osman)
Scharner (Johansson)

Sheff Utd 1-2 Reading
Doyle (Convey)
Seol (-)
Hulse (Armstrong, Akinbiyi)

Bolton 0-0 Middlesbrough

Watford 0-0 Aston Villa

Blackburn 4-2 Man City
Sinclair og (Pedersen)
Barton (Dickov)
Pedersen (-)
Ooijer og (Sinclair, Corradi)
McCarthy (Pedersen)
Gallagher (Emerton)

Chelsea 1-0 Liverpool
Drogba (Lampard)

Man United 0-1 Arsenal
Adebayor (Fabregas)

Tottenham 0-0 Fulham

West Ham 0-2 Newcastle
Duff (Martins)
Martins (-)

There might be a surprise extra in Saturday's list, but Sunday's is complete (due to the different way TFFO list points for the immediately previous day).

You'll never know how many of these I predicted this week, but suffice to say I didn't spot one, and another I thought would be wasn't given, so not a perfect set anyway. Time was never on my side this weekend.

By keeping a close eye on what Bram has posted and explained in the past (ie where the player is, number of touches, deflections etc), and also reading the rules it was a cast iron KC IMO as already posted.

If Drogba had taken more than 3 touches, say had controlled, touched to the left then beat the defender with another touch and blasted the ball into the net (which is then interpreted as the goalscorer doing too much) or been outside the the D when he had hit it then very rarely if at all are KC given.

I know it's a different game. However, the Telegraph World Cup game had a certain goal with no KC. Riqualme, made a 30 yard, cross field pass and picked out Maxi Rodrigers, who smashed it away from inside the edge of the box.
